I was born in 1994. I have been watching Cartoon Network everyday since 1999. It was awesome. It was in 2007 where I slowly stopped watching Cartoon Network. Shows like Total Drama Island, Flapjack and Chowder came out and I hardly watch Cartoon Network. Now I am 17 years old and I only watch re-runs of Cartoon Cartoons. Boomerang needs more improvement in my opinion. Young Justice, Star Wars, Batman Brave are the shows I watch on CN.
I remember. In fact I was there. I was there when its strength failed. It started as a simple "Dexter's Lab" Marathon: two new episodes would come out. What we got in its place was a good marathon and two shitty episodes. Then they reran those bad episodes and left the good ones to rot until they finally came out one last time in 2007. The Marathon Dexter Conquers the World was the breaking point. That's where everything (DC, Nick, CN) went in a spiraling downfall into oblivion.
I was only born in 1995, but i loved Toonami, it was the best thing that happened to CN, and for everyone saying Chowder and Flapjack were good..they had no point to them, and some of the stuff they had on there was revolting. None of it made sense. CN was good right to about 2003. Why would they ever end Courage The Cowardly Dog?
As much as I loved shows from 2006 like Teen Titans, KND, and others; I will admit that CN has some pretty awesome stuff up now. Like Adventure Time and Regular Show. People don't want to give new Cartoonists a chance because their so caught up in the old stuff they grew up with. Those shows replaced others shows, and now they're being replaced. Either way, new Cartoonists should have the right to step up without being bashed by teenagers who miss the old lineup. Ending Toonami was still stupid.

My Dad's mother, dad, 2 siblings, mother, first cousins, second cousins( I have over 80 of them), and second cousins once removed all had one thing in common: as a kid, they loved the shows that were on Cartoon Network. I also have a problem with your timeline being completely off... and alot of short lived shows as a matter of fact all of them but 2 made the list 1. Samurai Jack (which not being a fan of it I don't miss it at all) 2. Hi Hi PUFFY AmiYumi (based on the fact that Ami and Yumi 2 J-Pop stars existed brought together by Sony and had a band called PUFFY or here in the states PUFFY AmiYumi so puff daddy would stop suing them even though they were called that before him.)

I remember coming home from Elementary School during Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, all the way to 4th grade, I watch classic cartoons, even Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, I'm 17 now and Cartoon Network today is not what it was suppose to be, I remember coming home every Fridays and at every 19:00 (military time for 7:00 cause I live in a military town), now I watch WWE Smackdown at 20:00 as a replacement to Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. Cartoon Network is gone....
For me, 2004 felt like CN's peak, maybe because of the clips like the one shown in the video during that year. It felt like there was some spirit in the channel with how the characters are all integrated into one big, CN world. 2007 and earlier was when CN was 'good'. I actually watched the channel then. Some of the shows after 2007 were okay, but I wasn't watching the channel much anymore.
The most people miss is Toonami. :( When I was little girl I love watching anime shows with Tom! *sigh* Tom was the deal to make me watch anime shows! The only thing that I watched cartoon network because of Tom. :'( *R.I.P. Toonami *

I used to watch CN solidly when I was younger but gradually the programs got worse and worse. The last program I enjoyed was Camp Lazlo. Luckily I have my favourites on DVD (Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Cow And Chicken, Dexter's laboratory, The Power puff Girls, billy and mandy and codname kids next door). Out of Jimmy's head was a horrible excuse for a show and don't get me started on Flapjack...
I did love all of those, but I liked Flapjack and Chowder as well, I haven't watched Cartoon Network nor heard about it since 2008-9, I don't believe its good though due to this law of the universe:
@Scoinsoffaterocks I agree with you, As for the new shows I think it's opinion (though everyone can agree that Out of Jimmy's head did suck) but I might be a little biased due to what I grew up with I'm sure in 10 years time the kids will say that Chowder was the best and the new stuff sucked. The future's in the internet anyway so you know where to look when you want to find some good new cartoons or old ones I don't know where I'd be if Invader Zim Episodes weren't on Youtube.
Those cartoons gave me an amazing childhood and brought back so many memories. When i grow up I always wanted my children to have the same childhood as I did, so they could have memories of the past too. But it will never happen now that CN sucks :(
Is it bad that I haven't even watched CN in about a year or more? When I browse through the stations, I do go past that channel but usually their lineup consists of shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and all that weird animation stuff, so, I don't even bother with it. I am thankful that I have Boomerang and can watch some stuff online but there's a limit and it's sort of depressing....

Cartoon Network is getting better though. Slowly but surely. They recently put Flintstones and Jetsons back on cartoon network. If they get good ratings hopefully it will bring even more of the classical cartoons back on the air.

I remember when I was 14 in 2009 and they had began all of the CN real shows...like the survival type one and other but then they all disapeared. And thanks for bringing back memories of that 2004 commercial.
I think what really brought down cartoons were Family Guy and Robot Chicken. These were ADULT programmings that crossed every line you could think of, ut parents let their kids watch these programs and the creators of shows took notice. Now original CN shows rarely have good plot or decent art and they arent funny, just stupid (there is a difference). I thought CN was beginning to understand since they started re-airing their Cartoon Cartoons but the newest show to come out soon still looks bad.
@ctwatcher100 I think shows like Adventure Time, Chowder, Generator Rex, Regular Show, Gumball, Destroy Build Destroy, Dude What Would Happen, Total Drama Island (and maybe more) really made me not watch Cartoon Network like I used, too. I watch Cartoon Network from 1999 until 2007, although I do still *IF* they show Re-runs of Dexter, KND, Grim Billy Mandy, and those shows. Good times :')
Adult programmings are for Adults and therefore parents should block those programmings, simple.
Guys have any of you watched CN lately? it is actually starting to go back to what it was in the 90s/ early and although its not entirely there, I mean there two most successful shows feature violence and profanity, not to mention CN is restoring previously edited out scenes that were deemed inapropriate for children (except for racism).
This brung back alot of memorys. When me and my friends actually called each other to come over and watch TV after school. We would make popcorn, and get candy bars and watch all of our favorite shows. CN really starting falling down hill after late 2008... now all the shows are shit. xL They say things that isn't good for kids to be hearing. "Screw off" "Balls" "Kill You"... stuff like that. They show knives and blood in the shows now. What happened.

Cause there are many old favorites from pre 2008 that havent been seen on CN for years. like for example Code Lyoko or Captain Planet or He-man and the masters of the universe(the one that came on toonami) Megas XLR, Thundercats(original one), Swat Kats, and many other greats & even a few 2008 ones like Secret Saturdays and Young Justice as well(only 2011 one worth watchin)

CN went dow for me in August-September 2006 when they introduced that squirell show (Who soinds like the beaver from angry beavers), also the same time I stopped recieving cable. Looks like losing cable was a sign that CN was going to be crap. My god, it was righy.

I used to think that Cartoon Network was edgier and had more shows that teenagers to adults would enjoy and that nickelodeon was sillier being more towards younger kids. Now... Cartoon Network reminds me more of the old nickelodeon and nickelodeon reminds me more of the old Cartoon Network (without the action and has less cartoons).

My Dad's mother, dad, 2 siblings, mother, first cousins, second cousins( I have over 80 of them), and second cousins once removed all had one thing in common: as a kid, they loved the shows that were on Cartoon Network. Recently, I got interested in Looney Tunes and showed it to my Grandmother, and she remembered them from when my dad watched them in his childhood in the 60s and bust a gut laughing. For me, 2004 felt like CN's peak, maybe because of the clips like the one shown in the video during that year. It felt like there was some spirit in the channel with how the characters are all integrated into one big, CN world. 2007 and earlier was when CN was 'good'. I actually watched the channel then. Some of the shows after 2007 were okay, but I wasn't watching the channel much anymore.
And now, 2012, it's just.... What happened?

I used to watch CN solidly when I was younger but gradually the programs got worse and worse. The last program I enjoyed was Camp Lazlo. Luckily I have my favourites on DVD (Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Cow And Chicken, Dexter's laboratory, The Power puff Girls, billy and mandy and codname kids next door). Out of Jimmy's head was a horrible excuse for a show and don't get me started on Flapjack...

Is it bad that I haven't even watched CN in about a year or more? When I browse through the stations, I do go past that channel but usually their lineup consists of shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and all that weird animation stuff, so, I don't even bother with it. I am thankful that I have Boomerang and can watch some stuff online but there's a limit and it's sort of depressing....

Cartoon Network is getting better though. Slowly but surely. They recently put Flintstones and Jetsons back on cartoon network. If they get good ratings hopefully it will bring even more of the classical cartoons back on the air.

I think what really brought down cartoons were Family Guy and Robot Chicken. These were ADULT programmings that crossed every line you could think of, ut parents let their kids watch these programs and the creators of shows took notice. Now original CN shows rarely have good plot or decent art and they arent funny, just stupid (there is a difference). I thought CN was beginning to understand since they started re-airing their Cartoon Cartoons but the newest show to come out soon still looks bad.

Cause there are many old favorites from pre 2008 that havent been seen on CN for years. like for example Code Lyoko or Captain Planet or He-man and the masters of the universe(the one that came on toonami) Megas XLR, Thundercats(original one), Swat Kats, and many other greats & even a few 2008 ones like Secret Saturdays and Young Justice as well(only 2011 one worth watchin)

I grew up on the old cartoons I was born in 95'.... But no need to complain... Time change people change... We all grow up so hey change the channel and watch something age apprpreite.. Lol
