  • how long do you leave in the pins and curls?

  • @thebrokenactor I leave them in over night but time can vary min. 2 hours

  • Just out of curiosity, the curlers..do you think those curls could be achieved with just a curling iron?

  • @Misfitmind um maybe but you'd have to use a very small curling iron like 1cm diameter and let set for 2 hours.... pin curls are easy give it a try!

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy its just because I don't think I can find the things you used?

  • @Misfitmind oh you don't have to use the clips you can used regular pins... play around with it if you hair is fine then the iron might do but pin curls are fun and easy once you get the hang of it

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy oh so you can just use..like normal bobby pins and just leave them in for ages?

  • @Misfitmind well historically they just used bobby pins thats why they are called pin curls and you would just do them at night and then wake up with curled hair .... lasts longer and is less damaging than heat tools

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy thanks heaps for the advice :)

  • where did you get your dress?? or blouse?

  • @stphny92 Its a dress with a draped scoop back.... I found it at H&M but that was years ago

  • Really cute hair!

  • My short hair just does this, no pin curls needed haha

  • @HryPotrFreak oh so jealous!!!

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy haha don't be to much, my hair is also frizzy. It goes with the curls. Thank goodness for anti-frizz serum.

    But thank you :)

  • Shit stain

  • hey i love your tutorial and your hair, i have a very similar hairstyle to you, was just curious how long you suggest to keep the curlers in?

  • @kentendo1 I have thick hair so I just sleep in them

  • Really enjoyed this tutorial! You go girl, gonna give the style a shot!

  • love this very pretty as I have short hair that Im growing out I'm so going to try this thanks xo

  • u are so pretty

  • You are so cute, and this is a great tutorial!!

  • Hello I just want to say I pinned my hair and it came out GREAT! I love it and so does my husband..Here is my question..were do you order the bobbypins on Ebay? I've looked and could not find any..Thank you for your help!

  • *applaud*

  • Ooh looks so 90s fab at 2:30

  • Great tutorial, despite the audio glitch. Love the hair style, what style cut is it? Pincurls are so versatile, and I don't think it makes you look older at all.... it makes you look like you were plucked off the silver screen though ;)

  • @Nanidelle aw thanks so much, it's a very short version of what used to me call a "middy" basically the bangs are actually straight across the sides are done so the are the same length as the bangs when pulled straight out and the crown has layers that are also the same length as the bangs and side the back is only slightly longer cut in a U shape I think they would call this a box cut now a days because it has shingle layers so every section of hair is all the same length

  • srry but the look makes u look older

  • @99rukia99 yeah i totally get the associate to classic or retro as being older but I think vintage style is so beautiful I don't care :)

  • oh my gosh you're so beautiful!! And awesome hair!! What color and brand of red lipstick are you wearing :)

  • @torrow revlon matte in 006

  • You just pinned them and left them on for a while until they were curled ? It looks lovely!

  • @3LOADED i slept on them but you can just wear them 2-4 hours depending on your hair type

  • Your neat and gutsy to wear those styles. I cant even braid. Ponytails and headbands please. Your hair looks better short. This looks cute but I like pin curls curly if I had that talent! V. Lake look is also HOT. Take Care.

  • My hair much thicker but what kind of gel are you using? I felt intimidated in the shops and kept thinking gel or wax is for men!

  • @nlucky27 ask for a curl holding pomade that would be the best for you but remeber a little goes a long way, just warm a bit in your palms

  • love,love and love the video,hair, color wauuuu :))

  • Beautiful hair colour! You really couldn't bottle that.

  • I love your hair color! Can you tell me what color is it!? :D

  • @karowashere sorry grow it myself ;)

  • Could you give any tips of good books? :)

  • @missbs1 check out your city's reference or largest library - i'm lucky enought o live in one of canada's largest city's so our reference library actually has cosmetology books from the 50s - but anything from the westmore brothers they touched almost every famous face in the 50s

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy you can get them on aamazon

  • I want your hair color!!! You look like you could be marilyns sister!

  • im loving the tutorial but can u tell if the pin curls at the side going away from the face or towards the face?

  • @ninjakat89 towards almost all the looks are usually towards

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy ok thankyou so much! ur so pretty, im so gonna try to do this look today. for tomara! :) <3

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy one more thing, would u use two fingers or three fingers? so i can get the right size of curl, my hair is a bit shorter than ur original length

    :)

  • @ninjakat89 the short the hair the less fingers i usually only use one some times two for looser curls ... i would only use three on very long hair

  • This is exactly what I've been looking for! I've wanted a sassy vintage style, but all of the tutorials I've found were for long hair. This is just perfect, and is inspired by Marilyn to boot! Can't wait to try it out and wear it out for my birthday party on Friday night :D

  • @PrumpedPreenNPeachy

    Lol you're welome :D

  • You look like you should be Marilyn Monroe's sister!!!!!!! :) you look very much like the pretty girls in the 50s

I'm a girl but I'm not trying to sound homo!!! I'm just complimenting!

  • @TitanicExpert1912 haha well thanks so much

  • I really liked it. I loved the style! I'm going to try it out tomorrow!

Can i ask what hair dye do you use? I love the golden color you have.

  • @jyrki69el sorry a couple a people have asked and I'm sorry but i don't dye my hair

  • love the song! (:

  • This was wonderful!! I'm so happy see more vintage styling videos for *short* hair on YouTube! If you do decide to redo this to fix the audio (minor annoyance- the visual alone is so helpful!) could you slow it down a bit so we can see the direction you brush out all the curls? Thank you for posting this! :)

  • OMG! That is the prettiest golden blonde hair I'VE EVER SEEN! A nd I love your tutorial! <3

  • @ilumakeupgirl13 aw thanks so much!

  • what clips did you use for the pin curls? my hairs fine and sometimes bobby pins and other things just end up falling out of my hair. also did you sleep on those or just leave them in wet hair till they dried or what? thanks!

  • @nire321 i used double pronged alligator clips mentioned in my how to pin curl video and a go into detaila bout the differences between sleeping and wet set etc ... you should check it out cause there are a bunch of opt. depending on your hair type... i have thick hair

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy thanks all your styles are lovely!

  • what clips did you use for the pin curls? my hairs fine and sometimes bobby pins and other things just end up falling out of my hair. also did you sleep on those or just leave them in wet hair till they dried or what? thanks!

  • All those pin curls. :( I hate doing them.

  • i love your hair color

  • @bertyeonawire thanks! i grow it myself ;)

  • U look beautiful! Makes me want to cut my hair short and do that style!!!

  • @AlexandreaJade27 aw thanks thats sweet!

  • I absolutely LOVE your tutorial <3 <3

    And you look gorgeous :)

    xoxo

  • This is the CLOSEST Marilyn hairdo tutorial on youtube!

  • @anaiswu thanks i just wish i knew how to fix the audio... maybe i'll make a new one

  • Yay! so glad I found this, my hair is almost the same length as yours!

  • your hair is very nice :)

  • LOVE IT!

  • love your hair, its the cutest when you take it out of the rollers.

a little off topic but what foundation/powder do you use? your skin looks so luminous!

  • @TanyaTalentTime to be honest i think it might be the lighting but i used mehron hd with a beauty blender and just a little powder ( i usually rotate so i can't remember which) with a velour puff

  • I love this - gorgeous! x

  • It's so gorgeous!

  • you are GORGEOUS! really I cant' tell you how beautiful you are! wow....

  • You are so beautiful--I bet you're having a blast in Europe

  • @msglamazon45 thanks so much i'm back home on the 25th of august I can't wait to make more videos, i miss YouTube!!

  • is it just me, or does the video have a delay?

  • @polkadotpolka123 yeah sorry it does it uploaded wrong but i'm in europe for a few months and can't fix it right now sorry

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy no it's fine! it's just such a lovely hair tutorial, and it was just irritating me a bit, that's all. i've tried this hair out since i commented, and it was really pretty! though it wasn't as good as yours..... :D

  • I love the look on you!! :)

Suggestion: Start from the beginning. I am not sure this will look good with my hair because I am not sure how long your hair was to begin with also did you start with damp hair??

  • @silverlion thanks for the comment and the suggestion my hair is only an inch or two longer when its not curled . my hair was not really damp but i do use a good amount of setting lotion .... the basic idea of this look is smooth curls without alot of top volume and more volume at the ends but it can be recreated with any length hair... the deep side part is key to this look but was especially popular in that time period and in my opinion is very flattering to most people

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy Thank you soo much for replying I cant wait to try it :) My hair doesnt take curl very easily but I have never tried setting lotion thanks for the tip :D cant wait to see more of your videos :)

  • I'll try this one ;)

  • Very very Cute!!!!

  • will u fix the sound?:)

  • @Rsqueen223 yes i'm very sorry about the sound the video did not properly upload but i have the original video on my computer and i will reupload it.... unfortunately i'm currently in europe for work/ holiday so you may have to wait a little sorry

  • This is absolutely amazing! It's not fair though, your hair does exactly what you want it to! My hair would never look so perfect :'D <3

  • @doddleoddle no not at all seriously practice makes perfect , it will come trust me, my hair was a hot mess the first couple of times.... what issues are you having maybe i can help... my hair is stiff and thick so i get it sheared and thinned which really helps

  • @PrimpedPreenNPeachy I have long hair so I don't think I could do this :'D my hair is completely the opposite to yours, it's thin and flat, with NOOO volume ;[ I would do anything for voluptuous curls! :'D <3

  • Oh man you look like Roxy Heart! I love it!

  • Oh I just love you for using that song; Haha.

This is awesome; I was getting rather bored of my hair.

The lag on your voice is a little distracting though.

  • @ohmygoditsjo oh youtube is so annoying, I'm sure this is a new problem because it was working when i uploaded it.... sorry

  • Amazing! Just what I need to rejuvenate my grown-out bob for a 50s-themed party. I'm going to do a trial run now...

  • @ripher2shreds great let me know how it goes

  • This is beautiful, the colour of your hair is so unique!xxx

  • @MellyEmmyxx thanks so much, my mom is an actual redhead, so i have a little ginger in my hair

  • You look so cute!!

  • @thehyperannalaura thank you so much !

  • you're beautiful, really, I'm not a lesbian, it's just that you look great.

Besides that, when you curl you hair and comb it to your right, just before you start brushing it: THAT's the best look, I like it better that way.

I'm 'blonde' and just cut my hair so I CAN DO THIS TO MY HEAD! My hair is so straight, it hurts. Thank you so much. Sorry for my english, I'm from Argentina

  • @caramelicamente oh thanks so much that sweet of you to say and your english is beautiful!

this video was actually the very first time I had styled my new short hair , I usually do it a little different now. my hair is very straight too but it is very thick as well.

once I get my camera back I'll be filming a revised everyday look video, hope you like it!

    thanks for the message

  • Wow, you're so pretty and this is so cute! Needs more views! :)

  • @N0pperab0 thanks so much I always love to get comments and please feel free to send me any request, have a great day

  • My hair is very curly. Should I blow dry and straighten, THEN put it in the pin-curls?

  • @CinemaObsessed oh definately not your curly hair will create a great base for your pin curls, it is best if you wet set you hair, so I would start setting almost right out of the shower and use an extra hold setting lotion, the curls should come out great! if you can't do this over night i would suggest to get a hair dryer cap attachment from a beauty supply store so you can dry your hair with out crushing your curls.... hope this helps

  • @CinemaObsessed Hi my hair is very curly too and I've tried pin curls with a wet setting three times and it didn't turn out very good :( (The setting was okay, so it was definitely my hair that was too frizzy and not shiny when I combed it out.) So, what I basically do is to blow dry the hair using a round brush to tease the hair until it is (not perfectly) straight. I don't use a straightener after that. And then I do my pin curls/hot rollers and they always look good that way. Hope this helps!

  • Your hair looks gorgeous...stunning and shiny.:)

  • you look beautiful! btw i am colin asuncion's sister! i love your tutorials!!! you r amazing!!!
