Does anyone think that the writers of this story watched both "The Bucket List" and "Up" before compairing them? Both great movies but I don't see the connection, 1 has two old termanally ill men who come up with a list aftter meeting for ten minutes in the hospital the other has a married couple with a life long dream, animals, kids, and all that stuff. The asian guy was just jealous that he was not allowed to star in the movie... I mean seriously: Just because it's kids movie does not mean that it's supposed to have a shallow plot. The fact that Pixar is creating movies which can be enjoyed by children and adults is the reason why they are the best animation studio out there (in my opinion).

I always loved Pete Docter's (Monsters, Inc. and of course Up) films in particular have a whimsical, inventive, imaginative, Roald Dahl type of style when it comes to artwork and definitely his concepts/ stories. I'm a big fan of Roald Dahl's books and Pete's films kind of have that style if you know what I mean. For example, an old man having thousands of balloons in his house and him carrying the house around felt like a good old whimsical tale and I loved that.

That is exactly waht I was thinking. I think it's fine for adults and 5 year olds alike. The only difference with this movie is that it shows more intelligence and respect to the audience instead of just talking down to them. The 3D effect was also used very well. It was subtle but effective.
