  • In the Pope's defense (at least regarding McMahon's one comment) - didn't most of those kids (depends when he was in it, I should caveat) - get "forced" into it - in a sense ? - like their parents made them join - and they were young enough, that they didn't actually know the full extent of the evil the nation/military was doing in the world beyond ?

  • @AlekTrev006 While I very much doubt anyone in Nazi-occupied lands was completely oblivious to the 'disappearance' of the Jews, Gypsies, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, many Christians and other minorities, I don't expect the Pope was some purveyor of mass persecution at his relative age during the war.

  • @clackclickbang Exactly right, Gentleman. That's all I was getting at. I think such comments - from McMahonHater - are kind of awkward anyways - since it came out because you mentioned this RPG-Vampire group trying to weaken the power of the Church - in their fantasy game-world...... and it's just a bit ...odd...when people cram in semi-controversial "real-world" issues into a nice video on the RPG clan of Vamps. Anyways....good video, as usual.

  • @AlekTrev006 My thanks to you!

  • Since the new pope is a former Hitler Youth, I would say the corruption of the Vatican is running smoothly. We won't even mention the boy-lovers... oops, did I text that out loud?

  • @McMahonHater You did indeed. Controversial.

  • @clackclickbang Gotta keep it interesting :D

  • As far as the elders go, they make me think of what Wolverine said to Magneto in the first X-Men movie: "You're so full of shit! If you were really so righteous, it'd be you in that thing.".

  • @Blandhumanoid It's a very entertaining read.

  • Sounds like they belong in a John Carpenter horror film. "Okay now for the part were the decapitated head makes it escape. The hand will carry the head out around the corner and..." John that sounds like the The Thing meets Evil Dead. "Shhhh."

  • @TheHydra014 Yeah, but who doesn't love John Carpenter?

  • @clackclickbang John Carpenter is an awesome director, when you mentioned the crawling head all I could think was "You got to be fucking kidding me" and "I just cannot believe any of this voodoo bullshit."

  • would you be mad if in the new VtM they had wooden bullets? if you don't understand then go watch true blood lol.

  • @Chiived I've only seen the first season so far... It sounds poor.

  • @clackclickbang very much so

  • Ah. Ye Olde....new-e.....Vampire the Requiem stuff. Nice. As always, love the vids.

  • @eggmansizzle Thank you!

  • "Being what you really are" is happiness? That's pretty problematic, even if we put aside the complexities of what the first part of that axiom means. I would guess that some vamps are only content in resisting the beast within. One of the reasons I like WoD is that this kind of heady analysis is exactly at home in that setting. Personally, I find Ordo Dracul very compelling. Great presentation, as usual, squire!

  • @boltorange Oh I fully believe that vampires in Requiem are merely using humanity as a crutch. It's as forced as a vampire's breathing. If a vampire were to give in to his bestial nature he'd no longer have to struggle, he'd no longer have to resist that longing inside. No different than a drug user who knows that once he gets his fix he'll be happy all over again.

  • @clackclickbang Even among crackheads, a few are not content to feen.

  • @boltorange Ah, possibly so. Damn crackheads.

  • For me, Vampire: The Masquerade's sabbat had the same problem. The main rulebook and the Camarilla's guide portray them as frothing monsters lead by a few powerful schemers. Seemed pretty cut and dried at first.

Blandhumanoid and Ander certainly have expanded my sabbat education and now they're a deep and interesting group. In fact, due to the vinculum they may well be easier to handle for a storyteller than a Camarilla coterie who may have too much infighting.

  • @Onionkid99 Very true. Of course just because one pack of vampires gets on like a house on fire it doesn't mean they'll treat their fellow members of the Sword of Caine with any respect...

  • Perfect timing. I was writing up some plot hooks for the Brood seconds before I saw this video up. I love the "call" aspect of initiation into the Brood.

  • @DirtyBriefcase What a happy coincidence!

  • @clackclickbang More like a diabolical machination . . .

  • @DirtyBriefcase Bwa-ha-ha!

  • (continued) Personally i was never really thought of VII as anything more then a remake of the Black Hand from Vampire: The Masquerade.

  • @GeekerDays VII have slightly more depth, but they're definitely the bogeymen of the Requiem.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this review. I really felt the same way you did about the Brood. I had an opportunity to pick it up a while back but declined you have certainly given me reason to go back and get it now good sir. I don't suppose you have review of VII? personally

  • @GeekerDays I've not reviewed VII yet, but if you want me to do so I can add it to the list.

  • Awesome review, your World of Darkness reviews are all ways very detailed and well done, keep up the good work.

  • @bobspldbakwords My thanks to you for the compliment!
