this is bollocks i must admit, but to all the people saying this isnt original.. who said it was? im pretty sure they are just saying its the first time a dubstep dj has worked with an orchestra....
@Katatonie> aah the purist reply .I recall a huge debate over having Yoko Ono s voice on the Beatles Double White Album, Jon left it out , on the rest of the bands demand ... Things change fortunately , not in the way we would like sometimes.
I seem to recall a very low string was used to mimic the typical wobble bass in the version I heard rather than one just being mixed in. Are there more versions of this?
The drum beats aren't even in time when the main break down comes in, the sample of 'Innocence' sounds uber shit! sorry Nero, you two are good, but Electonic + Acoustic at that level doesnt go.
Ummm so where is the dubstep? Perhaps they mean the 50 seconds beginning at 4:53? Anyone thinking this is taxpayers' money well spent should see the youtube video of Bays Liverpool Philharmonic (which is improvised even!). Not DubStep but more DnB. This Nero thing OTOH is BBC + the London middle-class trying to buy itself street credibility... pretention at its ugliest.
@sqgl Nero is also DnB and just because that is the genre Nero is under does not mean that you are going to hear dubstep or DnB all of the time. The symphony clearly displays that
This hardly deserves to be called NERO'S symphony, out of this whole track hes only featured for just over a minute. Working with an orchestra is not a new idea, plenty of artists have done it and most the time they do a good job. This is a pretty poor effort if you ask me. If anything credit should go to the orchestra and conductor. I strongly suggest you check out paul van dyk and paavo jarvi hr orchestra to see how its done
@andyuk4h I don't think you realize the work and effort Nero put into this. He composed all the pieces and not only that made sure that when put together they sounded good. Jeff Mills only over looked it and gave him input on certain parts and pieces. Of course credit should be given to everyone, but Nero actually made some innovative and different by doing this.
@LaughingWater2 Yes, props to Nero. But music theory helps unmusical people create music that sounds good. They're guidelines, not rules. Also, I'd bet Nero knows a thing or two about music theory anyway
@jordanreynolds2007 well sorry if they actually had to re-mix the whole thing again so we cud hear the bass which is alright, but this version is fucking balls i waited 20mins for a decent drop. come on if they dropped with innocence actual bass line i wud love it

@WastedCentral try listening to the whole symphony, the best part is the innocence part and that's it.

There's no such thing as a "forward slash", Mr. Announcer.

@directmusic94 No, that's a slash. There are slashes and there are backslashes. "Forward slash" is redundant.

I'm amazed by the number of people in the comments thinking Nero is one person
