I am a very talented brick mason, and I have to say I was trying to figure out the inner buck system, and after seeing you use the sand was inspirational. Thanks, great job.
When I build mine I'll add a little portland to it, not enough to stick, but enough to hold a stronger form.
What was the part about Loam for the brick? Is it the type of sand you used for the mortar ? Love the way the Denton clan all pitched in! You must be proud!!!
Good job. Looks really nice. How many bricks did you used just for the oven? Just trying to work out the cost as want build one for myself. Many thanks. Peter
Hi mate, Yes the render did crack, but only due to the intence heat & has not weakend at all. Yes mate just normal pavers, & yes they have cracked to but only where i have the fire, put it this way it dosn't effect the oven what so ever. No special cement, icould only work on this on weekends so it had 5 days drying time, which i think helped. Mate all i did was watch HEAPS of youtube "How to lay bricks" & build a pizza oven & i just went for it & we love it.
this looks great, how is it now? did your render crack at all?. are the pavers on the floor just ordinary concrete pavers?, do you need special cement? maybe you can post a materials list for special materials, thanks for the inspiration . mike
