Fail. There's a HUGE difference between lowest and highest settings in W2 (I've experienced them both) and that can barely be appreciated by seeing this video. Nice video editing skills, triple6Games, but you missed the point of it, sorry.

@chaunceyjoejoe 5450 isnt a gaming card, its more of a HTPC card - look to invest in something a little more powerful like a 460, 6870, 560 and you should be ok
you can't see the difference in youtube, youtube videos are only 30 fps! and the resolution is the same, but the kbps are not the same, so the qualitiy is bad, if you play e.g crysis 2 on pc and ps3, you will think it's another game on pc
I thank god i found this video. I ran my computer through Can You Run It and it only shows the minimum requirements, not recommended. So i didn't know if i had to play on low or medium. A little less texture detail and no bloom affect, I'm finally gonna buy this game.
@killah20100 Mostly because the game is horribly optimized for PC.
My top-of-the-line rig has framerate issues on max settings simply because the game doesn't know how to utilize a quad-core processor or a dual-GPU setup.
Very disappointing, to say the least. I don't like having to turn things down, otherwise I wouldn't have spent all this time/cash on a maxed out gaming PC.
@knotwrite Oh...now I see why it runs badly on my machine too..and I was blaming my Raedon HD 6850 card , which definitely is not top of the line but is certainly capable to run this game on High settings. Thanks for your comment friend as it has put my worries about my rig to an end.

having played this game and switched between the 2 setting. i will say that high setting look drastically better. on thsi small youtube screen you wont beable to see the difference which is the detail of the texture (such as decorations on armor, scars on geralt) high setting also allow blur and antialiasing which smoothen rough edges. But still, low setting in this game require quite a machine to run smoothly and stil look better than 99% of the other game outthere
This video does not show the real difference... It is a horrible comparison... I have the game and the game looks so much better on Ultra than it is at low... So much more detail and texture, awesome lighting and just a all around better visual experience.
watching this makes me hate my pc. This game barely runs on the lowest settings for me. Always stuttering and freezing. Gotta wait for xbox version now with graphics lower than low on pc. :/

@fartmonkey200 Graphics arn't everything. I have a decent PC which can run the Witcher on Medium with a few things like textures turned up a noth. I also have a 360 and PS3. All of them have there uses. The PC is the powerhouse and the consoles have some brilliant exclusives they all have a place in my gaming space.
@NZLoneSniper its not just graphics, i agree. but the fps in games on xbox 360, and some on ps3, is too low to enjoy it. once you've played with smooth fps and quick reaction time on a PC, downgrading to an xbox or ps3 is a huge dissapointment.

@darkitachi50 It really doesn't look as good but for low settings It does look damn good. First time I put it on low just messin around I was blown away because I thought I didn't change settings from Ultra but then I noticed the difference in textures, objects on screen, particle loss, no depth of field, no motion blur, parallax mapping or bloom. The most beautiful title I have played to date hands down.
i was running this on 1920 by 1080 with most of the settings on medium to low and found it a bit choppy which is strange since my system is running 8gigs of DDR3, and I7 quad core and the ATI HD 5870 1GB card. i messed around a bit and found with my res at 1600 by 900 and all the settings cranked to the max it ran smooth as hell and looked absolutely stunning, i even had ubersampling on for awhile but it was just a bit choppy at times.
The textures on low are pretty good most of the time except on Gearalt's chest and a jar I saw. But ultra is awesome! Still the game would not be torturous to play on lower settings.
Of course you won't notice any difference if you are looking at a tiny video... the only way is to compare two uncompressed screenshots... but the game doesn't look bad on the lower settings, it just that you miss all the good effects like motion blur, dof, bloom, sunshafts...
@razzp25 jaja any problem with the 360? The trailer they released with the anouncement for this game on 360 shows some images of the game running on the console and it looks really good, the Skyrim gameplay on 360 also looks great so I'm happy with my old xbox.. Not everything is about graphics.. Wouldn't you like to play Red Dead Redemption or LA Noire on PC ? Even with those "awful" console graphics?
The video doesnt do the graphics any good in terms of comparison. I have ran this game on all the settings and High or Max has a significant amount of detail than the Low and Medium settings.
I was playing this yesterday for a couple hours and i noticed when i had a look at the settings they were all on low when i have a pc that can run it on max( except uber sampling), it looks that good on the low settings i dident even notice the difference.
Weird the posters rig is pretty solid and his fps is hurting on MAX.

@bennyho2810 because the gtx 560 is a "budget" graphics card. its not that powerful say compared to a gtx 580, 6970, 590, 6990.. so the 560 wont max alot of games with reasonable FPS. but that doesn't mean you NEED to max every game. new games will always push new hardware, kinda.
Runs playable on 4850 1gb with 6420 dualcore 2.1 GHz overclocked to 3.2Ghz and 4Gb ram with settings 1680-1050 and everything on high except ubersampling and ssd. (I can actuall turn ssd on certain places)
@setrakco from what i've heard of this game dude..i's say low, some people with beast systems lag...so don't know lol I think i should say good luck hope it runs smooth on low...

I have a (Good) i3 and a 5650m on my laptop, which can max out games like Dead Space 2 and such, but I don't think I'll be able to even run this even on low =/

How do you adjust more than resolution and brightness? cuz I play on like 1200x800 or something but if there are other things i could use to increase fps so resolution could still be nice i would love to do that
i have an asus g53jw: i7 740, gtx 460 1.5GB, 8GB RAM, and it lags like a mofo. I'm not sure if this game is broken, i saw videos on youtube and they run fine...I'm not sure if the copy i got is broken or there is something wrong with my settings. Even registering the product doesn't allow me, I cannot type in the space provided to register the game, even inputting the cdkey doesn't work at first but it eventually did.

@TheJakeSweede you should defiantly get better gameplay. AA is basically fake resolution so if you can turn up your res or even max it its better than having AA on. but i would just turn on fraps and sit there and tweak it i dont know if all highs will run perfectly but im sure a mix of medium highs would be just fine
@Triple6Games Why are u comparing vistas? There are least differences in them... you should compare textures in rooms etc... textures on low settings are horrible. Videos arent good way to show difference anyway :/.
@moppeez If you are using a nVidia graphics card there are supposedly problems with the 3D Vision drivers, that need to be uninstalled. Google for more help.
@moppeez same here. its bearable but it definitely makes fighting in crowds much harder when it stutters and u dont knw what the fuck is going on. i died with the dragon in the beginning like a billion times from that lol.
Clean install video drivers. Not just using Driver Sweeper in safe mode after initial uninstall of the old drivers but also CCleaner to get the few video driver registry entries that Driver Sweeper sometimes misses, and any other unused entries. ALWAYS back up registry before doing so. Also, set Ubersampling =1 in the User.ini; this gives almost the same benefit as the default of 2 but has no framerate impact. If you have 1GB of VRAM, set TextureMemoryBudget=800. 1200 for larger.

I turned off motion blur as well, but that's just personal preference. It was really annoying to me.

Now, I am only posting my specs because I run this game on my TV at 1080p (60hz) MAX settings w/ an Xbox 360 controller and I have never see any fps drop...
Maybe im just lucky.

Keep ubersampling and SSAO off and you can max everything else. I'm running 1080p like that on a GTX 275 runs perfect.

@bennyho2810 because the gtx 560 is a "budget" graphics card. its not that powerful say compared to a gtx 580, 6970, 590, 6990.. so the 560 wont max alot of games with reasonable FPS. but that doesn't mean you NEED to max every game. new games will always push new hardware, kinda.

Runs playable on 4850 1gb with 6420 dualcore 2.1 GHz overclocked to 3.2Ghz and 4Gb ram with settings 1680-1050 and everything on high except ubersampling and ssd. (I can actuall turn ssd on certain places)

I am runnig this game on ultra on fullHD, avarage 60FPS and it is not so good as someone think there is almost no diference between ultra and low.
My specs:
i7 2600k 4,2Ghz , GTX580 TwinFrozr OC 945/1890 , 8GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz

@mendeskt2 I am still very happy with my system ^^ also, it's not even running close to its peak yet.. I can go way higher with overclocking (both CPU and GPU) if there is need for it.

I'm nervous about getting this. It seems to be incredibly demanding, I honestly can't call a pc game good if it isn't made to run on at least average computers, from what I've heard this thing is demanding like i7s and such to maintain low settings =/
I have a (Good) i3 and a 5650m on my laptop, which can max out games like Dead Space 2 and such, but I don't think I'll be able to even run this even on low =/

@worksa7 oh it'll be fine goddammit, my specs? ati 4650 hd 1gig, and an athlon dual core 250, i was surprised i can run it on 1024 resolution, with high textures, bloom, godrays, and antialiasing, depth of field, and motion blur, then everything else at low and i was still able to tolerate the lag, i'm near the ending now, buy the game

Comment: yea having it set to low settings but still having it in1080p is gonna make seem really nice as well try turning down the res alittle bit thats when you will start to see the difference.

How do you adjust more than resolution and brightness? cuz I play on like 1200x800 or something but if there are other things i could use to increase fps so resolution could still be nice i would love to do that

i have an asus g53jw: i7 740, gtx 460 1.5GB, 8GB RAM, and it lags like a mofo. I'm not sure if this game is broken, i saw videos on youtube and they run fine...I'm not sure if the copy i got is broken or there is something wrong with my settings. Even registering the product doesn't allow me, I cannot type in the space provided to register the game, even inputting the cdkey doesn't work at first but it eventually did.

@TheJakeSweede you should defiantly get better gameplay. AA is basically fake resolution so if you can turn up your res or even max it its better than having AA on. but i would just turn on fraps and sit there and tweak it i dont know if all highs will run perfectly but im sure a mix of medium highs would be just fine

@moppeez I'd suggest turning off uber sampling, Vsync and AA.. but if you say it even lags on low then I don't know...

@Triple6Games Why are u comparing vistas? There are least differences in them... you should compare textures in rooms etc... textures on low settings are horrible. Videos arent good way to show difference anyway :/.

@moppeez If you are using a nVidia graphics card there are supposedly problems with the 3D Vision drivers, that need to be uninstalled. Google for more help.

Clean install video drivers. Not just using Driver Sweeper in safe mode after initial uninstall of the old drivers but also CCleaner to get the few video driver registry entries that Driver Sweeper sometimes misses, and any other unused entries. ALWAYS back up registry before doing so. Also, set Ubersampling =1 in the User.ini; this gives almost the same benefit as the default of 2 but has no framerate impact. If you have 1GB of VRAM, set TextureMemoryBudget=800. 1200 for larger.
