  • I like it..Glad I found it..I am a Cousin To William Travis..Whos name was passed onto me.. God Bless TEXAS..Victory or Death!!!!

  • Well done! A very interesting video. The only negative thing is that the music was just a bit too loud and sometimes made it difficult to make out what the narrator was saying.

  • Good vid! thanks!

  • With the greatest respect, as a military historian, I have to tell you that most of your information is wildly inaccurate. There never was a line in the sand and most of the defenders died outside of the mission during two heroic break outs. They were massacred by Mexican dragoons and lancers and their bodies burned where they fell. One defender (a Fenchman) fled and the last man to die was an English jew.

  • @rouseg7 Actually, what you said is more left to interpretation. It's neither confirmed nor denied that a line in the sand was drawn, though both Enrique Esparza and Susanna Dickinson claimed he did so (years later, so that makes it questionable), and it's estimated around 50 men escaped and were cut down by lancers and dragoons outside the fort. Odds are most of the men died inside the Alamo walls. We know at least Bowie, and Travis did, more than likely Crockett as well.

  • @RileyRandom Crockett died in the court yard of the Alamo. He wore and odd hat as it was called, a stove pipe foxtail hat with no brim. This is reported by Susanna and the odd hat by others as well.

There is an acount of a defender in an odd hat shooting down many Mexicans, and never missing a shot. Davy's body is in the court yard just after the battle (joe, ben? and Susanna).

  • @Tellgryn They both reported seeing him, yeah, but in the lower courtyard in front of the church. However we can't be sure. Jose de la Pena claimed he was executed after the battle, other say he was along the west wall or north wall. We just can't be sure. It's more than likely he died in front of the church.

  • @RileyRandom The second part of the Pena letters are fake and not to be trusted at all. A number of Alamo documents were forged in the middle 30's into the 1950's. The Pena letters (2nd part) do not stand up under close examination, as do many other accounts.

Like many battles we will never know everything that happend at the Alamo, but we can with the the aid of our knowledge today eliminate most fakes. If not for the money spend on the Pena letters, it would have long been in the dust.

  • @Tellgryn Well yeah, I know. My point is that there are conflicting stories from all over. We just don't know. That's part of the mystery of The Alamo. :)

  • @Tellgryn too true.

  • @RileyRandom Who estimated that 50 men escaped the walls?

  • @rouseg7 WHAT????? The bodies were burned in 3 pires, not "where they fell." As for men escaping, while it has been claimed that 12-14 men exited the S."wall" and were killed in a cottonwood thicket, the only KNOWN person to have tried to escape during the battle (as told by Reuben M. Potter) jumped off a low point on the E. side of the chapel and had a girl child wraped in a sash. They both were killed almost instantly before they could make cover in the drainage ditch there.

  • to high music...otherwise it was good..

  • Davy Crockett was the Chuck Norris of his day.

Crockett could whip his weight in wild cats

He once rode a lightening trail.

And most of all, "Kilt him a bar when he was only 3."

  • very well done!

  • Listen you 2, it isn't worth fighting over. We both know Mexico has better places to live than the U.S. And we both know that not all Americans are stupid. And if you want to talk about a good place to live, just come to Canada. Here we feed everyone and send them to school, fixing everything. A proposito, me mudaré a Mexico este año. Mucho mejor ahí que en ese país entre nosotros jaja. So anyways, I just wanted to say, GOOD PROJECT!!

  • And you Canadians come to the US for health care and for jobs.

  • This is true though Canadians don't lose their house when they do. Big difference.

  • Canada is great, the U.S. is meh, but Mexico is a poverty stricken hell hole. No Canadians are sneaking over the border to mooch off U.S. government funds, but thousands of Mexicans are. Mexico sucks and you know it.

  • Remember the ALAMO No Surrender and God Bless Texas no matter what is said the men who faught for freedom were brave men keep the LONE STAR FLAG FLYING HIGH

  • God bless Texas. Screw Mexico.

If I had to live in that poverty-stricken, corrupt piece of crap country, I'd try to sneak into the U.S., too. Too bad so many trashy Meskins ruined it for all the poor dirty Mexicans who aren't worthless thieves. Now that the border laws are getting stricter, I guess you and your familia will never have a chance to sneak across the border. Shucks.

  • "Irak"? Really? Wow. That doesn't move me one bit. "Irak" has nada (to use a word you know) to do with MY country, but nice try. Mexico is a poverty-stricken piece of crap country who everyone in their right mind is trying to leave. Get real.

  • Primero que nada imbecil First of all Imbecil, no sabes nada acerca de México You don't know nothing about Mexico asi que quedate, el albañal al que pertences so stay in to the sewer that seem to belong.

  • But...but...I want to go to Mexico and live in a cardboard box and eat beans and dirt. Please!

  • Que aburrido eres hijo de puta, no mereces ni un segundo mas de mi atención, por mi, metete tu puto pais en el culo y que te aproveche, haz de tener mierda en vez de neuronas

  • Go back to your third world hell hole .

  • lol i just learned how to play that song on guitar

  • such bullshit its funny!

  • Bastards thieves, only lies.

  • Then y'all lazy greasers shouldn't have lost the war.

  • You don't learn a thing, no wonder!

  • Learn what bitch, Texas is part of America not mexico

  • So far, check up the statistics, the gringo population is increasingly aging while the mexicans are in it's prime of age. Furthermore subnormal, America is not only the old fucking US obey, but a continet far beyond. Ha ha ha ha

  • So what, even if there are less whites,Texas will still be part of America

  • Use your brain mongoloid, Tejas is part of America, the continent named after Americus Vespusius

  • Mongloid? That's funny coming from a mestizo, Texas is part of the U.S.A

  • At least seems to be that you learn something U.S.A. is NOT America, Americans are the people from all the continent, congratulations. Furthermore, I'm descendent from basque inmigrants in the 19th century and castilian capitanes in the 16th, but hey I'm proud to be culturally Meztizo. Learn bigot

  • Listen asshole, you're the one who hates a whole country, because yall lost a war to it

  • I don't hate you Pancho, just I'm triing to open a discussion regarding mexican history. History is always two or more interpretations, furthermore I apologize to you if my comments contains insults and bigotry. But, as mexican I always support the point of view of my country.

  • That's all right, I guess I see things from an American point of view

  • As much as I see the mexican point of view I think is important to know the other side of history. We belong to a two diferent countries, with totally diferent visions, but we share 2000 miles of border, USA will always be there, the same is for Mexico.

  • You are right about that

  • As far as WE "AMERICANS" are concerned THE USA IS America, you (meXs) don't count!!!!! DIG IT???? Why is it that the wets are always sayin Los Americanos???? Referin to people from the USA!!! SEE they know!!!!! PENDEHA!!!!!

  • LOL, you such a racist basterd. You can't say you are fully amercian because the real americans are the native americans. Man, don't you think at all?

  • Excellent!!!

  • Don't know if you noticed but there was s;avery in Yucatan(Mexico).

  • After 1812 the institution of slavery do not exist in Mexico, nor in Yucatan, what happens there was a a sistem to keep the mayan peasants in debt, so they cannot leave the hacienda. They landlords try to secceded from Mexico, to gain ful control of it, but Mexico defeted the bastards

  • well the texans defeated you bastards... whats the difference your no different to usa as the mayans were to you.

  • Another one? Texan? well, try to use english language in a better way, repeat after me: I'm an idiot. Then make an opinion imbecil

  • Yes, that's right. You're an idiot. A Mexican idiot.

    That's called "self-realization", alejmonzon.

  • There is another imbecil triing to make a comment, try something useful, brain surgery, for a start

  • Learn to spell, fool.

  • I'm American

  • The official toll, according to the History channel and the scholars that have studied the Alamo...US around 200 dead, Mexico...60 dead and 240 injured. Mexico had troops of 4,000. The filibusters were to Mexico what Al-Quada is now to the US. Mexico send troops to punish the revolt...so did the US.

  • it was 350 dead

  • AZTLAN.2012

  • Cual Aztlan?

  • If you take a piece of MY country and make it into your own twisted version of what you think Latinos deserve from the US, mark my words dear boy I shall be on the first tank riding in to suppress your banana revolution. God forsake Aztlan.

  • "Former Tennessee congressman David Crockett arrives at the Alamo with a group of volunteers" cited from the web site Daughter of the Republic of Texas. In the name of god what kind of bussissnes had a folk from tennessee in a land that in that time belong to Mexico: Filibustering!

  • If you have forgotten,Mexico invited the colonists, and they were there to help the Texans gain their freedom.

  • Mexico invited the colonist naive we were, that was our mistake, the colonist, at lest the group under the Austin leadership, obtain generous land grants and Mexican citizenship, to help Mexico against its enemies foreign and domestic, not to become one, or "invite" illegal aliens to take arms against Mexican authorities, kill Mexican soldiers, and finally dispossess our nation of a part of its territory, they were traitors and criminal elements

  • I'm waiting! or there is no more arguments?

  • Yes,but Santa Anna was a dictator and he suspended the Mexican constitution.

  • No doubt Santa anna was a dictator, but the problem here is that from an internal problem the demotion of mexican constitution of 1824, a group with no bonds in mexican society, enter to México to kill mexicans triing to separate mexican territory. They do not help mexicans to create a democracy, instead stole our land and reintroduced slavery in Texas.

  • You know your stuff. I support you!!

  • When we drop an a-bomb on Veracruz you won't be laughing.

  • I'm laughing by the fedayin improvised explosive devices kicking your butt in Irak, I already laugh a lot by the vietcong, really give you a lesson your politicians and and people like you didn't learn. War is asimetric imbecil, and hey US navy already bomb 1914 Veracruz, the other heroic cadets from naval academy and comun folks defend again national teritorial integrity. Ha ha ha ha

  • Ha ha ha ha.A couple thousand Texan colonists were able to defeat mexico.

  • A couple thousand of slavist were able to slave people such heroes!

  • Like the mexicans.

  • Mexico, mexican soldiers, at the gates of El Alamo represent freedom for all mankind, upholding mexican institutions and legal prohibition of slavery against a band of intruders and a fistful of traitors.

  • Took a civil war inside US to do what mexican already did, freed slaves in 1810, by Father Hidalgo, Spaniard constitution of 1812 and the mexican constitution of 1824, numbers wrote at the mexican banner display by the the mob inside the Alamo. A constitution that ban on slavery, but inside the alamo the mobsters, at least mantain in slavery one african american. No we are totally diferent, we are not hipocrites.

  • And with this I rest my case

  • Then why did Yucatan also rebel against mexico.

  • To control the indian mayan population, in fact, mayan indians rebel against the so called Casta Divina (Divine Chaste), the land owners of the henequen trade by many years, in a conflict know Guerra de Castas (Chastes War)and at least the yucatan independists were people born in Yucatan

  • "Former Tennessee congressman David Crockett arrives at the Alamo with a group of volunteers" cited from the web site Daughter of the Republic of Texas. In the name of god what kind of bussissnes had a folk from tennessee in a land tha in that time belong to Mexico: Filibustering!

  • And they rebelled against Mexico.

  • n May 1835, Zacatecas rose in revolt against president Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, who had suspended the Mexican Constitution and established a dictatorship. Santa Anna crushed the rebels. He then rewarded his troops by allowing them two days of rape and pillage in Zacatecas, during which more than 2000 civilians were killed.

So, when you talk about the Alamo, remember it was not an 'us against them' sort of situation. Many Mexicans, as well as Texians fought against Santa Anna.

  • many MEXICANS REAL MEXICANS FROM MEXICO NOT ALABAMA, GEORGIA, NEW YORK check the birthplaces of the people executed in El Alamo, none of the granted mexican nationality, in other words were FILIBUSTEROS, less that 3 were texans natives, TRAITORS.

About attrocities read regarding the Sherman path through Georgia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And they all kicked your brown ass.

  • Such bigot, such ignorant,

  • Learn how to fucking spell mexican, and the men who died at the Alamo were not traitors.

  • try to separate part of the national territory from Mexico, while this people retain its citizienship is in any nation Treason, and need to be treat to the high punisment as we did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It is against the laws of war to kill catured prisoners.

  • Not at all, in 19th century, fire against a white banner in the hands of a parlamentary triing to end the conflict in peace was enough causus belli to call to war to death. Were the people inside the Alamo who set the rules of engagement, they call war to death, as a consecuence of fire against a peace paralmentary, we mexicans aknowledge that by flag a small black triangular banner. War to death then will be! And was becouse the acts of the traitors and bandits inside the Alamo

  • Didn't help y'all win yhe war.

  • Not then, but in a matter of less of a generation more than 40 millions of mexicans will be living in the US, and since the anglo population is increasingly aging, by now numbers are in our favor. El que rie al último rie mejor

  • You won't be laughing when a mushroom cloud rises over Veracruz.

  • Most people forget that at the same time Texas was not the only Mexican state to secede from Mexico and declare independence. The Mexican states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas would also withdraw themselves from Mexico and would form their own short-lived federal republic called the Republic of the Rio Grande. The Mexican state of Yucatán also seceded and formed the Republic of Yucatán.

  • What!!!!!!!!!! NEVER I MIND NEVER I ever read about that Republic of the Rio Grande, instead, bandits, adventureres from the US, try to secceded territories from México, before and after the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

  • Fuck you, like Mexico never had slavery.

  • Thats what I try to say Spain, in the Cadiz constitution of 1812 abolish slavery, prior to thar Father Hidalgo in Guadalajara, order the freedom of slaves in 1810. In the first federal constitution of 1824, abolish slavery, the the so called seven acts (las siete leyes) in 1835, in the constitution of 1857 to the 1917, we mexicans abolish all forms of slavery, no the so called anglo texans, thats the so called chistians I mentioned

  • Remember el Alamo, remeber the african americans enslaved by the so called christians first ilegally after by law. such Chrstians

  • could we stop the flaming please?

  • i agree

  • Quit your bitching cunt,we won both wars, and what you beanersdid in Yucatn wasn't exacty Chistian.

  • That's right.REMEMBER THE ALAMO.

  • I remember those cowards that fought in the Alamo hahaha after all your goods come from bloody hands! And your people still call them self christians.Manifest destiny,Monroe doctrine America lost there so called patriotism by the early 1800's

  • Americans have never lost their patriotism. I have no problem with the Mexican people or the country of Mexico. America is a place of freedom, and ideas we don't always deliver on those. We don't owe the world anything we are just trying to make our own way in this world just as you are. I'm from a small town ten miles away from Davy Crockett's birthplace. I've learned a lot about the history of the Alamo. We helped people gain freedom.

  • Viva El alamo Viva Slavery legally reintroduced after the so called Texas Independence and abolish in the Méxican territories since 1812 a glory cellebrated by this place, defend by slave holders, bandits and rackets

  • Slavery existed in Egypt until 1960. White slaves were still held. All countries have done horrible things. America is a place of ideals like freedom. I think its great your patriotic for your country but bashing another country just makes you sound insecure and weak. God bless America, and Mexico, and for that matter the world.

  • Fuck Mexico.

    Fuck Santa Anna.

  • I'm sure they would findsome other place to go and fuck up.

  • The defenders of Alamo deserve all the credit for such heroic resistance. But Croatia (the country in Europe opposite Italy) has had loads of such battles and heroic struggles in her history. I made a movie about the most notable of those, so check it out: just type in: ''Nikola Subic Zrinski - battle of Siget''

  • very nice vid

  • Than God Texas ain't part of Mexico anymore, or it would be a shithole like the rest of Mexico.

  • That's funny!!! and true!

  • You Got it Wrong It Wasent 3,000 Men It was 6,000 MExican Soldiers

  • It's absolutely right. Like it or not, IT'S still Mexico. The "Texans" were NOT AMERICANS, just gringos who wanted to steal yet more land because Mexico didn't allow slavery, and gringos are incapable of manual labor.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO means REMEMBER MEXICO

SIEMPRE RECORDAR COMMANDANTE ANTONIO LOPEZ DE SANTA ANNA, y SUS SOLDADOS VALIENTES, y QUE PASO AYI!!!!!!!

  • Don't be ridiculous. If Texas were still part of mexico, where would the illegals go to sponge?

  • COMMANDANTE ANTONIO LOPEZ DE SANTA ANNA, y SUS SOLDADOS es pinche stupidio pendahoes. Besse me culla.

  • and the first one to sneak in texas were the one that were crossing the red river first. they were also the first wet backs. remember the alamo. god bless texas and usa. i love history

  • if you love history as you say you do, you must surely know that texas, california, nevada, etc, belonged to mexico before, right? and you must surely know that the con. of 1828 allowed foreigners to stay in mexico and work the lands, right?

how do the gringos respond to mexicos kindness? by starting a revolution in its territory!.

but thats just typical of gringoland... if they want something, they make an excuse to get it.

    latest excuse: irak´s oil.

  • you right. i agree

  • Excellent video Remember The Alamo and Honour those who faught for a just cause.

    God Bless Texas

  • Well Iam sure the mexicans have made up for this

with these immigrants sneaking across the border

to the USA for a better life

  • is the mother land who is calling us do you know how the alamo was taking before santa anna arrived. if you do not know. you only see what you want to see. the mexican army came to take what those guys want it to take. the phrase remember the alamo belong to the mexicans cause they remember how the alamo was taking.

  • Two eyewitnesses saw Travis draw the line, including Louis Rose and Susanna Dickinson, both of whom survived.

  • did you win?

  • Great report Fellas--forget Louis Rose--didn't happen! and the sword in the sand! read Thom Lindley and Bill Groneman's books for follow up. Excellent Researchers. Good Job!

  • The"line in the sand" is much like Crockett's coonskin cap;it's part of the legend.

  • The "line in the sand" with the sword is under lots of contraversy.
