Cool video. The song is very fitting - most of the great throwers of the last 30 yrs. have been busted at one time or another for doping. I got out of the sport after college after the 1992 Olympics, when all three medalists in the shot were banned at one time or another for 'roids. I competed against one of them: Mike Stulce, who won the gold. Few people even know who he is today. Don't take drugs - the gold isn't worth it.

I'm in 8th grade and I throw the 1k discus around 114ft, but i'm switching to the 1.6k for an upcoming competion but i'm not getting very good results with it. Can someone please tell me how to improve with the 1.6k.

Going from the 1Kg to the 1.6Kg takes some practice you will be off balance, won't be able to rotate as far, etc. You need to keep practicing. How do you throw the disc? Do you use a standing throw, half turn, South Africa or Full 1.5 rotations?

Oh yeah my track season is finally over. My farthest throw was 125' 7" officially and 142' unofficially

This is my first year throwing the discus and I normally use a standing throwing position, but i'm trying to incorperate the the full rotation to acheive the maximmum power and distance.

114 with the 1Kg is pretty good, you just need to practice and keep practicing. What is it about the throws that is making them bad? (other than the discus not going far)

For example it goes outside the vector, is really high, the disc flys on an abnormal angle, etc

@Undertanker01 men throw between 58 and 74 normally. the mens world record is 74.04 i believe. if im wrong someone correct me and the womens world record is 76

if by flawless you mean he throws while his body is in the air with no base or block...wilkins was a great thrower, no one can doubt that but his style of throwing is risky, either you hit a big one or your throwing with your feet off the ground

well, i'm actually throwing based on the german school. before this i threw based on spining on the ground, now i throw based in a technique that schult riedel and the others throw: pushing you to your front, jumping forward. you get much more speed and power to your finish.
