Just ask Don he has a cobalt his friend took it for a spin and it started puffing out blow smoke from the exhaust, that's a shitty cobalt burning oil for you.     There are one or two Boosted TC's, black, dumped...very sexy. It's still IMO not worth it, I'd rather spend that money on a WRX or even in some cases an STI/EVO, it's just my opinion though.

  • @sleepisyummy No not really, you'd have to to dump a lot of money into them for a turbo kid to boost it over 300hp, which STI comes with STOCK. The ones I've seen are only pushing maybe 250hp, or so. Granted small build, but it's cheaper. This is why I say boost a RSX-S, you'll see better and faster results for the same price. Scion TC as a car over all is a fail. Some dude I know bought a purple one for $30,000.00 in 2007. BRAND NEW, today it has only 9k miles on it lol.

  • @MikeHuntIsItchy You need a turbo kit and that's it for 300-350whp. STI comes with 300hp, not 300whp. tC on 8-10lbs of boost is 300whp easy and walk all over an STI. Walk on an Evo, 350z, S2k...etc. I should know, I've done it. How did he manage to pay $30k for a car that only cost $16?

  • @rhythmnsmoke haha I need STI is 300/300 not WHP. I'm just saying, the STI motor internals are built to handle more power then lets say a TC, you know that's true. You may have extracted 300whp from 8-10lbs but you have to admit not everyone will get those numbers, it's all about what set-up you're running. There is a dude here at 8psi made 250whp, which isn't to bad I'm sure he has a tiny ass turbo. I have no idea how he managed to pay so much, maybe he got ALL warranties possible?

  • @MikeHuntIsItchy At some point, all blocks have to be built if you want to push the car. For the tC, that mark is around 350-400whp. And for the most part, you will find ALL turbo tC's at 8-10lbs of boost, pushing 280-300whp/300wtq. I use to run a 16G turbo, which is small of course. On 7lbs put down 250whp/260wtq. Naturally depending on the dyno these numbers will vary.

  • @MikeHuntIsItchy Speaking from a Dynojet dyno perspective, that's average numbers for a turbo tC. Don't mix up the Supercharger with the Turbo setups, cause the Supercharged tC is substantially slower and less powerful. And don't see how even with all warranties he managed to pay $30k. You do know that's not normal right? Perhaps he had no credit or poor credit and the dealer dicked him over. But no normal person has paid over $20k w/options for a tC.

  • @Tj1056 There are stock motor tCs making 400whp, so your "a lot more" is inaccurate. It ain't all about power either. Weight, gearing...etc play major parts in it as well. The STI weighs a good 500+ lbs more than a tC. It takes a 300whp tC to keep up with a 400+whp STI (in a straight line that is). Speaking from experience here.

The tC handles 350-400whp on stock internals. And what are you talking about 25psi is going to net same whp as a bigger one on 25psi....no they don't. 25psi on say a 20G turbo is not going to make the same whp as a GT35R on 25psi. It's called CFM's.

A tC doesn't need 25psi kid. At 8-9lbs of boost it makes 300whp/300wtq. You can't compare PSI on two Totally different cars. 25PSI on a tC is not the same as 25PSI on an Evo, STI, S2k...etc. 25PSI is anywhere from 500-600+whp. tC's internals breaking at 250tq BAHAHAHA!!!

  • @Tj1056 My tC was pushing 300whp/290wtq at 9lbs of boost on my old turbo setup. I ran that setup for 3yrs on the stock motor. That was a 20G turbo. My new setup that I'm currently installing is a GT3076R turbo on the PTuning RS setup. I've got over 60+ vids me racing my tC against various cars. I've been racing it for nearly 5yrs now. I know what it's capable of handling, and 250wtq is laughable. Every turbo tC out there is pushing on average 270-300wtq with 300whp. They handle 350-400.

  • @Tj1056 Go read about turbos, you maybe will learn something about CFM's. A 25PSI is 25PSI but on a turbo with higher rating CFM's, 25PSI on a higher CFM turbo will make more power. You need to research first, then comment second. And don't speak about the tC until you have actually learned about it.

    Man it amazes me how many people I come across on here who try and tell ME what my own car is capable of, when they don't even own one, nor race one. Amazing...

  • @Tj1056 A 20G can't even push the same PSI as a GT35R. I was talking about Power at the same boost levels. 15lbs on a 20G turbo will not be the same hp as a GT35R on 15lbs of boost. PSI is PSI, but power is not the same, nor is PSI the same power when talking about two totally different cars. Some of these cars come with like 14lbs of boost from the factory and they make like 230whp. 14lbs of boost on a tC is 360-380whp. Totally different car.

  • yea b series motor's are good i have a GSR in my integra but i want a k20 swap soon they are safer to boost and they are bigger without port and yes with k pro it can be a beast i love the k series motor i cant wait to get mine !!!!!

  • Some K's have sleeved pistons and DOHC i-VTEC on both intake and exhaust valves, these get the most benefit from F/I. K20A2 RSX Type S is an example. Same with some B series(excluding the i-VTEC).

And to mercsan117 I have race stock and modifed evos and all they see of me its just the rear end of my car so if your evo has to have 20psi to even try to keep up with a rsx-s turbo its a shame. Honda/Acura Rules!!!

  • well when you mod rsx with turbo your power to weight ratio will drop and you will be as fast or faster the a stock evo but when you run against a modded evo pushing 28 psi and putting down 350 whp and 330wtq sorry but your 13 sec rsx won't keep up with my 11 sec evo. agreeded honda's are great cars but they don't rule.

  • No honda's do rule If you put 28PSI in a K20Z1 or a K24a you will undoubtedly have over 500whp. It takes massive boost to make an evo fast, where as anothe 2L only takes 9psi to make more hp that the 4G makes at 22PSI. But the 4G63 is the craziest 4cyl in the world, but Honda's are better because they don't need a iron block with 8000lbs of boost. Honda is much better than mitsu, The S2k and NSX are held in higher regard than the EVO and 3000GT.
