great tribute. to think what the company may have become if iacocca had done what it seems like everyone thought he shouldve done when looking his successor and picked bob lutz rather than eaton. as a true american car guy, id love nothing more than to be able to see chrysler be able to sustain themselves for the long term as GM and ford have done in the past rather than having the get sky high then crash type history theyve had since the beginning of the 70s.
Chrysler made (and still makes) some great cars. But since the 50's they've been boom or bust--a few good years, a few bad years. Ironically, the best year they ever had, profit-wise, was right before Daimler took them over. In my view, Daimler ravaged the company, left it to twist in the wind. And how can you say Obama may have killed the company, when he actually was instrumental in keeping it going, for better or worse? I've wasted time buying foreign vehicles but never will again.
Whoever made this video-turd not only knows just enough history to be dangerous, but almost nothing about the current management and ownership structure at Chrysler. Even the actual video production itself sucks... Nice picture of Iacocca, 20-years after leaving the company! BTW, lay the blame on Robert Eaton for ruining the company, not Dieter Z (although he too can roast in hell for all I care).
Hey Einstein, the whole point of this video was to express my displeasure with the scumbag that is in the White House and the whole "new world order" thing. Blame Eaton and Dr. Z. all you want, the real blame lies with the power brokers who want a one-world government. It's time to wake up and see what's going on around you.
When Ford brought back the 2 seater Thunderbird, and the Mercury Marauder, both failed for the same reason: no suitable- high - performance engine. Both cars were scheduled to recieve supercharged V-8's, but , that idea was scrapped... why ? because some woman in the Ford family that's in upper management doesn't like high-performance cars. So , what does Ford do ? they put a supercharged V-8 in , of all things, a PICK-UP TRUCK !!!
I'll tell ya EXACTLY how. Because that's what our nation has become - a society content with mediocrity. Out of the 14 new vehicles I've purchased, NONE of them came from Ford and ALL of them came from either Dodge or Chevy. Why? Because I have always wanted something a cut above mediocrity. I still don't understand why it is that people are willing to settle for mediocrity but I guess it's all just another part of the "dumbing down" of America, all brought to you courtesy of the liberals.
I used to think the same thing but the way things are going, I don't want to see ANY U.S. automaker go under. Ford is actually the only U.S. auto manufacturer that has their act together right now.
Hey, they said Chrysler was dead in 1980. It wasn't. In fact, there was one hell of a lot of kick in the old mule. There still is. Yeah, Obama got his kicks in, trying to destroy it while favoring his union thugs, but Chrysler will be back.
1980 was a completely different deal. Now Chrysler is about to be dumped off on Fiat, which can't even manage itself anymore and is shopping itself to TaTa in India. Chrysler has already sent it's customer servive over to India. I can only imagine what it will be like when it is owned by TaTa. May she forever rest in peace.
god! can u believe that fiat is buying chrysler?!?!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!? thats not right! fiat = mopar? NO! if i see a fiat at a mopar show im going to key it,and set it on fire! and to think pontiac is dead too...
Ummmmmmmm...excuse me here but there will be no vandalizing of any vehicles. Regardless of how badly this whole deal sucks, there is absolutely no reason to vandalize someone's car.
I totally understand. Instead of getting all irrational, we all need to band together and get the word out to the American public to stop buying Japanese cars and to stop electing democratic liberals like Obama to elected office. America is being taken over by people who want to destroy our way of life. The democratic party has to be stomped out once and for all and we need to get back to traditional conservative American values.
somebody needs to start a website and every body who likes not just mopars but every body who loves american muscle we should take a stand and start somethin that can get the point across that we are destroying things that we as the usa has tried to protect and were letin even the japs and shit take our stuff becuase ignerant people all there buyin foreighn cars and shit were losin american auto companys to them soon wel be controled by japs cause all were doin is roinen the future of the usa
Fiat isn't buying Chrysler at all. In fact, it's a minority partnership. They share only one management between them, Marchionne. And he happens to actually LIKE Chrysler.
Well, you're wrong. Fiat is not going to "run Chrysler". In fact, there's only two men in the whole of management who are heads of departments who have anything to do with Fiat, and that's Marchionne and a guy from Case New Holland. Fiat isn't running Chrysler at all. In fact, Marchionne says that Chrysler has all it needs right in house. Just some sharing between Fiat and Mopar. Even the Mopar brand now has a top level president, equal with the car brands.
It's nice to see that you're so optimistic but just sit around and watch what a disaster the whole scenario of Fiat and the U.S. government turns out to be. Trust me, you won't recognize the Chrysler that you will see and the vehicles that they produce. Like I have been saying, ol' Walter P. is spinning around in his grave.
The government stake in Chrysler is relatively small. I agree, federal control = disaster, but they're going to be occupied iwth their majority ownership of GM, and I think Chrysler will simply vanish off the radar screen for the feds. Still, absent the feds being their normal gross stupidity and imposing it on Mopar, it looks like Marchionne and company will do well.
I have to see this video every day, Im just so sad these days, depressive and I got the summertime blues. God bless Chrysler, GM and Ford my favourite was Dodge... Now we have only an awful future ahead, I can feel it, They really was the most iconic america had, now China is taking over and the world will become a grey place... DAMN! Everything I love is getting destroyed nowdays! I too will make a tribute video soon!
Yup, it's all but over now. In a few more weeks, the bits and pieces of Chrysler will be split up amongst Fiat and TaTa of India. One of the greatest American corporations of all time is gone forever. Look for G.M. to go down the tubes next as the Obama administration continues it's march towards socialism and "globalization". My next video may end with "R.I.P. America".
im in pure shock i cant believe it it is true, coming from a Mopar guy, who has a Mopar family,,,, proud owners of 68 Charger R/T 73 Charger, se 2001 dodge Ram 1500, 1998 jeep cherokee laredo, 1998 jeep Cherokee, 1984 Dodge Ram 360 snow plow, and my brother has a 2000, Dodge van,, so your meaning to tell me like how pontiac went down the tubes Chrysler Dodge and Jeep are out Forever,? i cant grasp this its too sad
Chrysler is supposed to "emerge" from the "reorganization" within sixty days or so. The dealer network is already on the verge of collapsing. Once they come out of bankruptcy, it will only be a matter of a few months before the all remains of Chrysler are gone forever. Jeep will probably live on but will be owned by someone else, maybe even Ford. These are some really, really sad times.
Why didn't Obama give the bailout? Flippin' idiot he is :(. We need to SAVE these companies so the Economy doesn't go down deeper into the hole it's already dug for itself. RIP to Chrysler! Long live the Hemi! We'll miss you!
