  • Does anyone know who sang this?

  • Does any one know the episode where Evie made a bunch of dogs march around the swimming pool while barking?

  • ah a young jason morgan

  • OMG This was one of my fav shows in the 90 I Totaly forgot that my fav soap star Steve buton AKA Jason Morgan on GH was on here Till i watched a extra interview here on youtube and it was menchen so I had to see for my self he looks good like he did back then

  • +memories of the 90s+

  • used to love watchin these my older brother used 2 record it 4 me whilwe i was at school x

  • this was one of my favorite shows as a kid... i had forgotten Jason Morgan aka Steve Burton was on this show til i saw the credits again.

  • I'm waiting for the E! True Hollywood story for this show to find out what happened to Troy, i hope he's okay..

  • ah a young Jason Morgan

  • Wow, what a steaming pile of hot garbage...

  • @tigahwood

    it beats Glee.

  • @indyfan22k true that

  • wwwwwwoooooooooowwwwwwwww!!!!! i TOTALLY forgot about this show!

  • It's getting released on DVD on 8th November (at least in Germany)

  • I stumbled upon this by accident, and the funny thing is that I subconsciously remembered this theme as I never thought of it after all these years. Never knew where it came from until now.

  • Wow, I had completely erased this bullshit from my memory. My only memory of Donna Pescow was from the show, "Angie." (I had no interest in Saturday Night Fever)

  • cloud has a molet XD (steve burton)

  • Troy McClure is a rip on Doug McClure and Troy Donahue, he acts like they did in all the cheesy B movies.

  • Wow...I had totally forgotten about this show...then I heard the theme song...damn talk about going back in time!

  • god evie was hot

  • what the HELL is this show??? And wasn't the front door they walk in the same one they had on Mr. Belvedere?

  • @wsmith4 The house looked like the same one from Golden Girls, but I looked at it a second time, I think it may have been different, but def. the same neighborhood.

  • Troy was Burt Reynolds. Look it up.

  • Steven Burton is on general Hospital and plays "Jason Morgan".

  • I was obsessed with this show. Now I remember why. I would totally love to see this show return...alas, I doubt that will ever happen. Is it on DVD?

  • was OBSESSED with this show as a kid.

  • @rockinthosesocks me too!

  • I hated this show with a passion as a kid .

  • i have aliens living with me. they're called landscapers.

  • Wow!! Totally forgot about this show! I loved it as a teenager, and had this biggest crush on "Evie", played by Maureen Flannigan. I thought she was HOT! Googled her and saw that til this day she REMAINS HOT!! :-)

  • the voice of troy burt reynolds

  • Woooooooooould youuuu like to swing on a star??!

  • Joe Alaskey has apparently become the present voice of many of the Looney Tunes characters!

  • This show started for me the recognition of certain common sitcom elements. As Mr Belvedere taught me that all sitcom help will be snarky, OOTW showed me that in some series, there will always be a character whose face you never see (Troy's, in this case). I refer you to Home Improvement's Wilson; Cheer's Vera; and MS-CL's Tino, among others.

And yes, Evie was hot. (wouldn't have minded Gleeping her...LOL)

    ~nTn~

  • I remember watching Doloris Claiborne thinking oh wow, Evie hit it big time, until I found out it wasn't her =\

  • I bet y'all have put your index fingers together at least once in your life, just to see if you actually could stop time by doing so.

  • i have this show on 9 dvds if anyone is interested. it's my own collection. not all the episodes but a good chuck of them from seasons 1-4.

  • @crono916 I'm interested.

  • her last name is nigra?

  • Is dit wat je bedoeld rick?????

  • Third Rock from the son bit off this opening; but this show stole the crystal thing from Mork and Mindy.

  • Does anyone else recognize the actor at :40? The actor who provides the voice for a certain Final Fantasy VII character? XD

  • @Remememea

That's "Jason Morgan" from General Hospital. Damn, dude was freakin hot.

  • Justice139: Thank-you so very much, that was the show I was after... can't believe I have found it after all these years of searching - ha,ha. A really big fervently thank-you for helping me.

    Phenom (TV series)

  • Could I ask a question please - pretty please.... does anyone know of an American TV show ( late 80's or maybe early 90's) in which the 'star' was a young amateur female tennis player???

  • @Jacob1988100 you're probably thinking of "phenom"

  • this girl was freaking hot!!

  • I was a big fan of this show. Evie and Chris made a cute couple. Thanks for putting it on utube. This show brings back memories of being a teen.

  • i forgot, why did they get rid of Uncle Beno in season 4?

  • @PsychicStoner Maybe Joe Alaskey left to persue voice acting

  • @PsychicStoner I thought it was because he and Buzz Belmondo didn't get along with each other...

  • This and Small Wonder were everything that was wrong with late 80's TV

  • @giantsean nah your just over-thinking it all.

  • i remember this show

  • i remember this used to come on sunday mornings on channel 9 after that piece of shit munsters remake

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW AS A KID

  • I've never heard of this show, I was watching the Blossom theme, and on the side where their was a bunch videos to watch. What in the world is this show?

  • @KamanForever It came on Saturdays around 4 o'clock, from about 1988 to 1991 I suppose. I used to watch it as a kid.

  • @KamanForever I agree. I never heard of this show before! And from seeing the intro of it, the reason why I probably never heard of this show before, probably because it was being aired in another universe.

  • god awful show. i see Donna Peskow followed up with another miserable show...

  • i thoughh she really spoke with her father icant believe it , anyway was nice show

  • Oh my gosh, I forgot about this one,

  • Can someone tell me what happened to television ? TV shows of the 80's and 90's were wonderful. And now TV sucks. There's nothing on TV. I'd rather watch all these shows all over again. I would never get tired of them. They're better than the garbage that's on today

  • @AmericanEvita Totally agree with you about TV today, I really miss all the old shows I used to watch. I loved this, can't find it on DVD anywhere. Recently bought boxsets of The Secret World of Alex Mack, My So-Called Life, and Are You Afraid of the Dark - the whole family loved watching them again! TV now is just pure and utter crap.

  • kinda remember this show...could have sworn it stared a very young Nicole Eggert

  • Don't remember this show either, but the music and that little crystal looks familiar. lolz I must have watched ALOT of tv as a kid. haha!

  • @asiancaramel. It's all about how old you are now and how old you were when these TV shows were on. I was already a bigger kid when this show was on and I remember watching it. It was a great show about an alien's daughter living on earth with her human mother. I miss TV when it was good

  • Who doesn't love Maureen Flannigan?

  • Steve Burton aka Cloud Strife

  • this was great

  • It's weird, I really don't remember this show, but watching this intro, I knew it. I guess I probably watched it a few times as a kid.

  • Joe Alaskey was also one of the voices in the cartoon series Tiny Toons (1990-1993)

  • The theme song was not original. It's a Bing Crosby song from the 1930's or 1940's. My elementary school teacher played the song in class one time. I used to watch this show in 1989 at age 9. Fond memories of better shows on TV.

  • for years i wondered what the name of this show was. just found it!

  • @xxRandomnameguyxx

how did u come upon the name

  • after talking to a friend about the show and us both wondering what the name was, I typed in "crystal pyramid, Dad, alien, sitcom" or something like that into a search engine, found the name then came here.

  • lol.. I remembered her name was Evie, but there was no show by that name, so I typed in Evie's world and this came up

  • @xxRandomnameguyxx Maybe you found it , cause the series is called:

"My dad is an alien in Germany"!

  • @xxRandomnameguyxx I only remembered the theme song and tried a search that way.

  • I remember REALLY liking Evie. She is quite a beautiful woman.

  • @underpathunderpath Me too!!

  • Awesome show, had major crushes on Evie and Lindsay when I was younger

  • I looooved this show and this is where I first fell in love with Steve Burton...he looks pretty much the same now.

  • i love this show!!!!! where can i watch it. do they have dvd's?

  • I used to love this show. Loved Evie.

  • This show jumped the shark when they started having all these unbelievable storylines. Like when the dad came back from that planet he was from, he wasn't acting how someone who hasn't seen their family for so long would be acting.

  • Brings me back memories! Nothing I MEAN NOTHING beats the classics!! 5/5

  • What little girl didn't love this show? I remember I always thought the song said "carry moon beans home in a jar". I always wondered what moon beans were like. I didn't realize it was beams 'til I was older.

  • Yeah and what little boy didn't want to ram maureen flannigan.

  • WOW!! Memories!!!

  • That just brought back a ton of memories of growing up in the 80's

  • I loved this show!

  • OMG!!! Do if anyone knows where to buy the DVD's I'd be forever gratfuL!

  • Maureen Flanagan grew into such a beautiful woman...

  • Do they sell the DVDs?

  • This song is so catchy this show has always stuck with me.

  • I absolutely loved this show growing up!

  • God I hated this show .

  • heh, Uncle Beano

  • I got chills. I love this show

  • loved i meant. :)

  • I remember watching this because Maureen was in it i also love the theme song to this show

  • i always had a crush on "evie" maureen flannigan, she get naked in the picture Teenage Bonnie and Klepto Clyde.

  • lol really?

  • wish they would bring this back, was a good show from childhood....

  • Steve Burton was in this? I forgot that.

  • is that the chick from Saturday Night Fever?

  • Wow last time I saw this was like 92 when I was 4

  • Man I loved this. Does anyone remember how it ended? I remember it getting close, but never saw the final episode. :/

  • Try pitching a show like this today at a TV exec and see how far you get! The '80s was a different era....

And where are they all now? I had high hopes for that sweet Maureen Flannigan!

  • OMG I cannot believed I thought this show was cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • Damn, I can't believe I loved this cheesy shit as a kid,and I still remember the theme song. Some memories just die hard.

  • I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS SHOW, I totally forgot the name, I just remember this wonderful show from my childhood about an alien, and then I watched Saturday Night Fever and saw the mom, so I saw it on IMDB, and then I found the show, I always remember that from my childhood when she put her two fingers together and freeze, that stuck with me and I'd do that for fun when i was a kid growing up when i was playing with my sister and we'd make pretend time froze. ahh to be young again.

  • I loved this show, I watched it every Saturday on TV after Saved by the Bell was done with my mom and sister.

  • Great Show!! Saludos desde MExico!

  • This show was a serious contender to "ALF" on TV in my country (Colombia) back in 1988. However, the fuzzy alien from Melmac is still widely remembered today while very few people (like me) treasure "Out of this World" in their hearts. "Evie" looked a lot like Debbie Gibson. Donna Pescow (the mom) appears on Saturday Night Fever as Travolta's girl, right?

  • HAHAHAAHAH... Recuerdo que los comerciales la anunciaban como la hermanita de Alf... Igual como anunciaban a MacGyver como el quinto de Los Magnificos...

  • lol I was a fan of this show when was a young, and the girl was very pretty, Evie forever

  • This was a good show...I remember watching it every afternoon in '88-'89...along with GI Joe, and for some reason always catching the intro to Jem (I swear, I didn't watch it, but the animation even impressed me as an 8-year-old)

  • I remember this serie,tanks tofans.

  • i loved this show as a kid :-)))

  • This one was my favorite. i would probably still watch it if i came on re-runs.

  • Did you know Burt Reynolds played the voice of Evies dad, Troy?

  • i miss this show, thanks for posting!

  • MY GOD ! HOLLYWOOD WRITERS CAN SELL ANY SHOW TO A PRODUCER BACK THEN. ....good show, though.

  • At the time Hollywood thought outside of the box now everything is so cookiecutter it makes me want to hurl!!

  • I'm truly embarrassed. I used to love this stupid show. And Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Us 80's babies had a pretty cool childhood.

  • Oh my god, I used to LOVE thios show when I was a kid but could never remember the name of it!! Yaaaaaaa!!

  • I love this show along with parker lewis and my secret identity... is this the same song on hudson hawk but with a diff lyrics?? just asking...

  • Yes.

  • whta´s the name of the song? or the group? anybody?

  • It's actually a modification of another song. The modification was made specifically for the show and I don't think you can buy or DL it anywhere. I forget the name of the original, but it's an old song. If you google the lyrics it'll pop up.

  • It's a cover of Swingin on a Star by Bing Crosby

  • I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! No one remembers this, so I thought I was goin crazy!!! I was on an 80s TV blog and there were a bunch of others who loved it too:) My favorite episode is when Evie's mom meets a prince that Evie's datin and says "Please to meet you your royal hineyness" LMAO!!! I was like 6 when this was out thank you for posting it:)

  • when i was 8 me and my mates used to play this song in our front room.. oh by the way theese friends of mine also had a band about a year later.... anyone heard of bros.

  • i was wrong it's been in my head for 3 damn days now someone shoot me

  • oh great i'm gonna have this theme in my head all day great show fond memories

  • i remember watching this show when I was like 5 years young OH MY GOD

  • Donna Pescow was a hot piece of ass

  • Oh how I used to wish I could freeze time (like the girl on this show) I would sleep in every day!

  • WGN America should add this to their line-up.

  • TROY as himself...lmao!

I only caught this show here and there as a kid, but loved it!

    Peace

  • OMG!!! i was looking for this theme song***

  • i miss these days, when all these cheesy shows that looks like they wrote and filmed in one day were on.

  • i think that maureen flanigan looks like Kristen Bell.

  • I thought the same thing! They're both smoking hot.

  • To me, Steve Burton will always be "that guy from Out Of This World". I know he's been on GH forever, but still... he'll always be "that guy".

  • OMG!!!

How could i forget this show. Bloody brilliant. Brings back childhood memories.

  • I haven't seen this show since 1989, I totally forgot about it until I found this link from another 80's intro.

When I seen it, Donna Pescow looked so familiar. I looked it up and I was right. She played the mom on Even Stevens. How about that?

  • somebody know who sing the song? please tell me

  • Interesting useless crap you should know about this show one doug mclure starred in a lot of 1950s teen movies and his last name inspired the character troy mcclure on the simpsons. Plus the man who did the voice of troy (this show not the simpsons) on the show was none other than burt reynolds listen carfully. i supect one of the simpons writers probale came up with troy mcclures name after watchin this show thats what i supect.

  • Mike Scully worked on both, OOTW and The Simpsons...

  • @KingDT2007 I have no doubt that Troy McClure was based on Doug's character Kyle X. Applegate, who in turn was based on Doug's friend Clint Eastwood, Mayor of Carmel at the the time. In different episodes, Kyle makes references to two TV shows he did, The Floridian and The West Virginian, in-jokes aimed at older viewers who would remember Doug's classic western series, The Virginian, in which he played his most famous role of Trampas.

  • Isn't that the mom on Even Stevens?

  • yeah it is. LOL

  • I so much miss watching this show.

  • christina nigra

  • Hot George Michael Poster LOL

  • Oh boy how much I loved this show when I was younger!

  • Never really watched the show itself, but God! Did i LOVE the opening song and sequence!

  • I love this song! *__*

But in Germany the titel was "Mein Vater ist ein Auserirdischer" - means "My father is an alien" X'D Kaaay X'D

  • Another song that will get stuck in your head!!

  • I miss watching this. Too bad it can't afford to be brought to DVD or syndication.

  • you can buy it on DVD- try DVD Donkey, they have the whole box set on DVD

  • Has anyone actually purchased anything from dvd-monkey? Because amazon doesn't have out of this world for sale?

  • I meant DVD-Donkey

  • dvd monkey sounded funnier lol

  • whatever happened to buzz. he was the equally irritating character in baywatch too

  • Buzz does standup comedy. He's actually a good friend of mine.

  • Retrocrap that brings good memories!

  • Christina Nigra Was The Hot One On That Show.

  • Maureen Flannigan was so hot back then. I wonder how she looks now. I think she is the same age as myself.

  • She was on 7th Heaven for a couple of seasons.

  • I also found her on Google. Seems like she went toppless in a movie a few years ago. Very nice "ta-tas".

  • That guys voice is sexy too.. However, I LOVED the show when I was a kid :o)

  • Thank you for just helping me win a monetary bet! I swore that Steve Burton currently playing Jason "Stone-Cold " Morgon once was on this show. My friend refused to believe it. She's off crying and broke somewhere...
