Something that sprays high pressure water from the top edge of the windshield, perhaps? That would allow gravity to work in your favor.

run a irrigation type bar across the of the windshield. with high power nozzels on it. spray high pressured water on to the screen. cut that mud right off. maybe even a solution of soap or something, to cut that mud right off.

Have you thought of using comprest air/nitrogen on a butterfly valve, to a manifold with air jets and just blow the mud/ water off?? i dont know if it would work but it might be worth a try

We put an old trolley boat motor on our race truck and rigged it to turn our wind shield wipers.

Lets see on bad ass boats the wiper blade goes in circles so you can see in the ocean where the hell your going but on freight trains like yours no telling
