  • I don't understand why us as the middle class don't just donate and help sponser these magnificence people. It will be well worth it in the future.

  • It is a Cessna with no wings.

  • POS

  • Thanks for nothing Progressive.

Aptera left the competition penniless after the rules were, erm, 'adapted' to ensure they couldn't win.

Funnily enough, they were the only team with a production ready car.

The winner, Edison, has no plans to produce their car, and (incidentally) it ran on a Yamaha ICE.

  • BANKRUPT!!!

  • its great but take it down to 15000 us

  • Seen the ads for this thing. Cut the cost. I can buy a sub compact for less and still pay for the gas to drive it for the next ten years for $25,000. CUT THE COST sell more and still make money while saving the world.

  • Make this car already. I've had my check written for years.

  • Aptera

  • I love is car aptrea

  • Hello! Have you thought about the intellitus cash system (google it)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy made a lot of money with it.

  • Does anyone know when they are going to start shipping?

  • in dont want one, I want five. : )

  • This will never happen... meaning that it's going to be way over priced. Middle class people will in no way be able to afford that vehicle. Basically, it's just another toy for the rich people and that's the whole problem.

  • Die Formel 1 müsste man steinigen; die Innovationen müssen in die Xprice Cars..

  • Aptera return money .... @ 01.00 : watch?v=20lCV83JrZ8

  • do you know whats pretty awesome...i live next to someone that worked with the car and is waiting for the government to give them the money to do it...and im waiting so i can get it~!

  • wheres the trunk? lol

  • ok where do you buy one! i want this

  • 40k for this, 49k for the Tesla S. 100 slow miles for this,300 fast for the Tesla S, and the G M Volt looks bad now.

  • This is Public Relations bullshit. The big oil company's and automotive company's do not want to produce a vehicle that reduces profit.

  • @JasonTyberiusKirk you're right, I think this new vehicle hasn't launched yet because oil company want to continue to get profit.

  • @JasonTyberiusKirk ya know what? whether or not you thought about other companies as a counterbalance to the oil companies. Do you know which? Electric companies! They are stronger than the oil comapnies! Don't you think! And where U will be charging the batteries? At the rechargable special stations providing by the electric comanies like General Electric and others...its a huge piece of cake to eat! Oil is dead! Hitler is dead too!

  • @ProjectionLabel You sir are misinformed. Most electric companies get electrical power from fossil fuel. Nuclear power is dangerous and hydro-electric power is in the minority. So big oil companies are more powerful economically. I would love to see all vehicles become electric powered but the reality is that the powers that be do not want to lose profits and therefore their ability to control the government for the greater good of humankind.

  • @JasonTyberiusKirk The oil companies are not only more powerful financially, it is unreal the power they have over politicians. If it weren't for the oil company PAC's, this car would be on the road. They are buying politicians to secure their paychecks by keeping us dependent on oil. for example- the money sank into that 'bridge to nowhere' abominable waste of money could've funded 50 companies like Aptera @ 100% to bring cars like this to market.

  • Comment removed

  • @thecrashpit You are not being clear.

  • @JasonTyberiusKirk 30-year-old nuclear plants are dangerous; modern ones are safe. Problem is that nobody (not even Japan, to their sorrow!) has the political will to modernize and replace instead of just keeping the old plants running... which is eventually going to mean more disasters down the line. In any event -- electric vehicles mean that you don't need to improve or replace every car on the road to improve efficiency or cut pollution, as you can improve just the centralized power plants.

  • Hmm. Aptera - the team with the best chance of actually bringing a car to market - were sent home without a penny.

    I smell a rat.

  • @AshtonPhoto I reckon that they were paid off!

  • fuck you progressive motherfuckers..fucking crooks

  • make a 4 wheel performance apteraaaa!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this car, but dont understand why it still has not launched yet. Too much talk, lets get going and sell this great car already!

  • @soucorp @ a reasonable price as well

  • @soucorp Thats exactly what a lot of people feel. Finally they will loose patience, because who wants to live on promises :-((

  • @soucorp it has. talk is also necessary to get the money going.

  • Respond to this video... we could achieve independance from foreign energy if we were allowed to axcess our own internal reserves of energy, coal, nat gas, tar oil, and others. there is no shortage of energy anywhere.

  • @soucorp The oil company is trying to buy them out.

  • @Blackwater200 I didn't know that. Really? It makes sense. Buy them out and scrap the whole thing so we are kept dependent on oil. That really stinks.

  • Cool. I hope it goes into production soon.

  • i love the car.

i hate the fake phony corporate money driven bs talk.

the car deserves better people. we all want better than american crap.

  • I swear no lie every time I see Paul Wilbur in a video he look old than youn than fat and skinny

  • @randomdude10010 If I were to hire you to be my financial advisor and you came driving up in a Corolla, paid for..I'd say, "That guy knows how to save money". If you drove up in an Escalade, I'd say, "That guy knows how to get money out of his clients". I drive a Honda Hybrid, or one of two old inherited Camry's. I could afford a "better" new car, but instead, like my money going to my savings, kids, education, travel, etc etc. Keep your Corolla. Really.

  • This car isn't handling turns well on the video. If the cabin pitched with the turn in the opposite direction it would help tremendously with the center of gravity. This can be accomplished mechanically off the steering linkage. I can't believe they don't see this. It's the same driving a motorcycle. If you lean the wrong direction in a slow turn you'll go off balance. You can see the car is off balance increasing the skid in the turns.

  • I don't want one, I want 3 :)

  • been following Aptera for 2 years and they're the safest, most efficient, beautiful, convenient, don't know about comfort, car in the world. APTERA good luck on the X Prize I hope you guys win!!!

  • I don't care about "Miles per Gallon"...I care about "Miles per dollar" Create a car that costs me as little as possible to get from home to work, grocery store or to a different state without giving up safety, comfort, convenience or overall practicality...build that, then I'll buy it

  • @randomdude10010

What are you talking about? You will essentially save money on a car for gas that say gets 50-60 mpg compared to one that gets 20mpg, so you should care about "miles per gallon".

  • @redzero27 I'm talking about how I'd have to sell my car (which is paid off) and take out a loan for a new car and the bank will require I get more insurance on it than I have right now. Also, MPG doesn't take into account the cost for the fuel, if it's 83 octane gas that's one thing, but if we're talkin about a fuel that's twice the price of petrol, then I'd much rather have a car that gets 20mpg and pay $2.50 a gallon then a car that gets 30mpg but have to pay $5.00 a gallon

  • @randomdude10010 Then do what I do: use an electric scooter around town )when weather and circumstance permits), and use a beater that you hyper-mile on the freeway. People get rid of perfectly usable cars because they want something newer with more bells and whistles, or because a cheap part costs too much in man-hours to replace.

  • @hempev I'm more or less with you. Right now I have a Corolla I paid cash for, and that's great for a college student like me, but I'm studying to be a financial advisor for people with a lot of money, and I'd like to have a car that will leave a good impression, plus I'll want something bigger for if I start a family, and I've just always wanted a sportier sedan that still has practicality. So I'm hoping the tech these guys are working on makes its way into the car I want to get later on

  • @randomdude10010 Ah, I see, you want a car that impresses? Get a 20 year old Bentley converted to run on NG and it will make both an impression and a statement...

  • @hempev I'm hoping someone (like Audi or BMW or Lexus) will make a luxury sports sedan that's a turbo diesel hybrid. That way I won't completely suffer in the city, but will still be able to go go distances without refueling, and when I do refuel I'll have no problem finding my diesel (plus I could make my own when I'm bored!) Would love to have ab old Bentley, but I won't have that kind of time once my career takes off (not a complaint, an expectation)

  • "Without compromise to safety, security, comfort, or convenience." I sure hope that isn't what he meant. That is probably the exact opposite of what he meant...or else the Aptera sucks.

  • @oisiaa duh are you deaf he said without compromising all those stuff

  • regardless if you win x prize or not, this is the cooles car in the world. Just buid'em and they (the buyers) will come.
