When he says " He's somebody's son , in a hole with a gun in a foreign land. Tryin' hold on to his american dream" i get chills thinking about how brave the men and women overseas are <3 I cannot thank you enough
I grew up in Waycross, Ga. now serving in the military as a Warrant Officer and bout to make my 5th deployment. This song truelly touched home, even though I'm not a country listener, I am a fan of this one.....
I served at Brooke Army Medical Center where many of the most severely injured were sent , and will always remember Jonathan Benson, a young Marine who lost a valiant fight for his life. His courage, strength, dignity affected everyone who knew, worked and served to save him. This song could have been written for him.
I cry every time I hear this song. My cousin LCPL Kristopher Cody Warren was shot and killed over there 2 years ago this past November. Just a week before Thanksgiving. He was 19.
I am one of those boys and I was overthere and 4 of my brothers paid my way back home Spc Guerro 1-18 In, Pfc. Lekel Cco 1-28In, Spc. Obrien Cco 1-28In, Spc Wilkey 1-28 In 1st Infantry Division!
God made the better ones to play football and serve his country. This song reminds me of a man that went to school with me. He is a 19 year old kid that played semi-pro football and went to war in Iraq right in the middle of his season...God grant that there will always be men like that.
This is an amazing song. I cry everytime I hear it. My brother played football in high school and is currently staioned in Iraq as a Marine. The song makes me think of him.
As the grandson of a USArmy WWI infantry officer, the son of a USNavy WWII vet, a Viet Nam era USAF Vet myself, the father of a USArmy soldier currently serving in Iraq, and a Ride Captain for the Patriot Guard Riders, this video means a lot to me. Thanks for posting it.
Great song! Thanks for thinking of those whom serve. God bless our heroes, as he has us with their service. To those who have suffered loss or the strain of deployment, you are in my prayers.
One buddy back from A-stan, one from Iraq and a cousin who is on his second tour.
Being a Retired Marine that served in Desert Sheild/Desert Storm, this song brings back memories, good and bad. I am also thankful that my Grand son, US Army came back last month in one peice. Semper FI!!!
Yall have no idea how much a song like this means to us over here in Iraq. More so for myself. My girlfriend sent me this video... High school football jeresy #19 went to state my senoir year, had the offer of a full scholarship at University of Tennessee joined the Marines day after I graduated.. Thank you all for your prayers
It's as if you knew my son Cpl Marc T. Ryan wore #19, for GHS Cpt of team, went to state, scholarship to college, joined Marine Corp, KIA: 11/15/04, Ramadi, Iraq
I can not put into words what this song means to me. Thank You!
