I hated this guy so much used Slash and Trident to beat him. When I finally did beat him (with slash) years later I said finally and stop playing.

The Eternal Champion WAS in deed one of the hardest bosses to beat ever and the people on here saying that are not lying! I thought M.Bison on Streetfighter 2 was the toughest when it first came out but this guy on this game is crazy good no lie! It took me years to beat him! 1 time i got soooo pissed because i almost had him and then he put that damn invincibility on him and destroyed me quick. I ALMOST PUNCHED A HOLE IN THE DAMN T.V.!

ETERNAL and dark Eternal would MURDER SHAO KHAN and any other boss from MK i mean this game was made to be the mortal kombat killer. I cant beat the game with but two characters well three..... Larcen, Xavier, and sometimes jetta. eternal is a brutal sob

One of the hardest and impossible final bosses ever. You have to know what you're doing in order to defeat all 5 of his forms. It's based on elements? I cannot remember the pattern of the formations. o.o

It always amazes me how much effort these guys put into this music with such limited technology and did such an awesome job. It always strikes me as a big shame nobody ever really knew about them either.

The Eternal Champion, starts a tournament full of dead warriors to see which one was worthy enough and powerful enough to balance the scales of good and evil, just one question WHY'S HE SO FUCKING CHEAP

each form was a real pain to defeat...

The normal form was the easiest, but it would pick at you with weak moves to interrupt your strong ones. The hawk form, was all about sweeping attacks, and moving across screen. It would blow you back just so it could rush you. The shark style was about superior power and inner strength. Flowing like a blade form the floor was a cheap attack, but easy to dodge. The tiger would hit you with strong up close attacks, as well as drain your physical power.

And the dragon, relied on projectiles and aerial attacks mostly, but did it in a way that's hard to fight.

This boss is that hard, but it's that satisfying when you actually beat him.

The first time you beat you, he'd raise a fist up screaming, "YESSSS!!!!!" Didn't you?

Eternal Champion, followed by his Hawk style,then Shark, Tiger and finally Dragon.

As much as I used to agree with you guys, the Eternal Champion from EC1 is not the hardest boss ever. He can be exploited, but he does put up a helluva fight. The Owl form can decimate you pretty quick.

But in EC 2: Challenge from the Dark Side, he has twice as many forms. Yes, TWICE as many. On the hardest difficulty level, it's insane. He's harder on the Sega CD.

Also, the Dark Champion after him has 9 fucking forms. And none of them are familiar to you when you first play the game.

The Eternal Champion is by far the hardest video game boss in history, no questions asked. It's hard enough getting to him and getting good enough to call yourself rank 8. Fighting the Eternal Champion himself is much more difficult.
