Guys, its a "safety stunt" done by one of the big mining companies in Australia. Basically every couple of months they strip a (retired) 4wd down and run over it so people know what the end result will be.

PS: some said why do they take parts out. basically, the trucks have a life span based on "hours run" not kilometers, and they replace the parts continually until they reach the end of their lifetime. Hypothetically the engine might be young.

I used to drive deliveries out at a mine. Before they let me on the premise without an escort, I had to go to MSHA training where they showed us a video of a haul truck running over a pickup. I'm betting that this was done for a training video, but this sort of thing does happen in real life. My dad worked with a man who was killed when his pickup was run over. The driver of the haul truck only stopped because his steering lines where severed, otherwise he wouldn't have known.
