Nexus opponents testify before Onamia Planning Commission

The Onamia City Council, acting as an agent for Nexus, a private corporation, is forcing 100 Mille Lacs Academy sex offenders into a residential neighborhood - next to 3 day cares, elderly widows, and a disabled woman. This is just WRONG!

Nexus is currently housed in the old Crosier seminary, but the plan is to build a new campus on a 38-acre parcel the city annexed from Bradbury Township.

I have to say I wouldn't want a sex offender "treatment" center in my town or my county.

Is the Nexus Center housed on the Crosier property - adjacent to the hospital, the nursing home, apartments - I don't think this type of facility should be anywhere near any of these. In fact - I think Nexus should add on to the great county jail and keep these people where they should be!

you are a closed minded jerk to say they need to be in jail. these are messed up kids who deserve a chance. if ted bundy would have been given a rehab do you think he woulda killed more? maybe we should put a jail in onamia so you can cry more, but we could put murders and gang bangers there they will be safer then kids!!! ha ha you really should put yourself into these kids therapist shoes. to change you must want it, they seem to want it
