Very hard to say what one should do in a situation like this.
There is no way of knowing whether the guard actually saw the knife, and I have heard that certain pierce wounds can be hard to feel immediately due to nerve damage. He seemed to try to grab for it, but he missed getting a solid grip on the wrist at all, and didn't seem to know how to use his body to incapacitate the stab's of the attacker.
Very scary situation for the guard, and no doubt the attacker was on drugs.
@NeutralExistence ,yeah that attacker was clearly not sober in his mind.Thy should have knocked him with a hammer. It would have ended the fight immediatly
Yeah, but they probably didn't have a hammer on hand.
So they should start teaching their employee's knife defense, with the mistakes the robber was making some one with knife training should have been able to disarm him several times. However the security guard panicked, and relied on muscle memory that unfortunately wasn't trained in knife fighting.
So he just randomly grabbed at it trying to save his ass as 90% people without training will likely do, instead of using Judo.
@NeutralExistence ,teaching everyone knife defense. Then someone comes with a gun? Then what?Gun defense. You're not safe with a course of knife defense.
The knife goes in before you can block the guy.And this stabbing guy was a pretty slow one in my opinion.
The hammer is a better option.Or stabbing motiond with broomsticks.A bit harder slamming with the chair.I wouldnt rely on bare hands against the knife. But the guard was surprised..
You got some extreme dudes on your channel by the way
So is the hammer going to help you against the guy with a gun either?
No, but the training course on knife defense will train you how to use your opponents weight against him. Which is vital for disarming armed combatants, especially one's that are much bigger then you. You develop muscle memory, as you will notice with boxers who have immediate block responses from their constant tuning of this muscle memory. Knife come's instincts act faster then conscious actions.
@NeutralExistence ,you really think people start to put many hours a week into that?Muscle memory takes lots of practice. And still you will get fucked in most cases when confronted with a knife.Make no illusions about that.Better keep distance and use chairs or othe stuff to keep distance.Much better choices .The hammer is at least WAY more effective than your ninja practice
So you think it would be better just to leave him to try to learn for himself instead of spending the time to give him simple knife lessons? Really I don't understand your logic, or lack thereof in the least. You can still use the fucking hammer.... but having knife training will help you know how to keep your distances.
I really don't see what fucked up mentality would make you think training would negatively effect the guard.
@NeutralExistence ,He could do it.Some self defense doesnt hurt .But i doubt it has effect against a knife. You are more convinced than me.This crazy madman was even pretty lousy in his stabbing act.
I read a book ..maybe you know it.'How to become a mercenary written by "Paul Balor".He found it pretty suicidal to try fight someone who has a knife.I agree.Totally.
Sticks ,chairs throwing stuff yes.Not bare hands
One stab with a 8 inch blade knife in the chest and it's game over.
I am sure that if he would have had training he would have fared a-lot better.
No, knife defense teaches you to keep your distance, and by all means using objects in the room is part of knife defense. Its not like just because you know knife defense you aren't going to use objects in the room to save you, but it could be the deciding factor between you getting stabbed, and him being disarmed.
