That woman is a retard anyway, she should have 1. done some research before paying ransom for her computer 2. take backups. what a retard, she deserves this
it's amazing what kind of money these people make when they distribute rogue spyware programs all you need is a server that constantly pumps them out and you make a lot in commissions
Don't ever buy rogue software! This is dangerous. Once the rogue software is installed, it will be very hard to remove it. Purchase a security software from popular security software companies such as Norton (Symantec) , Mcafee, Trend Micro, and etc.
@ilikepie890123 , I know that. However, Norton 2011 will have new security tools to protect you from rogue software. But, I enjoyed my Malwarebytes. I already seen that Malwarebytes founded more threats then Norton. I will never will use Mcafee because it crash my Windows XP computer.
The ftc has settled with one of the slimeballs involved in this scam. James Reno was fined somewhere around $145-160 thousand dollars. Pretty lenient punishment for a scam that netted millions! They should have confiscated all his property and put him in prison for decades. And they say crime doesn't pay!
lol at 1:13 ! it should read "your current Antivirus protection is not effective! so we'll make even more not effective"
and lol, on other videos about winfixer, when they show the virus scanner scanning for viruses, 355 viruses is always the amount that it says. also, isn't symantec and norton the same thing?
Those Winfixer bastards are getting their up and comings. The FTC has started a federal lawsuit against them, and Sam Jain is listed on Wikipedia as a fugitive on the run!
Supposedly, the US Supreme court is fining the makers of Winfixer and other malware $8,000 per day for every day their fake virus removal sites remain active.
Actually, according to Wikipedia, WinPC Defender is a from the MS Antivirus family, a different type of rogue applications such as XP Antivirus, and is completely unrelated to the WinFixer family, which includes ErrorSafe, WinAntiVirus Pro, and SystemDoctor, just to name a few. But you are right about one thing: WinPC Defender is a real virus and not a legit antivirus program like Norton.
"WinFixer was a virus..." EXACTLY!! The main cause of those popups are the Vundo, And Ad.Doubleclick, and Zlob Trojans, They can be removed by simply performing a system restore (If your computer's Internet connection is disabled).
Yeah, but now some of these scumwad fake antivirus removal programs install themselves onto your computer as a new user with admin privileges.
Then, it disables your ability to run a system restore through normal means! It will even disable programs like Spybot S&D so that you can't run them anymore.
They keep updating their malware.

Goggle Vundofix, they provide a FREE fix to remove the Vundo virus. That is what causes the popups. I have used it and it was safe, I trust them. I am not with Vundofix, but it worked for me.
You can't stop them all, that's just how life works. anything that can be exploited will be exploited, pretty much how it works in real life too. <- Neutral intentions
Maybe you can't stop it, but you sure as hell can deter it by putting the fraudsters in jail for a long time. That will make the next moron think before creating a nightmare like Vundo.
I had just recently and I mean today had gotten winfixer and had to get it off my computer so the I used up most of my day trying to get it off. Which I eventually did, with the team effort of McAfee, Norton and SpyBot Search&Destroy. They are all trustworthy, for I have not had any problems since I downloaded them. I ahve checked and nothing is wrong so download them if you need too.
How did you do it? I tried the three-finger salute (Ctrl + Alt + Del) method when the dailog box appeard but I think I read that doesn't work. I now fear it's on my computer and I have run my anti-virus programs a million times.
If you live in the New York City area I can fix your problem as I have fixed 100's of problems involving these types of malware commonly known as the "Smit Fraud" from my previous customers. Or if you want I can offer you the online assistance in removing this "Smit Fraud" variant.
These are becoming more notorious by the day. That is why you should put all your stuff on a separate USB hard drive and unplug from the net when exploring. Be ready to reformat on a dime without worry—BACK UP YOUR DATA!
lol wouldn't it be so funny if you JUST bought a new computer and the piece of **** says you got like 1000+ infections :/ nobody will fall for that unless extreme idiocy is present. Then they deserve it >_>
Yeah, Oh help me!!! help Me!!!, This happens always and it'll ahppen 2 u or me, Cuz we're obligated to use a piece of shit, it's called Windows XP/Vista, Get a Linux Live CD or make a dualboot
i looked up "zlob" on wikipedia and the only way those fake antivirus programs can pop up on your comp is if you go to unsafe sites.and there mostly porno sites lol.
a friend of mine recently got that winfixer prompt, but instead of saying that your comp has 350 threats, it said, "your computer is infected and has a track of every place u visit and this could end your marriage!!" i was cracking up, lol
but anyway, hes completely technologically illiterate and he new not to click ok... called me instead
i almost got infected by this trash!! only it was sysprotect. I clicked on cancel but forgot to disconnect from the internet. but nothing happeed so i got lucky...i guess. =)
my mom almost downloaded this but i stopped it middownload turned off the computer (jus pressed the button on the thing u put the cds in it 2 turn it off) then turned it back on did a virusscan (using mcafee) it found the program then i simply w8ed 4 the scan 2 finish then used mcafee 2 destroy it, im 1 of the lucky 1s =D
Actually, your mum (or mom, however you want it spelt; I'm English) is one of the lucky ones; you saved her from a fake antispyware program infection.
I saved my mom as well a few years ago. Luckily, with Vista and the updates being available (and the list of sites in our browser's Restricted zone) and CyberDefender 2.0, no malicious software should be able to attack us.
About the lady in the video though, she could easily get her important files back by booting from a Linux live CD and moving her files onto removable storage.
Wow, I can't believe that many people actually buy fraudware, shows how many people are computer illiterate. I find it funny that when they talk about reputable anti-virus companies they list Norton and MacAfee as the big ones. I've found more things on my parents computer with free software than those programs have. Ad-Aware, AVG, Avast!, and Spybot are all free... and Kaspersky Internet Security is great if you are willing to pay.
Winfixer, SystemDoctor, ErrorSafe, WinAntiVirus, WinAntiSpyware, AVsystemcare and WinAntiSpy are identical malware programs. All part of the SmitFraud family.
You can remove it manually but it takes a LONG and ARDOROUS time. I destroyed it permenantly by start>search>all files and folders>ErrorSafe, Winantivirus etc. etc.> All the the files are notepad> opened them and deleted EVERY SINGLE WORD AND NUMBER OF THE CODES> press 'x' and yes when asked to save.
As this is a "Virtual" warfare zone, these trojans self load, the best policy is to contact your ISP. If a Water Utility were to allow smelly turds into the water supply, and yucky brown muck oozed out of your faucet! Who would you blame?
I got that thing, but I easily removed that and recovered my files by reading an article from " w w w . w i k i p e d i a . o r g ".. just type the keyword WinFixer and you'll get the instructions on how to remove that sh*t out of my butt.
I wish they given info to get in on that Lawsuit. WinAntoVirus Pro just installed itself while a friend who didn't know how to stop the process used my computer while I was away on Mother's day. I WANT IN! My computer a mess and I have game creation work on it that over 10 years old: irreplacable! Just so they could hock their cheesy wares. They're exploiting people without care if it ruins invalueable/unrecoverable data of their victims, and for that they should pay.
I have it now, PRO 2007 is virually impossible to get off without system restore, and its a lot easier to restore. I just backuped files and etc. And you can easily track it back to them. Packet edit from the process. o0o 0 o o ..
Dude, it took me like 7 days to get winfixer/Vundo off my computer! And NO I never downloaded the shit or purchased it. I don't want those guys to die.... but, I hope they get an incurable STD that makes flames shoot out their penises every time they take a piss!
This is funny all you are dumb WinFixer isn't even avil anymore..and who ever is stupid enough to buy things from a pop up is flat out retarted..and who ever did buy WinFixer should have called there cust support instead of going on youtube and bitching about it lol..you are so dumb..
My way of deleting pop-ups (idea from VERY recently) is to start > search > all files and folders > the pop-ups name > Open the notepad file > DELETE every single number and word of the code > press 'x' > and click yes if asked to save the changes. I had a StUPID smileycentral pop-up and I deleted it.
If you go on a site and a popup comes up saying something like your computer is affected with mallicious software, etc... and it asks you to perform a free scan or something, then dont close the window and dont press ok because it will install either way, but if you first disconnect from the internet and then close the window, 3 pop ups will come up but they will be blank and the programme will not be able to install.
first, they pop up in your computer, then they secretly install themselves, the "other" way is to pres CTRL+ALT+DELETE then close either iexplore.exe or mozilla.exe your safe
easy for u to say i get those popups they come up by themselfs and my symantec antivirus automatically comes up saying that winfixer and drivecleaner is a virus which it is and i have to do this at least 3 times a ay it sucks
I hope the lady won on the court and the creators of those catastrophic software stay the rest of their lifes in jail. First they destroy your os and files and second they propose you to use their shitty products to restore your system back, thats a blackmail. I have a huge hate about people creating those things cuz in the past i had lost many files and i needed several times to reinstall windows which is very tiring procedure.
Ahahah, TAKE THAT. I had WinAntiVirus after an unfortunate incident last September. I got rid of it after a month with some crafty work, but that month was very miserable; I spent all day from as soon as I got home from school to 2am working the crap out of Spybot and AVG again and again in hopes it'd go, which it didn't. Eventually I found it was attached to explorer.exe which made the job harder...but it got done in the end.
BUt still, winfixerfixer - im thankful for ur response, as it was one of the meaningful ones. on the other hand, for those individuals who just wish for peoplpe to die and tell them things they havent deserved - if u cant hold a normal arguement, dont argue at all. ull just make a ful of urself.
shut da hell up, damn i hope u get caught and killed and stomped on and kicked in the face, and ur tooth pulled out, stab u slowly in the stomache and kill u for creating dat stupid fuck program bitch
intention of my post was not to prove that WINFIXER rocks and we should all go get it. in fact, im not sure if it works or not , and there was nothing about it in the message. All i wanted to say is that i proved for myself that that stuff doesnt do the things this video describes. thats the end of it
i guess that report didn't get through your thick skull.
if a pop-up saying that "Your Computer is infected with a whol shit load of Viruses! Buy our software before it dies!" there has to be something wrong with that ad. Why would a good and legit anti-virus program need to use pop-ups to get a reputation? sounds fishy huh?
Also, if you scan your computer and it says "500 threats detected" on each scan, your computer would practically be dead or close to it. There can be no way that a computer can have that many viruses and still be alive. Seriously, if there was over 100 threats detected in one scan, wouldn't the anti-virus suck? (unless you didn't have one before.)
shut da hell up, damn i hope u get caught and killed and stomped on and kicked in the face, and ur tooth pulled out, stab u slowly in the stomache and kill u for creating dat stupid fuck program bitch
One thing I noticed about winfixer is that it didn't show how many programs it scanned at the end or the progress. That should also tell you something.
Not to be an asshat and tell you to die in a fire, I suggest you get a better anti-virus program such as AVG(free or pay), McAfee (this has a free trial and buy thing, but I'm not 100% sure), or Norton (same thing, except im sure that there's a free trial and buy thing). Also get anti-spware such as spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and ZoneAlarm (they all have a free service)
You're lucky I'm in a nice mood right now, or else I would be like the other douches and say "U SUK LOLOLOLOL"
shut da hell up, damn i hope u get caught and killed and stomped on and kicked in the face, and ur tooth pulled out, stab u slowly in the stomache and kill u for creating dat stupid fuck program bitch
shut da hell up, damn i hope u get caught and killed and stomped on and kicked in the face, and ur tooth pulled out, stab u slowly in the stomache and kill u for creating dat stupid fuck program bitch
Fraud is the common law name for lying. WinFixer lies: it consistently reports infections on demonstrably clean machines, a fact documented by dozens of objective sources.
FYI, fraud is still fraud, even if you offer to make amends after being caught.
I have been using winantivirus for almost 3 years now,and all is workink perfectly on my computer. I have called their tech support a couple of times, and got a great service. So i do not think this is a bad program, my PC is free of all virus!! give them a chance!
so anyways, my point is - people who dont know ANYTHING about working with a pc shouldnt do that in the first place, hell id prohibit selling hardware to them. And they definetely shouldnt blame others for their own incompetence.
then i called their tech support( YES! they have a number u can call). after being on hold for 4-6 minutes a nice lady picked up, whom i told that i was trying it out and want to use my 30day miney back thing - money was credited back in 4 days.
this is totall wack. i have been working with pc's since i was a child. after watching this i purposely went and dled all kinds of trial offers from those programs. then i even ordered one to test drive it. i ve not had a single popup or "freezing up issue".
Whoa Mr Cohen, Stop playing on youtube! Dude you are goin' down! If you're not Marc Cohen, then you're one of his relatives, because everyone knows that winfixer is a piece of crap spyware/virus!
I turn on my internet and open Firefox... browse some forums then all of a sudden. ERRORSAFE, Winantivirus... all these things popup and won't go away. they interfere with my routine and slow everything down. and u call it propaganda?
These guys are geniuses!

Hi.

Sekinto 4 years ago
Winfixer, SystemDoctor, ErrorSafe, WinAntiVirus, WinAntiSpyware, AVsystemcare and WinAntiSpy are identical malware programs. All part of the SmitFraud family.

Does Spybot or adaware help remove this spyware?
Nicholai420 4 years ago
Its pretty hard to do so
ComradeLynx 4 years ago
I think Superantispyware does the trick better although adaware & Spybot are good
aura12 4 years ago

I wish they given info to get in on that Lawsuit. WinAntoVirus Pro just installed itself while a friend who didn't know how to stop the process used my computer while I was away on Mother's day. I WANT IN! My computer a mess and I have game creation work on it that over 10 years old: irreplacable! Just so they could hock their cheesy wares. They're exploiting people without care if it ruins invalueable/unrecoverable data of their victims, and for that they should pay.

My way of deleting pop-ups (idea from VERY recently) is to start > search > all files and folders > the pop-ups name > Open the notepad file > DELETE every single number and word of the code > press 'x' > and click yes if asked to save the changes. I had a StUPID smileycentral pop-up and I deleted it.

when you scan the computer with winfixer,THE REAL ANTI-VIRUS is targeted as THE VIRUS!
the truth is WINFIXER IS THE VIRUS!
buffer545 4 years ago
If you go on a site and a popup comes up saying something like your computer is affected with mallicious software, etc... and it asks you to perform a free scan or something, then dont close the window and dont press ok because it will install either way, but if you first disconnect from the internet and then close the window, 3 pop ups will come up but they will be blank and the programme will not be able to install.
Crazytboi 4 years ago
first, they pop up in your computer, then they secretly install themselves, the "other" way is to pres CTRL+ALT+DELETE then close either iexplore.exe or mozilla.exe your safe

Eventually I found it was attached to explorer.exe which made the job harder...but it got done in the end.

intention of my post was not to prove that WINFIXER rocks and we should all go get it. in fact, im not sure if it works or not , and there was nothing about it in the message. All i wanted to say is that i proved for myself that that stuff doesnt do the things this video describes. thats the end of it
n0point 4 years ago
i guess that report didn't get through your thick skull.
if a pop-up saying that "Your Computer is infected with a whol shit load of Viruses! Buy our software before it dies!" there has to be something wrong with that ad. Why would a good and legit anti-virus program need to use pop-ups to get a reputation? sounds fishy huh?

It is directed to "not smart" people, so if u have no idea about computers, please dont use it! just play solitaire and tetris on it )))
SoFiUXD 4 years ago
Also, if you scan your computer and it says "500 threats detected" on each scan, your computer would practically be dead or close to it. There can be no way that a computer can have that many viruses and still be alive. Seriously, if there was over 100 threats detected in one scan, wouldn't the anti-virus suck? (unless you didn't have one before.)

One thing I noticed about winfixer is that it didn't show how many programs it scanned at the end or the progress. That should also tell you something.
longhairedjuice 4 years ago
Not to be an asshat and tell you to die in a fire, I suggest you get a better anti-virus program such as AVG(free or pay), McAfee (this has a free trial and buy thing, but I'm not 100% sure), or Norton (same thing, except im sure that there's a free trial and buy thing). Also get anti-spware such as spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and ZoneAlarm (they all have a free service)
You're lucky I'm in a nice mood right now, or else I would be like the other douches and say "U SUK LOLOLOLOL"

n0point and SoFiUXD,
Fraud is the common law name for lying. WinFixer lies: it consistently reports infections on demonstrably clean machines, a fact documented by dozens of objective sources.
FYI, fraud is still fraud, even if you offer to make amends after being caught.
But you already knew all this, didn't you?
