If you look in the description you can see the actual size of the image. It's tiny that's why you can see the pixels.

You can try Gimp, or you could work in oekaki. I remember seeing a list of free software on the FA forums. I could PM the link to you if you like?

wonderful, you make coloring look like an easy task.

I am not an artist or anything, but I just wonder how dose the software know when you try to color edge not to color the other side of it too?

I was showing what overlay does. It colors over everything but black and white. So if you want to color an image that was black white and grey it would color over only the grey.

Okay. Now how do you make the overlay layer stay? because when I merge my layers together, the overlay layer goes to normal. How do I get it to stay?

Save as any regular file type (like PNG) and your image layers will be all merged. That is the only way around this.

Well I just found out that you can press the Layer clip option for the overlayed layer. the layers after the layer you overlayed will show in normal colouring.

I put overlay, ad I cant see the colors :( I can see in that little layer box...

Overlay won't color over black or white. So try to make sure you have another color to use it on like gray or anything else.

@NerdyAnimeLover be sure that the layer your using is above the layer your coloring over, because it's a picture it wont color behind it either, which is why you wouldn't be able to see it =D I make that mistake all the time

:( My overlay tool doesn't do that. I have the brush set to "normal" and the layer set to overlay, but it just colors like normal... Boohoo. I need to see what I'm doing wrong. I didn't know there wasn't an overlay filter like there is in Photoshop, I was so seriously relying on that. Haha.

Are you using the blending options on a layer above the one that your drawing is on?

@Nicole1725 xD I think I figured it out. Overlay doesn't work on black. I had to make it gray. I wish there was a filter like the one in photoshop where it just makes your whole layer one solid color. :(

I believe a lot of artists do their lineart in black and then shade in gray. overlay does not effect black or white. That's why you could not see me going out of the lines in this video.

I actually knew more about using multiply than overlay. This was actually my first time messing with it. lol Probably isn't a good idea to do a video like this without experience.

I never thought of using it to color manga. Sounds like it would be fun.

I'm actually going out of the lines but you cant see it because overlay only colors over colors. White is the absence of all color so it doesn't get effected.
