@GrimmGreen The commutator post inside the adapter housing becomes loose, and then fails. This (I suspect) is designed to be the part that fails. Mine just failed quicker than it was suppose to...
The Super -T "Precise" / "Super Six", and AtmosUSA "Copper" are without a doubt the best of the mod e-cigs.
@GrimmGreen I ordered mine last week! I have a spare set of 18650 protected batteries ready for heavy usage. I'd like to see a pic of the "Precise" 18650 model. I assume it will look like the smaller model? I wish Super-T would put more info into their website... Will it have a locking button? Will it accept protected batteries?
So far, the AtmosUSA is IMO the best (though not the best looking) mod available. It looks really cool if you powder-coat it black!
@GrimmGreen The only downside to the AtmosUSA "Copper" is the nasty smell of brass! I would make them out of aluminum... You can disassemble the "Copper", and powder-coat it black. This is what i refer to as my "Urban Assault PV"!
@rblira2 so i have not done a review on the "ace" ... i might knock one out in a few weeks, but i do have a review of the Vapornine "nebula" model. The Ace is basically the same thing with a manual button.
@aikiryu1 wow , i'm really sorry to hear that dude. Puresmoker has their own support forum set up at pure-smokers(dot)com , I know Steve will always work to get a situation corrected.
i have used it with an 808 cartomizer , as long as you keep refilling it , the cartomizer can last as long as you want. If you mean in between refills it's about 20 puffs.
Hey Nick: How has the switch been working. I put one of those new switches on my protege and it seems to miss fire about every 4th or 5th hit. It's almost like it might be off center at times. rock on bro!
I love those little USPS Express boxes! Like getting a xmas present when I see it on the counter when I get home. Here's what I got:
Prodigy V2, one (1) silver 510 atty w/ whistle tip, four (4) Tenergy RCR123A 3.0 V 750mAh batteries, one (1) Tenergy RCR123A Charger, one (1) A/C wall plug for the charger, AND one (1) Auto charger cable as well (which I didn't expect).
Been using the VP Passthrough at 5v. and can't wait for the batteries to charge ;-)
yeah , Grimmgreen(dot)com wil be coming up someday ha ha... no , no vending , i want it to be more of an INFO-HUB , where noobs can get good info about vaping , reviews , tips , pictures , guides , and of course... giveaways!
Hey Nick: Do you notice a differance between 5-volts and 3.7-volts with the riskey juice? I Know the dulcis is way differant at 6-volts. Thanks for the great vid once again!
flavor wise , not a huge difference , it seems a bit sweeter to me at 5v than at 3.7v , the riskee i have is 24mg .. so at 5v it's a little to intense to vape for any period of time. I usually stick with 3.7v on the Riskee , simply because of the 24mg hah
i feel like i am stalking you! lol.. but i really enjoy your videos and i am learning a lot..thanks for everything! mod on mod action is always cool! lol.. i do have a non-mod question but i really have to know.. so feel free to pm me on vf..lol.. but are those curtains on your wall or do you have fabric wallpaper? and if it is a curtain, do you have a picture hanging on your curtain? :) sorry but i was always told if you wanna know, ask! so i am asking..
Hey Grimm, just ordered a Silver Bullet. I'm gonna try and wait and do my first 6v video test. 3 days, and it'll be here I think. Thanks for all your advice and great vids. I'm so glad I'm saving money on not smoking tobacco - because I'm spending a small fortune on kit! :) Loving it!
NICE! i think you will really like it Andy , 6v vaping is very different than 3.7v , remember to keep that atomizer wet wet wet , almost flooded. Looking forward to the video!
Did you have troubles with your adaptor? I can not use my 510s on it without using an adaptor to reach the center post. Gonna have to try knocking the center post out a bit.
Absolutely LOVE your logo too... I am going to get lots of use of this device. It vapes exactly the same as the V1 at 5v too but with mechanical switch....
God, whatever hapened to they had to raise the price another 30 bucks because of blah blah blah blah usa manufacturing blah blah blah blah blah and than chopping down their unit from 170 bucks to 70 bucks.
I hate being lying to. Steve and his wife have always been slimey fuckers when it comes to running puresmoker. that's a fact, but this a damn good price for a mod, I'll give em that
Hey grimm, can it use a singular 18650 battery at 3.7 volt or is it pure 5v?
dude kgone... what's your damage man? If you remember correctly the V2 was always going to be cheaper than the V1 , the price of the Passthrough is the one that went up. Steve is a good guy with a great battery , so watch what you say ok? and no , it is a strictly 5v device.
For only 70 bucks this things pretty darn good, the v1 had plenty of issues. I'll wait until enough people try this their self. If there's no bullshit like crankin on the atomizer too hard, mechanical failures on the switch with the v1, I might buy it.
I would think that adapter would work just fine. Have you used your adapters grimm? Any issues with adapters? Probably not but just checking.
ha ha... fair enough kgone. The switch on the V2 is fantastic , all mechanical , so there is nearly nothing that can go wrong with it. No issues with the adapter so far. It is truly a solid device.
Yo Grimm, my V2 arrived today and I love it. It was suppose to be a xmas present for my wife but she not diggin it ?WEIRD?? I guess shes is so use to her 3.7 VP2 and feels the added power the V2 has is a bit strong. I think it kicks ass all around . The V2's sleek size is much better for me and it performs amazing - BTW- RN4072 's rarely work cause of thread issues and do not use Joy 302s!
Great review. I think all PVs should have mechanical switches. My PS PT has failed me and i am sad about tht. The V2 looks NIIICE. I prefer the mako though!
after the shitty switch on the protege i have im weary about getting this.i have the silver bullet and its great the switch has never failed, not even one time.and the v1 of the prodigy has had similar probs with the switch.i know they have mech switches now but still.its enough to make you steer clear especially if its the only one you can afford.
Awesome vid Grimm! I just started with a 510 on the 1st. So far I have 3 co-workers ordering their own kits... and one of them bought a Prodigy V2 BEFORE ME... AARRGH! Well at least I can try his before I buy one. Really appreciate your reviews. Vape On!
Nick I just wanted to thank you, after seeing your videos it inspired me to quit smoking after 28 years, thank you !!!! I am now vaping a cheap mall e-cig, but on 01-09-2010 i should be getting my 2012, and my 9 juices from liquidplanet, those guys are the best, especially i think rich he called me in Chicago from his house and in return i gave him 2 more customers besides me. Now a ? from a new vaper would you recommend the protege or the prodigy, they both seem great. P.S. thanks Pete
wow cool! congratulations man! , i love the guys at eliquidplanet , such good service. So prodigy vs protege.. well , it depends on if you want to vape at 3.7v (Protege') or 5v (Prodigy) 5v is a much more intense experience. and 3.7v is much more mellow. Probably more of what you are use to.
Thanks yet again for another great review. Which version do you like best with cartomizers? Protege or Prodigy V2? Wasn't sure if these vape best at 3.7v or 5v. I primarily use cartomizers and need a mod that works best with these. Also, where's the best place to get adapters for the kr808's? My other possible choice of 3.7v pv is the Janty eGo that just came out. Any thoughts on that pv?
i personally still like cartomizers at 3.7v , i have tried them at 5v , but i get worried about the filler material burning up. I'd been waiting for this review. -Thanks Nick. Awesome .. Just ordered mine this morning, and can't wait until it gets here. With the assist from you, I feel like I made the right choices. 510s and V2 will B killer.
Hey Nick: Great vid as always. Looks like the v-2 has come a long ways from the original prodigy. Oh , by the way the protege i have is still working great after 3 months . as a 3.7 volt mod its awesome. My first love is still my silver bullet with out a doubt at 6 volts!
I know that once I got my Prodigy V1 I never looked back at the regular e-cig batteries again.
I had my issues with the V1, namely in the switch and resistor which I have since replaced/removed, but this device looks pretty solid. Be sure to keep us updated on how the switch holds up. With things like that if it doesn't fail early on it'll last forever... and if it does hold up to the test of time I may very well have to (somewhat begrudgingly) give PS some more of my money. lol
Cont - So I had a little awakening after he told me this and realized how much of a waste of time it is trying to figure what volt my PV is. Bottom line is that I like using 2 -3 volt batteries as opposed to one 3.7 volt battery regardless oif the level of charge. I'll leave the analytical tech BS for the tech cause I'm just a VAPER. PV and Atty models along with juice preference is what really matters
I am working on getting my first high voltage PV. I have read alot that 6v can sometimes taste burnt and that 5v is the sweet spot for Vaping. Do you find this to be true.
I can't wait for the final review...I have been waiting for someone to review the V2. After reading about it I think this may be the High Voltage Device I am looking for.
Yup , 5v is a real sweet spot , although now i'm not sure that i have even had a true 6v experience. As long as you keep the atty wet , high voltage will treat you nice.
Some atties and some juices just work better together with certain batteries and certain devices, I've given up on trying to label the voltage... you know?
Hey Nick. As usual I enjoyed the video and I was hoping to get my V2 today but it looks as though tomorrow will be the day. I've come to the realization that its totally inaccurate to even try and determine PV voltage cause its never consistant and does vary a good amount like you said as batteries wear. The type of atty changes it quite a bit too + or - a good deal etc. Get this the Silver Bullet running 2 CR123's and 510 is actually 5 volts at full charge as per CDDZ from Altsmoke
I was on 6v for a month. I just received a 5v device last week and seriously, like that voltage way better. 6v can run your atty dry while your inhaling and you get a really bad taste. You'll feel the need to add liquid on 5v way before it gets ugly. Also, i burned 2 attys on the first drag with my 6v with freshly charged batteries. With 5v i feel i can still vape violently and my attys are just fine.
That V2 is slick as shit man. I am debating on getting one. the only problem i have with it, is the fact that it isnt interchangeable between 6 and 3.7 volts. thats what im looking for.
Might wanna be careful because some people might think V2 Cigs not the Prodigy V2.
