Things have changed... For better.

1- To sync audio from external devices not attached to the camera's inputs and and multi-camera video on timeline, you do NOT need any claps. There is a software called PLURAL EYES from Cingular software (also found on you tube) that can sync everything with 1 click. (I can't believe I'm making some company get rich by revealing my secret...) So there it is. Another awesome recorder is the Zoom H-4 sold at B&H.

IMovie does have a voice over feature. go to the media tab and go into the sound section. on the bottom there will be a red button. push it and record. use i mic because the computer's mic system sucks. use a mic.
