I am very interested in private currency too. I've been doing some preliminary research into the legal/law side of it. Are you familiar with Rob Menard, Mary Croft, or the Freeman society? Their ideas regarding personal sovereignty seem to be the key to creating our own money supply/barter system (IMO).
Question: Why have a local currency that can circulate everywhere? Silver currency promotes hoarding, not circulation. Local fiat circulates only locally, stimulating the local economy and has no hoarding value, especially stamp scrip.
Why do these alternate-currency people have to use "dollar" to name their currency? This causes unnecessary confusion and conflict and gives the fedgov an easy excuse to harass them.
Dave, any more news on precious metal currency in NH? Why not go with a plain description of the metal type with an imprint of it's weight? As in "Silver 1 OZ." or even better "AG 1 OZ". The lack of symbolism in this approach decouples the currency with government. Why make it look like funny money at all? It could even be square.

Lysander Spooner on the one ounce coin. A "Spooner"... Definitely watch Schaeffer Cox's video series called "The Plan". Excellent information here.

Does anyone know the status of the silver shire?
I have a lot of interest in private currency but it's legal state seems to be a big problem.
I also have a bunch of ideas on preventing counterfeiting and other problems.

I am not that familiar with those people.
So in your legal research what did you find?

Too much for this comment section!
Just search youtube or google video for those names. Winston Shrout is another good one.
