Thank you for your video. I am 31 yrs old and had lots of back pain and shoulder pain. I tried some of it in myself while watching you and it really helps. I subscribe to your video and Thank you so much. God Bless You!
thank you! i iced but that didnt help or maybe it did but i then saw you said heat towel and that kinda helped but still in lots of pain i jumped in the shower and put the shower head on a jet so i get a nice massage while hot hot water calmed my muscles down! thanks again your the best! i wouldnt mind getting a massage from you!!! ;)
@TheYaom If you were nearby, I bet I could find the origin of your pain. Have you thought about seeing a massage therapist? This will be the easiest way to find what muscles are triggering your pain. (called referred pain) Many times, headaches come from the headache muscles, located in the cervical vertabrae. I wished I could be of more assistance but I do suggest getting a massage from someone who is well trained. XO
@notaditdot The pain started when I slept on a mattress that was very hard, I had to sleep on it over a month and then I went to a hotel and slept on a soft mattress and in one night the pain disappeared!!!
When I got back home I bought a new mattress but my back didn't agree with it, so I went for yet another mattress and it sucked, then I went over to my mom to visit and her mattress took my pain away.
I am thinking it has to do the mattress combined with the fact that I use computers a lot.
@TheYaom Absolutely! Mattresses do make a huge difference! I like a soft mattress cause of my bony body but most doctors want me to sleep on a board. Not gonna happen. My back pain disappeared when I changed mattresses too!
@notaditdot by the way, I checked the muscles you mentioned on this video (trapezius, rhomboids) and it's EXACTLY what hurts on me!!! Plus the muscle in front of the neck (Scalenes) I just chcked on a website!
I had this for over two years and half.... and MRI shows my neck is fine!
@TheYaom The scalene muscles are also the 'breathing' muscles so if you are having difficulty breathing, they may need some manipulation. Your SCM may also be hindering you and causing referred pain. Heck, we're all connected. What affects one area also affects others. Thats why I like massage therapy because of the connectivity. A physical therapist only works on one part of your body but not on other parts that maybe causing pain or making pain worse in the target area.
@notaditdot so what specialist you recommend I see? one last question, I heard my condition is fairly common these days thanks to computers... is it true?
@TheYaom It would be difficult for me to say because I can't personally examine your muscles. I would get a Swedish massage though and let that person decide where the pain is originating and then they can manipulate those muscles and hopefully get you feeling better. I work at a computer all day but mainly suffer from soreness around my sacroilliac. I have my own homemade remedy for that, which will be my next video. This week is wedding week for my BFF's daughter so I'm really busy. XO
@notaditdot hockey game I dont skate well and 45 deg into the ice with my head and neck to absorb ice..has no give, I need surgery but I did some PT at home and built trap muscles over the injury just cant work like I used to
@StealYaMind So sorry to hear this. I know you must be in pain! Your clavicles should always align but a massage therapist can help you I'm sure. Ever heard of 'rolfing' or structural integration? Its a series of massages that helps rebuild your alignment. You may get some real relief by trying this but it is costly. You will need at least 7 or 8 massage sessions to help realign your body but whats the cost if you get surgery? A lot more! Check into it sweetie. I think it could help you!
@StealYaMind That's so sad! But you are not alone! So many people are in the same position as you! This economy sucks the big one! Hope the sun shines brightly for you soon! XO
I am glad I found your videos...I injured my back over the last 4 years of high school in band, having to carry a drum. Ever since then my back, shoulders, and neck just kill me and your videos have really helped out.
@TwoParallelUniverse That's so sweet of you to say! I sure hope you keep on the road to recovery. It can happen! For years, I suffered with neck pain especially. I sought the help of a massage therapist who totally helped me... so you might also try getting a massage sometime! XO Carolyn
Then, he placed all the bottles right where he puctured or bleed the skins. Then, waited about 20 minutes. The blackish blood came out in the bottles. They reliefed the pains but it returns again. I need to go to do the same thing again. The Specialist Ortho told me that I need to place rubber bottle with boiled water and place the rubber bottle where the pain is. I tried it. It gave me less pain now. Anywhere I need to see the Chinese man to bleed the clotted blood again. 3 times is enough.
@rahmatnews That's really interesting stuff! I may have learned something about this in Massage Therapy School but its been a while:o) This may be a stupid question but have you tried icing using a gel pac? And using ibuprofen or naproxen?
The shoulder pains that I had unbearable pains. I went to the Chinese family at Simpang 70 Kampong Beribi for the bleeding of the pains. First he massage by beating the areas with his back right hand. Then, after the affected areas reddish caused by the beating of the pains areas. He took the needle to make skin cut or punctured the areas which were more than 10 points. He inserted cotton into the empty clean bottles. He took the lighter. He burned the cotton inside the small empty bottle.

Yes I have been having shoulder pain for about 6 months now. Nothing unbearable, but just annoying. I think I may have strained something, or perhaps its bad posture whilst using the computer or something. It clicks a lot and I can feel a grinding in there somewhere.
@CelticReject The 'clicks' you hear are lactic acid, which must be released if you want it to stop. I use a doorway to help dig into the pain. I find that most of the time, its in my rhomboids, which are inside the shoulder blade near the spine. If you can locate where the pain is, and get into it, you'll release the lactic acid and feel much better! XO Carolyn PS Working at a computer a lot is the pits! I do it everyday!
@notaditdot Hi, Many thanks. Do you mean to 'get into it' I would need to apply some pressure on to the area to release the Lactic Acid? I am going to Google lactic acid now! Cheers again. CR.

@notaditdot Anytime you rub or palpate near neurovascular bundle, you will elicit normal tenderness/pain. Study findings: Massage impairs La(-) & H+ removal from muscle after exercise by mechanically impeding blood flow.

Very good video. Don't forget the latissimus dorsi muscles. They can play havoc to trying to improve posture. Nice point about lifting the shoulders. Very important. Do it as one lays in bed on one's side.
@BackInsight So true! Lats need good stretches too! And you are right. They frequently get left out... I always have problems with my rhomboids locking up. I work on them using a door way (press into them with the corner of the door) and it works pretty darn good most of the time! XO Carolyn
you are so sexy. Thanks for the advice. I'd love to be your man, but being respectful, i will still say you are hot, very pretty and great breast and legs
Hi thanks this has been very helpfull. I woke up a few days ago and all my neck down to my midle back has been in pain ever since. The trpezi has pain. I believe it is called rise neck .
thank you so much - I have shoulder pain and have just had ultra sound that shows no tears - My pain runs down the front of my upper arm and throbs like a toothache at times and I have some temporary numbing down the outside of my arm to my wrist - moist heat and pain relievers helps - they tell me to find a physiotherapist ...
@ladywillowdragon Try massaging your own neck. I will be doing a video about this soon but its not that hard. (or get someone to do it for you!) The pain you are feeling is called 'referred pain' and is probably coming from your neck or your T3 trigger points on your shoulders. Referred pain can make your hands go numb or even go to sleep. If you feel a burning in your T3, get a swedish massage. It'll end your pain a lot quicker and be a lot cheaper! XO Carolyn
thank you carolyn i hope it will help this tips to reduce my shoulder pain,im suffering from tendinitis..oops your beautiful i love u carol.take care.
@aboazizzi Sorry you have tendinitis! If you massage T3 often, it will also help neck and shoulder pain. (T3 is a trigger point thats located in the middle of the shoulder via the trapesius muscle) XO Carolyn

Ibuprofen or Naproxen can really help. Ice is the protocol for onset of injury for the first 72 hours. After that you can rotate ice with heat. (Moist heat is recommended) Massage therapy is also a great tool if you can afford it. You might also try the lower back pain technique I have posted in my videos. Stretching is also a great tool for both types of pain. Hope this helps. Carolyn
would be nice if you use more profesional environment like your massage therapy office and dress more appropriate to represent massage therapy field in the public..look at your comments from gringo, if you dress less revealing , you wont' have that!
Not everyone feels the same way. This was simply an informal video. I no longer have my massage therapy office and work at home now. I never dress inappropriately for a massage, dear. This video is about shoulder pain, not massage therapy:o) (In case you didn't notice) The tips are what's important here anyway.
