  • Diana Ross is the best!

  • I do think Beyonce will be remebered in 20 years, but no one will ever compare to the icons of the 70's... Does anyone from NYC remember THE BETTER DAYS on 8th Ave and 49th...

Love this song from Diana Ross :) So many great memories and it's still awesome today :)

    Thank you !

    :D

  • This isn't from her "Diana, Extended" CD, it's the original LP version. Obviously a mistake--I'm disappointed. ):

  • I know Donna is considered the queen of disco and Diana didn't consider herself to be a disco artist but when Diana did disco she brought a certain regal feel and sophistication to it. She was truly (The Diva of Disco.)

  • @phoneke queen of disco would be Donna Summer. There is no way you can CONFINE Diana Ross to just disco. Shes a QUEEN FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Diana is awesome on this song....sexy and classy.... i think this is from 1976 or 1977.

  • It's all in the bass and high hat.

  • I don't want a cure from loving Diana Ross's songs!

  • A classic, it wasn't all punk in England in the late seventies, far from it, most of us preferred disco.

  • Ah, the seventies especially the mid to late seventies! Uncomplicated yet dazzling, fun - a natural high!

  • THIS IS MY JAM

  • this is not the extended version. this is the album version back in 1975

  • I can remember being in the club when this song came on...high az hell!...feeling like a flower....in a zone!

  • I WISH I LOOKED LIKE DIANA ROSS BACK IN THE DAY. SHE, ALONG WITH BEVERLY JOHNSON, NAOMI CAMPBELL, BEYONCE, TYRA BANKS, AND LIL KIM ARE AMONG SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN THAT I WISHED I LOOKED LIKE!!!!

  • @MsKeith1969 lil kim??? lol

  • I WISH I LOOKED LIKE DIANA ROSS BACK IN THE DAY

  • soundcloud[dot]com/breevil/breevil-i-dont-need-it

  • iF THERE'S A CURE FOR THIS I DON'T WANT IT!

  • Can't think of the seventies without thinking about this disco classic- This sound exudes eroticism and was a fun lengthy song to dance to at the clubs... LOVED IT

  • hav always luved this...cool,sumptuous,dreamy,exotic,heady,sensual,feminine + disco-like

  • thanks for the memories

  • Thanks 4 the memories. This was great dance music in its time.

  • wonderful sexy rhythm!!!! :-D

  • HERE IS ANOTHER TIGHT ONE GF...

  • Ooh, it BURNS !

  • The first couple of minutes is a song of itself. Always liked that part of it. However, the entire song is great.

  • love this. :D

  • XXX

  • ...i read this was actually written with Marvin Gaye in mind......classic

  • This jam brings the freaky Disco Duck out in everyone!

  • lo mejor de la musica de los romances del disco!grecia y panama verano magicos 2010!

  • no there's better versions.

  • i agree, the intro should have been a song all its own, it jams harder than anything i've ever heard.

  • Diana Ross could cause a hangover with her singing when the song is over with every song she sings!

  • It is definately has in the beginning of this mix a hypnotic hangover feel to this it makes feel that one has a sweetest love hangover or just a hangover. It is perfect.

  • so smooth!!!!!!!

  • This song is absolutely incredible - I'm glad it doesn't get much play cuz I can enjoy it more.

  • This was one of the most awesome disco classic that doesn't get the play it should. I heard it the other day for the first time in years and it was a reminder of how Diana was a major part in the disco era. Someone needs to do a remake (Missy).

  • Diana took love or hangover or both to a new level with this song! Excellent!

  • this pic of diana is RED hot!!!! wow is she sexy as fuck here..... loved disco jams like this that screamed sex - like donna summer love to love you baby....

  • that's a hot pic of diana the blue album cover.

  • Dedicating this song to my sweet love DeeDee, I got the sweetest hangover and it's you baby. I don't need no cure for you EVER! I love you always my babygirl :)

  • I love this song!!!

  • One of my favorite solos by Diana. Happy early birthday, Diana.

  • Beyonce would show her how this song should be done.

  • Totally agree.

  • @yurherenow

WTF? Talk to me when Beyonce has a song endeared to listeners worldwide for 3 or more decades. THEN you can compare her the likes of The Boss. Beyonce could NEVER do it better because Diana is the way maker, the original.

  • @junklinjr Beyonce,Lady Gaga and the rest of them are representative of the problem with artists today. The songs are forgettable. The focus seems to mostly on the spectacle, gimic and performance.

  • @tgeighties it aint beyonce's fault that they don't give her songs like this one to sing.

  • @yurherenow All artists are in control of their art when they say yes or no to a song or concept. The problem is that the public has been dumbed down so much to what is acceptable that mediocre music is all that's required.

  • @junklinjr I saw Usher and P. Diddy or whatever name he is calling himself these days on Amercan Idol the other nightand honestly...will anybody remember those songs in a month, let alone a decade? They were both trying to be Michael Jackson. But what neither of them seemed to get....nor do most of today's artists if they are trying to be the next King or Queen of Pop or whatever,Michael always focused on the music first...and then came the performance. Not the other way around.

  • @tgeighties even Micheal was crazy about Beyonce.

  • @yurherenow ...what ??? how old are you??? Beyonce can only WISH she ever has a classic like this........

  • @dirtyedna maybe but beyonce is a better booty shaker.

  • @yurherenow are u kidding? call me when the shuttle lands!!!! lmao!!

  • @yurherenow Don't ever curse Diana like that...

  • @peachesncreamme beyonce gets down she's the best booty shaker out there just about. diana is just a singer.

  • @yurherenow Girl, Beyonce ain't even in the same category as Ms. Ross, Beyonce won't be remembered 15 or 20 years from now. You makin' my eyes hurt reading all is nonsense...

  • @peachesncreamme thx you could not have said it better!!!

  • @yurherenow ....diana is just a singer...HAHAHAHAHA....another f--ing stupid comment from a stupid young punk who has no idea what you're talking about...learn your history IDIOT.

  • @dirtyedna wrong Beyonce was the lead singer of destinys child and they had lot's of hit records.

  • @yurherenow ..by the way, I can STILL remember hearing Love Hangover for the first time in the Gallery in NYC and I can guarantee that Bey never got a responce from a crowd like this song did when it first came out......PUT A RING ON THAT !!!

  • @dirtyedna LOL

  • @yurherenow ..i like bey...but real talented singers don't have to shake that ass...just goes to show you..who's talented and who is somewhat talented...would bey really be as famous without the booty shakin and little outfits...hmmmm...something to think about....

  • Pure disco exotica

    Luv,also the switch at 2mins 50

    A fave song 4me

  • FAN..BLOODY....TASTIC ....!!!!

  • I love ya Diana Ross alway, you are so real!

  • OMG, if it is a good love hangover, wonderful, stick with the "high"!

  • Work it work it work it ~ !

  • this is a classic 80s porn music - sexy like a mofo and i'd grab the next thing to me if i heard this in a club. come to think of it i did and got a slap for my troubles.

  • intro is sexy and grooving (and quite funky), it could have had its own version, but it was the disco era. however even when the tempo sped up it held the groove.

  • @01tnql I agree. I wish this song had an alternate version with just the music from the intro. The music for the intro is my favorite part of the song. It's so relaxing, is a steady tempo and is beautiful.

  • @mezzo1741donna summers last dance also starts slow then speeds up, but this intro w/ the strings and all is smokin!!!!

  • @mezzo1741 you are right, this should have had a seperate version. donna summers last dance also starts slow then speeds up, but this intro w/ the strings and all is sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet.....LOVE......

  • @01tnql I feel the same way about that Donna Summer song Radio or I think it's called Radio. It starts out slow and steady and then speeds up. Not that the sped up version is bad, but I just like slow, steady versions of songs sometimes.

  • @mezzo1741 yes, it was from the title of her greatest hits album of the same name: "on the radio"

  • Ross the eternal Star of a lifetime... this song was the prelude to the real disco era... they would play it for a half hours in the 70's, then came Donna... Ross was simply the best though and really really paved the way... Thank you Diane E. Ross...

  • Miss Diana, beautiful and talented for life!

  • Chicago House All The Way ! :)

  • Man check the bassline!!!!!

  • This is great singing for those who think "riffs" is great singing. This song requires a sensual tone that can grove with the melody. This couldn't of been done better by anyone!

  • I disagree....it's not her voice that makes the song,it's the music.

  • Don't undervalue Ross' vocals on Love Hangover. Her sensual voice is just as important as the music. This entire groove line was taken and put on Thelma Houston's "Don't leave me this way" which is a good song but certainly doesn't have the staying power of "Hangover" ....I wonder why?

  • it was diana's interpretation of the music that makes the song. the 5th dimension released the same "music" & even though they were great vocalists it is Ross' version that topped the charts and remains a classic 30 years later.

  • Thanks for the upload! The images of the diva are absolutely gorgeous.

  • I don't wanna cure for this!!!

  • Good stroking music!

  • a timeless song

  • the 5th Dimension did it first !

  • @urbanvibecanada Actually, Miss Ross recorded it in 1975 and released on the lp "Diana Ross" - with a single from it, "I Thought It Took A Little Time." Upon hearing the album, the 5th Dimension did a copycat cover and rushed it out. Word got to Motown, and Motown issued Ross' version on 45 and it hit huge - burying the 5th Dimension. Ross was first.

  • wrong it was the other way around, but then Diana discovered the Jackson 5 to right ?

  • Sorry Bud!! was the other way around..5th Dimension !st then Motown rush Diane into the studio for this version...which is way better than 5th dimension's

  • Hal Davis recorded the track in 1975 thinking it ideal for Marvin Gaye or Diana Ross. They were his two favorite vocalists to work with and thought Diana would be sexier on it, so he cut it on her. The album came out Feb 12th, 1976 and two weeks later,Motown issued I Thought It Took A Little Time as a single. 2 weeks after that, the 5thDimension released their shorter version of Love Hangover.Motown, certain Hangover was a #1for Diana, rushed out her version. Both entered the chart the same day.

  • Just did alittle research and you are right on the money on this.....thanks for the update!!! Sam

  • Thanks. It's always stuck in my craw that Ross lost a top 10 hit with Motown killing it to support Love Hangover - the stronger track. I agree that ITITALT was the correct follow up to her recent #1, Theme From Mahogany, and it was doing well out of the gate until The 5th Dimension did their work. It happened to Ross in '64 when the Where Did Our Love Go album came out, and Nella Dodds released Come See About Me. Motown quickly put The Supremes' version out early just as Baby Love hit #1.

  • supremester2.......Are you Diana Ross?? LOL....maybe Mary !!! Sam

  • LOL.......... no - I doubt that Miss Ross reads these. I'm just a guy who stopped dead in his tracks upon hearing Baby Love in 1964 and have been a fan ever since. I saw DMF several times, DMC once and Miss Ross solo too many to count - literally. I've followed her career closely, so I know the story on every release, how it did, and in most cases, why. I've met her: she's sweet, kind, caring, fun and not the diva peeps think and want her to be.

  • Check out this clip: the supremes i hear a symphony

its my fave on here. Diana is obviously nervous and they are doing this live for the first time - just weeks after recording it. She begings with the chorus instead of the verse, covers beautifully, but it shows how great she was at such a young age. Also, Theres A Place For Us The Supremes is another gem - especially at 1:37 into it. Her shows today are better than ever, BTW.

  • This song is heaven; really takes you to another place. Thats why its one of my favourites ever. Fantastic doesnt do it justice.

  • A true diva....... " If there's a cure for this I DONT WANT IT" gotta luv this. I luv the part when she does the lil laugh at the end.

  • classic

  • she should have won a grammy for this. not sure if it was even nominated.

  • She was nominated, but lost like she did the other 11 times.

  • you know even the girls in the hood loved this song...even the ones who said that B***H can't sing were dancing.

  • sweet memories..

  • This extended version is an absolute classic.

  • @swanstep Yes, one of the best classic tunes around.

  • This is the version I remember from the 70's they used to play on the radio.

  • I got the sweetest hangover

  • An amazing song that starts off nothing like the funky tune it soon turns into about two and a half minutes in. This sort of classy music is well suited to any modern, city centre cosmopolitan bar. This is timeless, funky and chilled music. Pure class.

  • Awesome, Love that bass-playing...

  • This takes me back to Shed 25 in Montreal in 1976, the strippers doing their stuff to this. Magical!!!!

  • Sweet. Anyone know where I can get this extended version? I can only ever find the 4mins one. I demand my 'extended mix' fix.

  • u better work GURL! lol

  • Great video and Diana Ross is the best!

  • DIVALIOUS!

  • A great song, quite like it when it speeds up and the guitar kicks in.

  • the original diva!!! Love it

  • This classic , still Kicks this is SOULLLL MUSIC , IN THE BEGINING THANKS MOTOWN

  • so sultry i love diana,s little moans at the start sexy lady.hot tune from hot summer 1976.this quality of song not around anymore sadly.

  • I, really enjoy listening to this song.

  • I have always loved Diana Ross, and she still looks great. Thank you Ms. Ross for being a special part of the lives of so many, This is the Real Boss, not Bruce Springsteen. The Etertainer of Music.. Who is perfect, let the one without sin cast the first stone.

  • what does beyonce have to do with diana ross's music? its almost impossible for ANYONE to mention their favorite artist (mariah carey, prince, michael jackson, janet, ect) without a beyonce fan saying 'but beyonce did this..." no offense, but no one but BEYONCE FANS care. diana ross fans are HERE to list to DIANA ROSS NOT BEYONCE. if it werent FOR diana ross, mj, janet jackson, mariah carey and prince, there would be NO beyonce, she's not creative enough to come up with her own ideas rofl!!!

  • monica the first night

  • true, also a hot song

  • "If there's a cure forth, I dont want it" This song was the SHYYYYYYTTTTT!!!

  • I never tire of this song and have loved it since I was 10 years old! I am in my own world when I hear this song. I just LOVE the extended version. It is so classy that I almost cry because it is so beautiful. Diana Ross, you have the voice of an angel and are the Queen of Soul.

  • This is the album version, or at the least the version I have in my 1976 old "Diana Ross" vinyl album and the one I've been loving for over thirty years. I was never satisfied with edits - only this one does it for me. An ultimate classic.

  • I heard this extended version on local radio when I was off line due to lack of money and glad I found this on here.

  • love this song!!!!!
