What does China, Russia, and Japan has anything to do with North Korea? People there will continue to speak in korean and will choose korea over any other countries. Many separated relatives will come together and south korea will expand on many ancient historical places that exists on the North.
@DavidBannerrules1 my mom is dead. nice joke.. ha ha. cunt.. anyway.. im aint no cummunist..and never was.. but your facts bout China are pathetic.. you are racist and ignorant by yourself with thinking like that. first of all china have great history. most of the inventions like paper , firepowder, silk etc. ) are made by Chinese many years ago. second thing now they have fastest growing economics in the world.and its in the second place after US.
Just to add to this. There isn't the connection with North Korea as their once was. Grandparents may still have family but that is becoming less common. SK youth have said many times we are not the same as North. They are different race & people even though they are both Korean. I envision ethnic problems and discrimination similar to like with ethnic Japanese. Another problem is the fear of overthrowing government by NK sympathizers. This is understandable & I can see why they don't want this.
@BlazinNSoul They are not a different race and people. They are the same race and people, but they have lived under very different systems. When I ask my Korean friends they say this. For them it is an emotional thing, reunification. They also say that it would probably take 3 generations and vast amounts of money to reassimilate the people.
This isn't that hard to understand. Many South Koreans don't want an re-unification as in ever. That is more what the government wants but I don't blame them. They have been separated for to long and have completely different views. Many SK I have talked to say they have taken to long to get where they are and don't plan on giving that up. It wold be slimier to what happen with Russia. Unification isn't always the best choice. It would create more problem then it would solve.
You can read their propaganda paper on line. Its frightening. Its all that any person in North Korea is allowed to read. No outside journalism or media ever! Type in DPRK Newspaper.
Idiots. North Korea wont collapse. It will be South Korea that collapses. Unfortunate but face facts. They are allowed to expand their terror, arms and nukes without any checks and balances.
Both of North/South Korea will reunificate sooner or later.....Originally they were one country more than 5,000 years....There will be no sharing the land of N Korea obiously.........No China, no Russia, no Japan or no America has right to occupy the territory of N. Korea.....
well some parts of north west North Korea do speak chinese and some parts of North East North Korea did at one point speak Russian however they are all the same koreans. this video is completely bullshit except for the fact that South korea will one day hopefully take (not a small piece) but all of north korea and they can once again be a united country for all koreans
no i think it would be a united korea but the task of reuniting would be a tremendous task for south korea remember the problems he east and west germany reunited bringing the poor socialist state into a modern ist world econamy
Haha it has not done very much invading recently if you look at hisory its the western powers invading every where. They have their reasons from oil to democary, its just another view point.
@Quinno77 What right does China have to invade Tibet, Uyghurstan, Kashmir and Taiwan and claim the entire South China Sea as their own and support the dehumanizing regime of N. Korea? The US, at least believes in individual liberty, rights, freedom, weak government and tries to disseminate that belief, which is at least boon than curse. What does China has to offer to the world? China is the direct opposite of that and virtually the continuation of the USSR. We aren't living in the 20th century
Cost? of course. NK has mineral wealth, which includes gold, and lots of it. It produced as much as California during 1800s. SK needs cheap labor and NK needs capital and know how. Korea will be a very very competitive country for high quality products and services. A transportation hub to Europe, China, Russia, and Japan (cargo & pass). Military spending would be reduced (security) and reallocated to roads and bridges. Cost? Korea can't afford NOT to unify. It's begun!
@coolLife1500 It hasnt begun. There are sporadic exchanges of a commercial nature, but unification of any sort is a long way off. If NK did `collapse` in some way not involving war the cost of unification would require shed loads of money that would need huge contributions from other countries. SK could not manage on its own. Quite apart from the problem of there being effectively 24 million enemployed. It would be an awesome task.
@chanctonbury63 There will be other countries involved, just like with EG. The difference being that NK happens to be located in between econ giants. It's in everyones interests for NK to be opened, so that goods and services can get through. I can't think of any other part of the world that can compare in terms of econ traffic, once it occurs. I'm not saying that this will happen over night, however, I think it will occur sooner than later.
More like pouring refugees create a well defined ethnic Korean population zones, well within Manchuria (Is true now...look at Yanbian and other cities). And after 100 yrs, the area would still be maked as China and Korea, however, ethnic Koreans will dominate the area (econ & politically = Seoul). Add another 100 years and Manju will be controlled by Korea once again. What, you don't think it happened before! Look it up.
@redwhitedude China is a federation of countries. It's not as stable as some would like it to be. Communism is that glue that holds everthing together. This will change within our life time. Holding on to it's parts of the country (see western China) will be even tougher in the future. History shows us that's when China gets invade many times throughout China's history; last time being less than 100 years ago.
@coolLife1500 If it collapses as you might be suggesting who will take over? Korea is not a given looking at the population of the region. The people in the north have a checkered history of setting up their own states.
@coolLife1500 Communism is not holding everything together in China. The Communist Party is. There is essentially no Communism now in China, but it is still a one party state.
South Korea will swallow north Korea, and suffer for about the next 50 years to bring up north Korea up to speed. In a way chinese may want that because they want that rust belt of Manchuria right next to a vibrant economy to help boost the region instead of that black hole of north Korea.
I wander if SK can take over NK like that. This is worse than West Germany taking in East Germany. The differences maybe are already to great to be 1 country.
who the fuck would want to take over such a piece of shit country anyways its not like their technologically advanced or have any kind of economy worth reviving. it would cost s. korea billions just to level up the north's economy to the souths
@YBTHAROCKSTAR88 I have only been in SK. Not NK. I have always asked SK people for their opinions on all this, and what seems to be the common theme is that it is an emotional thing first and foremost. "They are our people", they say. It is clear that they realise the enormity of the task if the NK regime would `collapse` or whatever, but they all seem to want unification.
@rocker78able Not the end of the story by any means. I have asked Korean friends this question and they reckon it will take Three generations and vast sums of money to achieve decent assimilation. Quite apart from (re)education,
infrastructure and all the obvious stuff, you will have effectively, 24 million unemployed people that will need to be clothed, fed for many years. It will cost a fortune for decades.
@KesselDynastyLeafs Because it would be a flagrant disregard of international law if another country took over the land, and they would catch endless shit for it. Sanctions out the ass. No country is that stupid. South Korea is the only country with the rights to that land.
@rocker78able The South really shouldn't reunify with the North from an economic perspective, given that the GDP per capita ratio is 17:1. According the the WSJ, it would cost $2-5 trillion to fix up the North Korean economy. If North Korea collapses China will com in and make North Korea some sort of puppet state.
They would remain separate. Nobody wants millions of starving North Koreans swarming over the border. I'm sure South Korea would provide the lions share of assistance during transition to democracy.
@oygp yes and no. South korea do not want Northern Koreans to cross over and ruin economy and shoot up instability as it did in east/west Germany unification. Having said that, South korea probably will build a gigantic wall at the 34th parallel with 50cal. machine gun to scare north koreans to saturate the south (joke). i feel bad for ppl of north korea but..south korea won't able to manage northern ppl and their mentality and they are programmed into all that waste of trash about kim.
@bruceyung70 thats very unlikely for them to do that, the south korean government already has a north korean transition government of north korean defectors already in place in case of a immediate collapse, and its pretty hard to cross the 38th parallel anyway ...even by sea... but the major issue is huge amounts of north koreans crossing the chinese border, which would prompt chinese officials to authorize a chinese martial law in north korean sovereignty to ease flow of immigration
south korea is practically ready to fight japan for three islands that have all of 2 people there( ok, lots of territorial waters too) theyd nver stand for this. russia has enogh problems and china. well theyve been trying to look good so they wouldnt try
at the worst therel beinfightin btween north korean generals before the U.N. goes "blah blah protect civilians and stop the fighting" meaning "ok south korea, take northkoea back now. and china, stay out of it this time!"
This scenario is unlikely. First of all, why would China, Russia and Japan want to take care of millions of North Koreans and the reconstruction cost? Russia and Japan have enough financial problems of their own. This would exacerbate China's internal strife and might just push it over the end. But the greatest reason why they would never want to do this is South Korea will go nuclear to the max and will want Goguryeo territory back from China. Even the U.S. will not be able to stop her.
The South Koreans would never tolerate China or Russia claiming Korean lands let alone Japan. The Koreans HATE the Japanese. They'd go to war with ANY country that attempted to claim Korean territory.
