Nahh, snipers should not be one shot kill. With my m40a5 I have over 900 kill, and mostly all to the head, now yeah I shot to the body, but itd be far too easy if it was a one shot kill. Stay as it is, only thing that has to be patched is USAS frag round and kill with MAV
You are confusing the M98B with the M82(A1). Barrett is a weapon manufacturer not the gun model or type which is what most cod players think since they've used the "Barrett .50 cal" in the game.

Statistically speaking... the M98B is the best sniper in the game. It does 59 damage past 75m vs the 55 past 60m of the M40A5(Aka the M98 does roughly 65dmg at 60m). Not to mention the bullet drop of the M98B is SUBSTANTIALLY lower than the M40s. Chambering time for the M40 is 1.1s and 1.3s for the M98, which is negligible at long range. M40s max range is 2450m and the M98s is 3250m. Which is important for the third expansion to come out later this year. Regardless, Im just saiyan ;D
Both with flashlight and other things in the game like car lights and lamps, i think they have made them a little to bright. In real life, i dont get blended by looking up at a light at night. And i dont get freakin water in my eyes.

The flashlights they would use has an insane amount of lumens, which would probably still show outside (and FYI, they last way longer than 30 seconds). Could be worse, though. They could've given them a strobe option, which would've sucked.
the flash lights i use in airsoft are powerful enough to blind you for a second, if i get those flash lights for airsoft i think it will be even more powerful in a game of actual war :P

I strongly prefer the M98B over the M40A5 purely for its strong velocity. The barrett suffers nearly no bullet drop at long distance and the bullet gets there quickly. I feel the M40 is a bit sluggish, and it suffers quite a bit of drop, only adding more difficulty in landing an accurate shot on target. BUT THATS JUST ME
i think at close range, ALL of the bolt - action sniper rifles should kill with one shot anywhere ESPECIALLY the m98b...the semi - autos should be 2 - 3 to the body and one to the head...but it just makes it unfair that you wait soooo long for the m98b and when you finally get it it fucking sucks....to those that don't know...in real life you don't even need to be hit by a .50 cal bullet to lose a limb...just the shot wizzing by you could take your arm off...so a direct shot should kill...js
@zkundinger I dont think it's 50.cal, i remember reading somewhere it is a modified Gun from the M98 series a loaded with smaller caliber bullets, 7.76mm (not the ammo type, but i used it to show you what sort of ammo it uses) i could be totally wrong though.

the m98b is good at range due to the fact that its bullet travels faster so you are more likely to hit a target at range, also it hits with more power :)

...Just because it's a Barrett, that doesn't mean it's semi-auto. Yes, the M82 from the MW series is a semi-auto .50 cal, but the M98 is a bolt action .338 Magnum. If they put a semi-auto .50 cal in multiplayer (like the one in the mission "Kafferov") it would be way overpowered and unbalanced.

The M98B is in fact a Barret but, part of the class that fires smaller rounds. It is a weapon that fires high velocity rounds at longer distances. M98A1 Barret 50 cal. is a weapon that does the exact same thing but, fires a much larger round with a 42.8g projectile. The M98B, fires a .338 Lupa Magnum, which is powerful enough to use for hunting trips and military uses against foot-mobiles.

Firstly... he's playing on console. "End game uber weapons".. the m16 is actually the "best" and its your default US rifle. All scope in times are the same zoom in.. followed by >3.4>holo>rds/kobra/iron sights. Aim assist is not a myth dude.

Quickscoping in BF3 is overall pointless, because BF3 incorporates real-world concepts like human error and movement. It doesn't matter how accurate your no-scope was, it'll miss and you'll fail. Sorry CoD kids, looks like it's back to reality!

the m98b is good at range due to the fact that its bullet travels faster so you are more likely to hit a target at range, also it hits with more power :)

...Just because it's a Barrett, that doesn't mean it's semi-auto. Yes, the M82 from the MW series is a semi-auto .50 cal, but the M98 is a bolt action .338 Magnum. If they put a semi-auto .50 cal in multiplayer (like the one in the mission "Kafferov") it would be way overpowered and unbalanced.

The M98B is in fact a Barret but, part of the class that fires smaller rounds. It is a weapon that fires high velocity rounds at longer distances. M98A1 Barret 50 cal. is a weapon that does the exact same thing but, fires a much larger round with a 42.8g projectile. The M98B, fires a .338 Lupa Magnum, which is powerful enough to use for hunting trips and military uses against foot-mobiles.

just one thing: the barret 50 call is a great sniper and fires 12,7 mill at semi automatic. The M98B fires the .357 magnum round and is bolt action. BIG DIFERENCE.

I have nothing against people who stick with their consoles... but those of you who do should understand that you can NEVER compare the two in terms of quality, difficulty, or any real comparable terms. I know this is old.. but just about everything in this video is wrong.
Firstly... he's playing on console. "End game uber weapons".. the m16 is actually the "best" and its your default US rifle. All scope in times are the same zoom in.. followed by >3.4>holo>rds/kobra/iron sights. Aim assist is not a myth dude.
