  • Fred was always considered the best dancer but I truly believe Gene was just as good as Fred. They both could sing as well!

  • What is the movie please ?

Quel est ce film si vous plait ?

  • THE MASTERS of top dancing....

  • this is so mesmerizing~

  • They just don't make 'em like this anymore! :(

  • There was like the full version of this on YouTube, I can't find it anymore, someone help me! D:

  • It's from ziegfeld Follies. They were GREAT! but have to say: Gene had troubles in order to accomplish in the third sequence. But I think even Baryshnikov or Michael Jackson would do the same. Fred was PERFECT.

  • They sure were and man could they dance.

  • I would change my name to Ginger just to be able to dance

  • this is your real culture.

    been gone for 60 years.

  • please please! tell me what film this is from

  • @forridersofsatan

    Ziegfeld Follies ;-)

  • he is great

  • I'm katia and I loved the video memory of my childhood.

I submitted the video to my son and he did not know.

    Thanks for the memories.

  • if only mgm could reclaim that old magic.

  • We do still have talent like this but there is no longer a market for such talent. We seem to prefer the talentless, illiterate five minute wonders that dominate the multitude of mindless, boring TV channels.

  • Why people go down on magnificence with time? What does the future reserve for us? The best artists were 50 years ago, in 2060 we're going to have hats performing, cause they're going to be good as the future human beings. Maybe there is a down of the crafts and a rise of the artificial technology, maybe our era is the era of heartless and spiritless.

  • Wish we still had talent like this. i;m sure there is talent out there only there is nt enough time to culitivate it and the big guns want turnover and profit more than Sam Goldwyn type pride !"

  • Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire

Ginger Rogers, dance on air great ,bravissimi, magnific

  • 2 great dancer'S

  • I believe in when both were interviewed, each said that their favourite partner were each other

  • Nothing can compare to a number like this today.Nothing.

Thanks Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire for everything and always putting a smile on my face.

  • I would to change my name to Ginger just to dance with Fred.

  • Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly had 2 TOTALLY different dancing techniques, however they always look amazing. This shows their true character together.

  • heyheyheyhyeheyheyheyhyehyeheh!!!! can you post the whole dance ???? words included??? i think that would be something to see!!

  • how hard must this have been!!!!! wow

  • A couple of my 2 favorite male dancers together. awsome. They are great. Legends

  • Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, two of the GREATEST DANCERS OF ALL TIME, in one glorious video, too great

I have Zigfried Follies and i gotta say AMAZING, u have to rent it or something

  • god they are so amazing. i wish they were appreciated more today. Fred looks so skinny! :P

  • The full video was posted on YouTube, but has since been taken down, unfortunately.

  • how did i not know this existed until just now? they are pure brilliance & perfection

  • It,s from the special "that,s entertainment" there are two parts

  • Amazing. They just don't make them like they used to.

  • Two of the best actors/dancers Hollywood'd ever seen. *Sigh*

Such a pity no actor in Hollywood today can dance like that.

  • I would love to see a video of these guys rehearsing...the sequence from 1:14 to the end is unreal

  • Fred Astaire choreographed that sequence (while Gene Kelly choreographed the first two sequences.)

It's amazing how talented he was to come up with a routine like that and how talented Gene Kelly was to perform it as flawlessly as the choreographer.

  • Magic

  • let today put that in their literary pipes and smoke it?? no one, absolutely no one has the talent of these men. Michael Jackson had the talent , and told us he took much from them. Even though I I have been a michael jackson fan... he evidently did not have what they had cause they stayed clean. God rest M. jackson, and the Kelly, and Astaire.

  • Now thats!! entertainmnet! and what a classic video it is indeed!

  • exquisite, honestly.

  • Sadly it's been removed.

  • where is the original full length version from zigfeld? It use to be here, cant find it.

  • thats when two great dancers can make up. dancers better take up notes

  • Is there a complete clip of this? I remember seeing it here once, can't find it now.:(

  • There's one on metacafe. Just search for fred astaire gene kelly the babbitt and the bromide

  • Trivia:

Astaire and Kelly (5'7"or 8") had different builds but weighed the same, Astaire,140 (5'9") would do anything to "knock off five pounds" before filming. On Singing in the Rain, (Gene age 40) Donald O'Conner said, "I weighed 118, Gene was 145." Kelly stated he "arrived in Hollywood twenty pounds overweight and strong as an ox," after his long cross country Honeymoon car trip following the run of Pal Joey. He quickly knocked off 20 pounds to get back into fighting trim 138-140.

  • It's refreshing to watch a video of two masters in their craft without the whole "I like X better than Y" bullshit comments. These two were part of a handful of amazing talent that could sing, dance, and act -- sometimes simultaneously.

This is one of those rare gems where you sit back and simply marvel instead of comparing and contrasting.

  • wheres the full version? with singing and talking at the beginning?

  • I love Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. This is a classic.

  • omg thanks for the upload. two dance geniuses in one i think my head will explode!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GRANDIOSO POR SIEMPRE

  • I wish people were still this awesome.

Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly are magnificent!

  • Godalmighty that reminds me of my youth!
