@soyomuse That, my friend, is Bach's Concerto for 2 Violins and strings in D minor. There is a black and white clip of Tanquil Leclerq and Diana Adams dancing this piece. Pity, the clip isn't very long but they are, nevertheless, superb. You can find the clip in one of the Balanchine DVDs chronicling his life. He was always about the music and this Bach piece is but one example. Long live GB.
Wow have not seen any Balanchine dance since it was on a and e years ago.
Just look at the powerful turns and movements, not the most technical of dancers but still looks great wish there was more of his works for viewing but the Balanchine Trust keeps a tight key on the works and keeps a lid on the art which is ment to be seen not bottled up to rot away.
@shivastotravali Aurelie Dupont doesn't count Stravinsky. She says that the steps are consistently on the beat and therefore easy to learn. She learns the music, instead, and she is magnificent. She made that comment after her DVD performance of Rubies.
@shivastotravali I should have added that Aurelie is an accomplished pianist. She actually wanted to be a concert pianist before ballet. Her parents made the decision for her. So I guess it's easier for her learn the music than count.
@aoc36 I honestly don't know who she is -- I was referring to the corps. So if she's a musician, hopefully she can pass on this wisdom to the corps girls as well. :-)
There's no-body perfect, but there's a perfect will.Every dancer knows their weaknesses, may be u have a great andehors but short neck,or pain in ur back-or not great feet-or just a perfect body but nor musicality and u dance all ruff. You needs heart to give,to connect with the music, being humble to shine.I also saw great bodies doing nothing & bodies with really problems becoming stars,'cause sometimes problems makes u a challenge-follow your soul-ur dreams-then the body follows-u r unstoppable
@jjjustliveurlife you can't be born with the body. You are born with your body. Some people it takes less work and some it takes more. But if it takes more that only means you work harder at it. but you can't be born with a ballerina body. no matter who you are or your body shape, you still have to work extremely hard for it.
i don't think balanchine even left :)

Come on, girls, get it together: COUNT.
Stravinsky isn't always easy to count, but once you know the score it shouldn't be THAT hard.

@AdamBabyBoyGlitters i do see the other view point though, you can be born thin, naturally flexible, and naturally turned out.

all their bodies are so perfect! its not fair how they can be born with the "ballerina body" :(

Not born with...Worked for. Every inch, or lack thereof.

@imacaverat you can be born with a ballerina body... You also have to work for the technique but you can be born with the body.
