the japanese motor company kanto also makes some of the Xb minis. the hyundai excel has the most successful US automotive brand intro by selling 168,882 units in its first model year. this is the criteria for such a record, not over a period of three or 'three or four years'. the auto industry ads are good at creating their own classes and/or criteria- all designed to sell cars at the expense of misleading the potential auto buyers into thinking their products are more popular than they really R
you are so underinformed. toyota commissions the scion designs thru daihatsu- a separate motor maker partially owned by toyota ltd.. they are not JDM cars that were 'brought to the US'- they are designed and built as world cars. daihatsu was in the midst of planning to provide engines/drive trains to another japanese motor company (nissan?) when toyota bought a controlling interest and pulled the plug on that deal. toyota's policy with daihatsu is mostly hands-off when it comes to D & D.
i used to like toyotas (i guess before the supra got dropped, and the celica became tacky and got dropped) i dont really find much appealing about them at all now.
I don't think Toyota is as brilliant as people think they are. They took very small very Japanese cars from their home market, brought them over to the US, and called them Scions. That's it. The 2008 Scion xB was the first car to be designed with the intention of being sold as a Scion, and it was (is) much less successful than the original xB. They thought it was going to be a huge hit. They gave it "everything the customers wanted".
true true. I sell them all day and i have a wonderful scion customer base and these are loyal buyers and customers to be respected and I thank them every day for their support and business. and Toyota didn't intend to make a huge amount of profit margin all they cared was an early Toyota introduction and keeping their loyalty with the brand of Scion, Toyota and Lexus unlike the manufactures who tried to copy us :) "united by individuality"
i think this car is cool and im 20 ...but sadly in my country we dont have scion , witch is kind of bad cuz the way it looks and as much as iv heard about ir like engine and so on it only costs 17 000 $ !!!! thats not much at all I WANT ONE !!!!
@madmatt1 YES i would. i think its its neat car no matter what brand it is. now if the build was total shit then no but it is built well and will last.

i wondered why i found scion so irritating.
so, toyota is boring, and scion is irritating.
i used to like toyotas (i guess before the supra got dropped, and the celica became tacky and got dropped) i dont really find much appealing about them at all now.

i just really wonder if the scion marketing works for toyota. i think they would be better off just to scrap it and market the cars as toyotas.
scion just confuses me.
