  • From what I've heard of Ayreon songs, they're all the best song.

  • Masterpiece! Especially from the middle to end...

  • the voice reminds me John Lennon in some parts

  • Mon passage favori : de 0,00 à 7'50"" !!! ...

  • Wow, this is an awesome song, one of the best by Ayreon!

It took me a while to notice that it alludes to the famous masterpiece by Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn, "The Nigh Watch", more properly called "The Company of Captain Frans Banning Cocq and Lieutenant Willem van Ruytenburgh".

I now use it as a ring tone on my iPhone.

  • @Icarionn well.. the first and last is Y(01011001) As in the truth is in here Hippie 'from into the electric castle"

is telling about his journey using same words like then (on a woing of an amazing flight) . Its difficult to tell order because all albums are connected in more than one point. Its like a fishnet. Everything is connected. Im sure 01011001 is beggining and the end of whole story.

  • @SatanTheSith They are all actually tied to each other. I'm only familiar with 01011001, Universal Migrator 1 and 2, Human Equation and Final Experiment. I can tell you that human equation should go between universal migrator part 1 and 2 because in part one the character is using the Dream Sequencer to live life through others eyes, which you discover at the end of Human Equation that it was all just the main character in the Dream Sequencer. At the end of part 2 you find that the main

  • @codynstuff character dies, so therefore it must be between. 01011001 is kind of telling what went on in the background. It's tie makes itself obvious a few times, given how part of Sixth Extinction is called 2085 which is when the world dies. The song 2084 on Universal Migrator relates to this as well. Also River of Time talks about sending visions back in time to alter the future, where Final Experiment begins with a dialog about how visions were sent back to help the human race.

  • @codynstuff In short they are all tied, and the story is epic.

  • Love this song! Love Ayreon! keep it up.

  • @Icarionn Well, all albums are tied together, with the exception of Actual Fantasy. The Order is a bit complicated, because there are some time-gaps within the albums themselves. But basically you can say that 01 comes first, then final exp. -whichs future parts are set close before the dream sequencer/flight of the migrator. In between is the Human Equation and also somewhere in the middle is the electric castle. Oh, and the 2 part of 01 is also close to the future part in FE. Hope i could help

  • @SatanTheSith I believe you are wrong, all the albums are tied to eachother...But I don't know what the order is, though...

  • All albums are related. Wheter or not directly chronologically it doesn't matter. The all form the big story, from the very beggining with the "Time Telepathy" to the "Sixth Extincion", being that one the last theme, the ending of the world and the final travel of the Dream Secuencer.

  • i am a huge fan of Ayreon.they are olmost like pink floyd in this time era.

I just love this music and the dvd in 5,1. surround.

  • this track got me from drinking.

  • @SatanTheSith They are, and it's The Final Experiment - Into The Electric Castle - The Universal Migrator - The Human Equation - 01011001. Actual Fantasy is the only one that isn't part of the story.

  • @Icarionn The order would be Final Experiment -> Universal Migrator, and that's pretty much it. Electric Castle can happen anywhere since everyone was plucked from time, although it's likely to be after Final Experiment at some point. Some people the Future Man is supposed to be the Colonist as well. Human Equation didn't really happen, although Forever of the Stars likely used it following Universal Migrator. 01011001 makes up the beginning and end of the story, overlapping with the other ones.

  • I don't know why. But this is my favorite song ever.

  • Any truckers out there? This stuff is fucking great for the open road. I havent heard this song in 3.5 years, and I know exactly where I was when last hear. Even a month prior to that, I was obout 250 miles from last hear... There are waypoints of the earth as well as hear points of songs...Weird!

  • @driverofsound It's absolutely incredible how the mind works like that.

I'm no trucker, but sometimes when I drive or walk by a particular area, or perform a particular part in a song I'll always think of the same thing- or remember what I was doing in that area at that time.

It's the same reason why I don't often listen to many of the songs I have the strongest connections to- purely in hopes of not severing or weakening that emotional connection.

  • @driverofsound I'm not a trucker but my dad used to play this album (and bunch of other prog rock/metal stuff) while he was driving a car ( and he still does) Best music for driving!

  • Every album is tied in with the other ones, it's like a book series.

  • @SatanTheSith Dude, this album has the story which is built upon from The Final Experiment. Every album except for Actual Fantasy has something to do with each other and eventually, when you've figured out, it completes a full circle aka story.

  • @Adultguj Actually, if I recall, there is at least one song on Actual Fantasy which is related to the rest of the story. I could be wrong, though...

  • Release sequence was The Final Experiment, Actual Fantasy, Into The Electric Castle, Universal Migrator, Ayreonauts Only, The Human Equation, and 01001101. 01001101 and The Human Equation tie the story lines of the other albums together somewhat, but they're fairly loose threads.

  • @matinther Actually, only 01 and Epilogue: The Memory Remains do any sort of linking between them, THE is only the experiment initiated by the Dream Sequencer.

  • @SatanTheSith instead they are ALL tied.

the albums should me listened to in the order they had been published, reading the texts is then like reading a novel.

  • This is honestly the only Ayreon song I can get into, and it is absolutely supreme to me.

  • How is singing? I think I can hear another person beside Luccasen.

  • All the Ayreon Albums besides "Actual Fantasy" are tied together.

They were all released in this order:

    The final experiment

    Actual Fantasy

    Into the Electric Castle

The Universal Migrator Part I: The Dream Sequencer

The Universal Migrator Part II: Flight Of The Migrator

    The Human Equation

    01011001

    Hope this helped.

  • can someone explain the meaning of this album im not familiar with it

  • The Dream Sequencer - The Short Version:

A war on earth has destroyed mankind. Last livin human is on a colony on mars. He uses The Dream Sequencer device that can project your mind to past. He goes backwards trough history of mankand all the way to the beginning.

  • thanks thats really interesting

  • Comment removed

  • Lets keep it pg shall we... *puts on sunglasses*

  • aw..fine. ;]

  • what are some of their albums?

  • it's not their, it's one man (Arjen Lucassen).
