What difficulty was this? The tail portion never even seemed to show up while you were fighting it, were you on Simple difficulty?

Think so. If I did put it in simple. Then I was probably just rushing to finish off the game since this is near end game.

Ah, I should have noticed the low health it had. I just recently beat the game on Normal for the first time (no gameovers, yay) and this boss very nearly did me in when the tail came out. I read the tail enemy pops up at when it's lost half its health (1/4 in Mania?). I guess the tail doesn't pop out in Simple.

It was insane in Mania. I'm curious about Unknown. Haven't tried it because Mania is just...crazy. Team Destiny and Symphonia sure did something nice in Hearts.

It's sad that western gamers are so accustomed to watered-down, LOLEASYMODO games that we never seem to get the really good, challenging games localized here.

Most likely. Tales of Innocence and Tales of the Tempest which were both for the DS never came to the American side.

It's a DS game, and I bet it won't be released for ps2... Still, if you own one, I'd recommendo playing Tales of Symphonia. This one I think it was released for ps2 and Game Cube.
