I saw the poster for Star wars 1 in 3D outside a movie theater, I rather Lucas start from A new hope and end at Revenge of the sith, I don't care about seeing the prequels on the big screen, I wanna see the origionals on the big screen and I don't wanna wait 4 years for it, come on Lucas....
I just want have another chance to see every one of the movies in theaters. (I did get to see AotC and RotS in theaters, however. It's the original trilogy that I'm the most hyped about.)

Star Wars is and will be one of the best films of c, fiction. I recall a premiere G. Lucas made a few years ago to promote the series with new sound and new images, and also to promote fua the other 3 new franchises and now wants it back to a premiere but in 3D, in my opinion I do not think people pay back fence x a movie that you know how it ends, I think you have to just leave it ..

Screw the prequels! They were grotesque at best, laden with horrific writing, and dialog. Just do the original trilogy in 3-D. However, 3-D conversion may not bode well for, Lucas. It won't fare well against movies that were originally shot in 3-D format like, "Avatar". In hindsight, I don't think it matters to George. He's gonna' keep tinkering with these movies until he can longer profit from them. I guess the $20 billion the SW franchise has made over the last 30 years isn't enough for him.

Sometime ago i told everybody if there was a release of all star wars movies i would go to the movies at least once for each film. But putting the way he did it's terrible to expect anything bad about it since it's in 3D (and i never liked it much)
If anyone wants Star Wars in 3D now, just get Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6 which does 2D to 3D conversions. You can just rip your DVDs and convert them to 3D yourself.
Also, as for your statement of George Lucas being the most willing to screw with his movies, I do believe that James Cameron is OK with that, too. Hence, Titanic 3D and the numerous past and future Avatar special editions. The difference is that James Cameron can actually make these re-releases without pissing off his fans. However, I think Titanic 3D will disappoint a LOT of people (after all, its target audience are not the kind of people I envision as knowing about "real" vs. "fake" 3D).
They were filmed on 35mm film? I'm actually a little surprised. I would have thought after the success of the first, they would have upped it to 70 for the rest. Granted, I've never seen the original trilogy in theaters, and from a standpoint of DVD (or even Blu-Ray) I'm sure 35mm film can provide a more than satisfactory picture quality for conversion. Admittedly, I don't know how many movies were ever filmed on 70mm though a lot got special releases on it. But I assume it wasn't very many.
I for once am really excited to see them in 3D. He said that he barely touched the original saga, and just upped the prequels (let's face it the Phantom Menace couldn't use some upgrades).
Also I'll always have the original and 2004 re-release original saga versions, so if I won't like the 3D I can still go back to those.
Id like to see the originals in 3d. or the recent versions with the additions re-done. like the shot in a new hope when they are on the landspeeder heading into mos eisley. we definitely have the technology nowadays to make that look like it was part of the original. but id still like to see han shoot first....

What's the big problem with Lucas doing the 3D version of the movies? C'mon...He's the creator of the saga, he's just showing us different ways of seeing the same story. I think it is a great idea. Lucas KNOWS star wars, not you, not me.

Why is it in the original trilogy that Obi Wan Kenobi said that Yoda trained him and then you get to the Phantom Menace, and Qui-Gon Jinn comes out of nowhere, thats not a big deal, but still, they should have the knowledge from the future to not add random characters where they are not needed, and i know that Qui-gon was a big part of the story, but they should have found another way to have it make sense with the later part of it.

I am a HUGE Star Wars nerd! I've watched all of the episodes I-VI and The Clone Wars (which is GOOD to me anyway). My feeling is that it won't make as much money as the original releases but I think they'll make a profit either way. Fav episode is ROTS.
Just because Avatar (good movie BTW) was sucessful in 3-D doesn't mean EVERY OTHER FRICKIN MOVIE NEEDS TO BE IN 3-D! Hollywood is such a copycat! *sighs*

Another version of Starwars triology WTF. There's 3 versions - Starwars original, SW re-release 1997 (Sp Ed), then DVD release where again Lucas changed things. With Blu Ray I bet 100% he will change things. And with the release with 3D in cinemas again change things, and when those 3D go to blu ray I bet he'll change things again. I was one of his fans until he went n raped his movies.

I have never seen any Star Wars movie in Theaters, and I highly regret not seeing Episode 3 when it came out (I was 10 at the time, and was afraid of the intensiveness). I am a huge fan, and I REALLY want to see this in theaters, 3D or not, so I am PUMPED for this!!
I;m exicted about Star Wars being released in 3D, I've known about for a long time, but I'm not at all excited about them changing the plot or anything about the movies, except taking out that lame yoda puppet in Phantom Menace with a CGI one, but definitely not in the original trilogy. But I don't like how Episode one won'y release until 2012, but if you want something new then check out the Clone Wars on cartoon network, which is really epic, and they are be coming out with a live action one.
My fav is episode6 and 2 of my friends like episodes 4 & 5, weird huh?

Of the new Star wars, 1 and 2 were HORRIBLE! 3 was good but if they stretched it out longer it would have been better. @amusity I and every star wars fan liked the original series, the prequels were intresting, but weren't that great, but the Clone Wars makes up for that and really developes the characters and how Anakin becomes darth vader in episode III, but I personally hated episode III, I went to the midnight premere and saw it some more in theaters, and i have it, but the kill off all of my favorite jedi, except of obi wan, and they die so pathetically compared to the cool stuff they did in the clone wars

Screw the prequels! They were grotesque at best, laden with horrific writing, and dialog. Just do the original trilogy in 3-D. However, 3-D conversion may not bode well for, Lucas. It won't fare well against movies that were originally shot in 3-D format like, "Avatar". In hindsight, I don't think it matters to George. He's gonna' keep tinkering with these movies until he can longer profit from them. I guess the $20 billion the SW franchise has made over the last 30 years isn't enough for him.

Sometime ago i told everybody if there was a release of all star wars movies i would go to the movies at least once for each film. But putting the way he did it's terrible to expect anything bad about it since it's in 3D (and i never liked it much)

If anyone wants Star Wars in 3D now, just get Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6 which does 2D to 3D conversions. You can just rip your DVDs and convert them to 3D yourself.

Also, as for your statement of George Lucas being the most willing to screw with his movies, I do believe that James Cameron is OK with that, too. Hence, Titanic 3D and the numerous past and future Avatar special editions. The difference is that James Cameron can actually make these re-releases without pissing off his fans. However, I think Titanic 3D will disappoint a LOT of people (after all, its target audience are not the kind of people I envision as knowing about "real" vs. "fake" 3D).

They were filmed on 35mm film? I'm actually a little surprised. I would have thought after the success of the first, they would have upped it to 70 for the rest. Granted, I've never seen the original trilogy in theaters, and from a standpoint of DVD (or even Blu-Ray) I'm sure 35mm film can provide a more than satisfactory picture quality for conversion. Admittedly, I don't know how many movies were ever filmed on 70mm though a lot got special releases on it. But I assume it wasn't very many.

I for once am really excited to see them in 3D. He said that he barely touched the original saga, and just upped the prequels (let's face it the Phantom Menace couldn't use some upgrades).
Also I'll always have the original and 2004 re-release original saga versions, so if I won't like the 3D I can still go back to those.

Star Wars was only good because he didn't have the technology and/or money to f*ck it up in the 1970's with a lot of over the top special effects.
The Empire Strikes Back was Irvin Kershner's baby.
The Indiana Jones movies were more about Speilberg.
Lucas fucked up everything else, and really hasn't come up with anything fresh or new in decades... unless you really enjoyed "Willow" or "Howard he Duck".
LEAVE THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY ALONE!

Just let these films gain fame by themselves rather than shoving down loads more SW merchandise down our throats. Although Starwars is one of my favorite films, this bothers me,
Why is it in the original trilogy that Obi Wan Kenobi said that Yoda trained him and then you get to the Phantom Menace, and Qui-Gon Jinn comes out of nowhere, thats not a big deal, but still, they should have the knowledge from the future to not add random characters where they are not needed, and i know that Qui-gon was a big part of the story, but they should have found another way to have it make sense with the later part of it.

I am a HUGE Star Wars nerd! I've watched all of the episodes I-VI and The Clone Wars (which is GOOD to me anyway). My feeling is that it won't make as much money as the original releases but I think they'll make a profit either way. Fav episode is ROTS.
Just because Avatar (good movie BTW) was sucessful in 3-D doesn't mean EVERY OTHER FRICKIN MOVIE NEEDS TO BE IN 3-D! Hollywood is such a copycat! *sighs*
But in any event, I'm excited and can't wait to see them. STAR WARS FTW!

Another version of Starwars triology WTF. There's 3 versions - Starwars original, SW re-release 1997 (Sp Ed), then DVD release where again Lucas changed things. With Blu Ray I bet 100% he will change things. And with the release with 3D in cinemas again change things, and when those 3D go to blu ray I bet he'll change things again. I have never seen any Star Wars movie in Theaters, and I highly regret not seeing Episode 3 when it came out (I was 10 at the time, and was afraid of the intensiveness). I am a huge fan, and I REALLY want to see this in theaters, 3D or not, so I am PUMPED for this!!

I;m exicted about Star Wars being released in 3D, I've known about for a long time, but I'm not at all excited about them changing the plot or anything about the movies, except taking out that lame yoda puppet in Phantom Menace with a CGI one, but definitely not in the original trilogy. But I don't like how Episode one won'y release until 2012, but if you want something new then check out the Clone Wars on cartoon network, which is really epic, and they are be coming out with a live action one.

Of the new Star wars, 1 and 2 were HORRIBLE! 3 was good but if they stretched it out longer it would have been better. I am sorry but there is no way within the course of 5 minutes would Anaken really go from Jedi to slaughtering children. There needed to be more to 3. I still have the original 3 on vcr, watch them 1-2 times a year. Favorite series of all time next to Back to the Future!

@amusity I and every star wars fan liked the original series, the prequels were intresting, but weren't that great, but the Clone Wars makes up for that and really developes the characters and how Anakin becomes darth vader in episode III, but I personally hated episode III, I went to the midnight premere and saw it some more in theaters, and i have it, but the kill off all of my favorite jedi, except of obi wan, and they die so pathetically compared to the cool stuff they did in the clone wars
