  • good demo man, thanks

  • Great vid, thanks

  • Incredibly helpful, thanks!

  • very good!

  • wow one of the few good strap tutorials out there n demoed by a guy who prob pulls 900bs!!!!

  • man my mom keeps telling me that my hand is going to fall off ......

  • @satinderjit4 that's just a mother being nervous. No need to worry if done correctly

  • Any straps interfere with forearm/smaller muscle group growth while adding more poundage and growth to bigger muscles involved in the strap pull exercises themselves, such as deadlifts and chins....... Straps are basically to work on overall size at the sacrifice of some minor function gain which must be trained somehow else.

All training implements are a double edged sword, pretty much anyway -- that's the complication you pay your personal trainer to arrange and anticipate.

  • @labellablue I don't remember, Ive ahd them for years. Check out Elitefts.com

  • this is by far the most useful straps video. thank you very much. I did watch the beginning bit a few times to get familiar with the strap positioning. thankyou

  • @boarder0mark I'm glad you found it helpful!

  • @boarder0mark You are so correct. i saw some of the others and they suck. this video was very good!

  • спасибо!))) круто и понятно!

  • good stuff

  • @aidzz69 thanks!

  • just used my newly bought straps today, and it was def a bit more helpful than just bare hands, i was able to lift/pull more than my normal usual grip can... why didn't i get these earlier on, i dunno probably b/c im too cheap

  • thanks a lot man

  • good video man thanks

  • Nice, clear info. Thanks!

  • Very simple and helpful tutorial, cheers!

  • This was great, thanks a ton.

  • thanks mate

  • Great Job!

  • If i were to use straps, would it make my forearms grow slower? Because i read that using straps dont use as much forearm strength. So im just worried that it'll interfere with my forearm growth

  • @xJrockk you wont get as much gain in forearms but at the end of the day you will be able to lift more in deads and shrugs for example. maybe train forearms seperately to balance it out

  • great vid, I'm knew to straps.

  • ive just realised ive bought some cheap ass straps :)

  • Great tutorial, thanks!

  • Great job

  • Very helpful thank you !

  • can somebody help me right here.. umm can i use my straps doind this kind of exercises? or when i have to use my straps in what kind of execises?

thanks alot. god bless you all.

  • Hi, thanks for the video. I just bought the straps, and did not know what the hell to do with them.

    Keep the good videos coming!!

    Thanks

  • who the hell disliked this, simple and to the point...good man

  • @ejb20782 Probably some jealous loser, I would guess

  • Best How to, worked first time i tried thanks mate, back to deadlifting ;)

  • exactly what i was looking for, thumbs up

  • Thank you very much for taking the time and for sharing this. It really help me to figure the strap thing...

  • straps go opposite way rofl

  • Thank you sir!!!

  • hey man i have a question.. my straps are not loops like yours... they are just one circle with a little clip to pass the belt underneath and just belcro it... the strap or the thing i wrap around the bar has no angle. that means, that when i want to wrap it, i have a hard time because it goes on top of the loop and makes the bar alot thicker. you would make my life alot easier if you respond man. Thanks and good luck on your weightlifitng!

  • Finally, a lifting strap video where he actually explains it c learly and you can SEE what he is doing with the straps!

Best vid on how to use straps on youtube, TY!

  • Great tutorial. So few people know how to properly use them and swear they don't work because they aren't using it right.

  • Actually you should have the end pointing away from the thumb ... so you have like two thumbs

  • good video now I'll look like a pro with straps instead of a noob :)

  • n1 vid, it helped me a lot :)

  • Excellent video. I'm at the point where my lifts (stiff legged deadlifts, dumbell shrugs, deadlifts(pulling exercises)) outweigh my grip so thanks alot for this.

  • You probably won't need those yourself. Not with those huge forearms.

  • Excellent video. First time I bought wrists straps for deadlift, I sat on the floor for half an hour trying to figure what the hell I was supposed to do with 'em. Then it felt like being a contortionist trying to get both hands on tight at the same time. lol. Anyway, thanks for the video, it really helped.

  • very helpful

  • Thanks man. Just bought a pair of straps and started to get myself all tangled up in them. This really helped 5 stars

  • Excellent instructions, clear and concise. Thanks for making this great video.

  • Thanks for this, it really was helpful. At least now I focus my time in the gym on using them and not trying to work out how to use them. Cheers

  • Thanks for the video, I'm going to get straps to help my deadlift because it really tears my hands up, and I had no idea how to use them. Thanks man!

  • thanks a lot for the info, I was confused as to how to use the straps until watching this video. Great job

  • Im glad several of you have found this helpful!

  • @keck47 Can you use straps for dumbells?

  • @keck47 best tutorial on youtube bro! thanks :)

  • @keck47 thanks for the help. very clear demo.

  • Good explaining, Thank you!

  • Thank you for explaining.

  • excellent demonstration on how to properly use straps. Thank you for posting.

  • Great video. Thanks. I've got a bad wrist and it hurts during pullups. Would straps help? Or are they more for freeweights?

  • Basically any exercise where you are gripping a bar you can use wrist straps to improve your grip and keep the stress off of your wrists.

  • man XX you should really moderate these comments

  • glad u put this up as i was considering this for my deadlifts thanks!!!

  • great tutorial buddy! thanks for it!

  • what exercis requires straps?

and what exactly do the straps do?

  • You use them in any free weight pulling motion in which your grip may give out before the main muscle. I use them only on my last set of deadlifts because by then my grip strength is to weak to do the set but with the grips I'm able to get that last set in.

  • straps help you lift the weight if your grip is weak. It's very useful for heavy lifts like deadlift, shrugs, or rows. Don't use it for presses/clean&jerk/powerclean though, only for lifts. I also use em for dumbells when i do heavy shrugs (120+ lbs dumbells) my grip is weak as hell :P If you're going light weight, dont use straps as you have to work on your grip

  • Very helpfull, thought I had two right hand straps :$

  • very helpful thanks alot

  • thanks for the vid man!! just curious, how much can you deadlift, bench etc

  • Thanks for the tutorial.

I aim to do 1x3, 1x8 with my pulling.

    Rack deads 275x5, 215x15

    1 week later with straps...

    Rack deads 290x15, 335x1

Lol, guess my grip was really limiting me!

  • Is it normal that the brandname is upside down on 1 arm or am i just folding it wrong?

On my right arm "harbinger" is readable for me, on my left arm the name is upside down (so that other people looking directly at it while i'm wearing it can read it normally)

  • what kind of diet are you on?

  • thank you so much!!! i just got my wrist straps and tried deadlifting with them and my grip was even worse than without the straps and it was because i was going over the bar with the straps instead of under! i probly wouldnt have figured it out on my own lol thanks so much

  • very helpful, i just got my straps and i tried them out but one was really hurting my wrist when i lifted, now i know why..THANK YOU

  • Good job, Michael

  • People always say to use the over-underhand grip on deadlifts so you don't twist, but that just seems like you'd be more likely to twist doing it that way. Also they say it helps grip the bar better, but that wouldn't even matter if you're using straps.

  • are you a bodybuilder or powerlifter? or what..

  • i am looking to do a PL comp in 09 and have done 3 BB shows in the past. I prefer powerlifting over BB though lol

  • @keck47 really why?? i assume the diet constraints are not as demanding in pl??

  • @clikclik1 the dieting part doesnt bother me too much. In powerlifting, he who lfts the most wins. In BB, its up to the opinion of the judges. Plus lifting is more fun for me.

  • Thx for the video, very informative
