Just very briefly if i may... these "strap muscles" are innervated by the Cervical Plexus. Ones you should know are the following: thyrohyoid, sternothyroid, omohyoid, sternohyoid.
Cricothyroid muscle is innervated by the "external branch of superior laryngeal nerve of vagus".
There is a difference between "cricothyroid membrane" and "median cricothyroied ligament". Former connects cricoid cartilage to vocal ligament; latter connects cricoid to thyroid cartilage.
