Ezio is wearing this obviously because it's what almost everyone wore during the Italian rennasaince. Because he has help from Leonardo Da Vinci, there won't be any need to cut off any fingers. Da Vinci made his hidden blades ajustable so Ezio could use them. Altair, however, was on his own. They didn't have the 'technology' and enlightened thinkers back in 1191 unlike 1476.

Its cause in the time of Altair, it was tradition that all Assassins get their ring finger cut off for two reasons, one its viewed as a sacrifice and is also space for the hidden blade, and two so the Assassin wont marry, therefore the Assassin dedicates his life to the art of the kill.

Better fight scenes. Imagine being cornered by two guards. You shove your blade in one's throat, then jab the other in the heart.

you know when ALTAIR does a leap of faith you hear an eagle, coz altair means eagle u also see an eagles shadow. Hope something like that is in assassins creed 2. Yes u can swim! luv the flying machine by da vinci.

You didn't require a finger missing in the first place. I assume by now they;ve realised that the Assassin's do and still use those blades, and have a finger missing. This would avoid suspicion that he has one, lettalone two

Altair was cool b/c of his mysteriousness.

But I really want to see Ezio, rumour has it that he can fly when he gets Da Vinci's wings. Also the use of firearms may be possible since this is the renaissance.

I just hope that this Assassin's Creed beats the first one by far. The first was too repetitive and the dual storyline was messed up. I mean come on animus, when I first picked it up I thought it was straight up Altair. But the game was good. Besides machines replace the appendage loss.
