  • Wow it hardly looks like that anymore. It changed so much.

  • i had one of those centipedes at 1:06 in my shoe about 6 years ago. I haven't been able to put on shoes without checking to make sure there's nothing in them since T^T

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm homesick for Okinawa, and enjoyed watching. Beautiful views, and helped remember how humid and hot it is.

  • I was stationed on Okinawa in 1971 in Sukiran. Koza was the best place to have fun back then. I avoided the how shall i say it.....well you know what I mean.

  • @jimbronxny Never been to Koza. Where is it?

  • Hi there, how long did it take to travel by bus from Naha city to Hentona? May I know which hotel did you stay in Hentona? How much was it per night?

  • my favorite part of the Island. I used to go Yona Bay at night and make driftwood sculptures with my lady friend.

  • Love your videos! I'll be going back to Okinawa later this year. Maybe I can then post a video response. Keep up the good work!

  • "hotel for less then 60 $"!...

  • I wouldn't have minded if you showed talking to more people, but I still enjoy the scenery and your passion for the island.

  • I would have liked to show more people and interactions with people, but since I was filming it myself and there was a bit of a language barrrier it was difficult.

  • These are great! I'm watching them all in order. I feel so inspired watching your solitary journey.

  • I just stumbled upon your videos and this is my third one watching. Of course, I am not going in order but I would love to see more of the people of Okinawa and the way they live - day to day. I would also love to see the shop owners and how they run their business and what a visitor might expect to see on a regular day. It's been over 25 years since I've been to Okinawa and I miss it so very much. Thank you.

  • Thanks for watching. You might like Episode number 6 - Family in Nakijin and also the one about Heiwa-Dori which is about shops downtown.

  • Thank you for all of your videos

  • I spent 6 years total out of a 21 year carreer on Okinawa. I REALLY miss it there. Great surfing up north...As good as Hawaii. Fun climbing. Incredible fishing. I lived in Nago and Aha Village. Have fun there!

  • Thanks for posting these! This looks like a great place to visit.

  • I LOVE Okinawa. I've been there twice- stayed for a total of 3 months. My fiance was stationed there for 2 years and we loved exploring the island together. Also took a trip up to mainland Japan during cherry blossom season. It was beautiful. I'd give anything to visit Okinawa just one more time!

  • vid too short. i want to see more of okinawa.

    thanks.

  • I have 25 other videos about Okinawa. If you watch all of them it is 70 minutes of footage.

  • I've been there b4.

  • Intresting video

  • I did watch the videos. The pieces are put together very nicely, but it felt like a fy over. I guess because I grew up there. No sweat, good show.

  • It would be hard to compete with the intimate knowledge that you have of the island. Thanks for watching. I would love to go back and make more videos.

  • you need to tour the war memorials and beaches, you are missing Okinawa.

  • you need to watch the rest of my videos.

  • 60 bucks for 1 night per 1 person?

  • That's correct. There was an even cheaper hotel, but I thought this one seemed slightly nicer. Hentona is probably a little cheaper than the rest of the island, but I found a place for $90 on Kokusai-dori.

  • Okinawa ,free from Jap

  • This video is great and informative.

  • Stationed at Camp Hansen and MCAS Futenma, back in the late 80s and early 90s. and then at Camp Schwab in 2003. I liked your travels reminds me of a place where you can still go and not worry about crime or fast pace. DOC 1/25

  • Was priviliged to live on Okinawa for a short time in the 80's (USAF). Very pretty place.

  • I am thinking about visting Okinawa one day i have a nephew that stays out there. Can u tell me how long the flight will be from Chicago and the cost. I am thinking about month stay its to far for me to travel jus for a week so a month when i go.

  • try calling a travel agency, wtf is this?

  • I think it's about a 12 hour flight, but the cost will vary greatly depending on how flexible you are, how many layovers you have and the time of year. $1500-$2500 per ticket.

  • Isn't it time the 'US loving' US people left Okinawa and left it for the locals? We want US out I said we want US out!!!!! Did you know that the former US colonists are now the largest colonists in the whole world!!!!!!

  • who cares what you think... I wish we would leave the damn place too. That way your economy would go tits up! How about when we do leave we destroy all the infrastructure that we've built there and destroy the airfields there at Kadena and Futenma???

  • ever listen to the song by Talking Heads - '(nothing but) flowers?

  • There are Okinawans in the US.

Should they be forced to leave the US?

  • I lived in Okinawa for four years and loved every hour of it...hope to return someday...thanks for the production and I have subscribed...look forward to more.

  • Thanks for subscribing. I had a blast there too. I can't wait to go back. Probably heading back in 2009.

  • oops accidentally maked a minus one on your remark. It was meant for the USA disliking person which is not you. I apologize.

  • Thank you so much for filming this documentary. My Mother comes from a village near here. She has shared so many interesting stories thoughout my lifetime. To be able to place her stories to your footage has been truly such a blessing for me. Thank You!!

  • THanks for the nice feedback. You should subscribe to my videos because I have about 15 more videos about Okinawa to release.

  • Thank you so much for filming this documentary. My Mother comes from a village not too far from here. I've heard many interesting stories over my lifetime. To be able to place her stories and your footage has been such a blessing to me. Thank You!!
