  • Personally I think The Birthday Party's "Mutiny" and "Bad Seed" EPs are amazing and very romantic in a much more deranged way ("Jennifer's Veil" for one), but I always found their earlier works a bit too vulgar and Nick Cave's solo stuff certainly bores me to death. It's a shame really because TBP were so great at one stage and Cave's book "And the Ass Saw the Angel" while again being surreally depraved (a good thing, obviously) definitely comes from a romantic heart. AATT are much more elegant.

  • Major shit No other band has ever created songs even close to being as rich and evocative and deeply romantic as all these AATT's masterpieces from their first 3 LPs..

  • music for "who know" only i think...

    5 stars

  • preraphaelites... decadent... perfect... i love them

this is pure emotion, not only music

  • ...Sometimes when she lifts her eyes

The room has filled with flowing sheets of silk..

  • ...There's maps in her wrists and arms

And the morphine surges terror, bread and bliss.

  • I love how they always remind me of Nick Cave, both are amazing

  • Nick Cave is very uninteresting and a poseur for me ...AATT is real romantic music...

  • @secondhanddaylight

100% agreed. Cave is for people who haven't heard AATT.

  • and the morphine surges terror bread and bliss

  • So mysterious and dark... great song! Makes me dream =)
