  • Truly, this is the most beautiful rendition of Clair de Lune I have ever had the honour and pleasure of hearing. Thank you for uploading.

  • So fantastic play!!!

  • Beautiful rendition of the classic. Very stirring.

  • saw him yesterday in Montreal-he's fantastic

  • Thumbs up if Twilight -didn't- get you here.

  • It reminds me of utopia, the way he plays. He really nailed the atmosphere with the phrasing and dynamics. This version should be in a movie.

  • One person needs to get their ears checked.

  • @mreock Now you know why they lost the war :) Arrogance

  • nagyon szep es kellemes hallgatni

    magas szinvonalu muzsikus

  • Great performance, yet I would still opt for the Gieseking recording from the 50ies. Just listen to the arpeggio bars. Pity his recordings are so old.

  • @MusikerBerlin09 Doubtless in your expert opinion if should have a Disco beat ? Halfwit, you have no idea what you asre talking about,

  • Leif Ove Andsnes dad is my conductor and I play the cornet in Torvastad schoolband. I'm so proud of his family! (sorry for my bad english)

  • @Majamiaa beste pianist er norsk:-) you should listen to leif ove andsnes play greig! amazing!

  • Great pianist! Great video!

  • The most beautiful music ever written.

  • There is a reason no one has disliked this video. :)

  • You are one of the greatest pianists ever. You play so beautiful and empathetic. You are my role model. I can listen to your musik for hours, days and month...

Amazing musicality and interpretation of music. Thank you, Leif Ove Andsnes..

  • thats realy the best version on youtube

  • Wonderful

  • Check out Alex Weissenberg's recording of Clair De Lune on YT, the best in my opinion.

  • Version exceptionnelle qui prouve (une fois de plus) que Andsnes est doté d'un des plus extraordinaires talents de sa génération.

  • So much of how a performance is perceived has to do with the sound quality of the recording also. This has some nice reverberation in it. I've heard his youtube version of Grieg's concerto in A minor, but, the recording seemed a bit on the loud side...like it was pushing the meters. It was probably much better live. He reminds me a little of Evgeny Kissin the way he holds his hands. I learn a little from all of them.

  • Leif Ove does have a girlfriend =) Norwegian media isn't that eager enough to get to know him personally, and I think he's lucky to have his personal life private.

Leif Ove is an amazing artist, and I'm proud to be from the same place as him!

  • @Snaalen90 I saw his girlfriend in Hong Kong after the concert......though he's like so much more attractive than her girlfriend...LOL

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • " has anyone heard if MrAsungot is gay? I've been reading his youtube profile and he has nothing about his personal life and he is very old! Can't you people see it?! "

    How do you like that?...

  • eh... yes

  • I support your point man, mr asungot ist one of the creppiest comments I have ever read...

  • Dear mister! You shouldnt be so concerned about other peoples personal life. I can tell you I know Andsens girlfriend personally, and she is very much a woman yes. Her name is Ragnhild, and plays french horn!

  • Maybe Ragnhild is a transsexual....... who used to be a man..........

  • BTW Mrasungot. You are very funny! I read your profile there, and the description of your ex was just out of this world. WORD!

  • Absolutely splendid! Virtually perfect!!! I tremendously enjoyed it and shall enjoy it again. Thank you for sharing this version! (-=

  • very good! i saw him play a beethoven concerto!

  • so beautiful.

  • Very impressive and emotional performance, but still a bit too rigid tempo for my taste, specially the last half of the intro. It would be great to hear him taking the "Andante très expressif" at the top of the sheet music a bit further.

Regardless, he is an incredibly gifted and talented musician, which is specially evident in some of his Grieg performances.

  • simply amazing <3

  • I went to his recital and the last piece he play is the Horowitz's Transcription of Mursorgsky's Picture at Exhibition ,really Fantastic ,He's amazingly guy

  • Il saisit bien l'esprit de Debussy! Bravo!

  • Best version on youtube

  • This is the most exquisite rendition of Mr. Debussy's classic that I've ever heard on Youtube--or, for that matter, anywhere else. Thank you for posting, emiclassics.

  • Played beautifully!

Dear Claude would have loved this performance...

  • Absolutely gorgeous ♥

  • I have to honestly say this is the first recording of Clair de Lune I've actually liked. His playing makes it an emotional song, not just a cliche.

  • So Beautifully played here, so many posted utube attempts are totaly lacking in emotion, which is what this peace is ALL about. It is not about technical abillty,it is about Emotion, so deep and clever as Dubussey was, Simon T
