On the one hand, the referee perhaps could have terminated the game and declared a double forfeit before things got too far out of hand.

But had that happened, fans would have fought in the stands, and the violence might have spread into the streets and become full-scale rioting across all of Quebec province.

If ever there was a player who deserved to lose and eye it was that dickhead! Never forget the time he butt-ended Rick Middleton who had to be one of the classiest players(not to mention a great scorer) in the game!

What a great rivalry this was, the battle of Quebec was alway's intense & fun to watch. I hope the league, Mr. Bettman in particuilar, realizes eventually that placing franchises back in Quebec City,Winnipeg,& Hamilton is'nt only fair but would make sound business sense. Why have club' losing money in Nashvile,Florida, and Pheonix when the aforementioned Canadian market's would support theses franchises emotionally and financially. The league need's John Davidson or Wayne Gretzky as commissioner
