Don't discount females singing this song! I sing it. It's been one of my favorites for most of my life. I was raised in MS and my grandmother kept the house full of gospel music...much of it from the Jackson Southernaires...sitting here crying listening to it now...ahh the memories!
WOW!! THIS SONG BRINGS BACK SOOOO MANY MEMORIES!! I GREW UP ON THESE SONGS!! THANKS FOR POSTIN..AND THANKS TO MY DADDY FOR INTRODUCING ME TO ALL THE QUARTET GREATS!!
Purple, It seems that James Taylor did a version of this music called "So good to be loved by you" which was a pop hit in the seventies. Look how this great music has even influenced the main stream music.
This lineup of the Jackson Southernaires was invincible. There was not a better singing group in quartet that came remorely close to them. All their frontmen were strong and their background vocals were as smooth as silk, and not to mention the band killed everytime they strapped up. Thiis is the Southernaires at their Zenith!!!!!!!
I didn't know him personaly, but I'm sure he was a great guy. I will also miss him and the songs he wrote was so inspirational.Yes! there is no other!
Does anyone happen to have the song "Lord Remember Me" by the Jackson Southernaires? I haven't seen it out here and I haven't heard it in a long time. Thanks in advance for posting if you do! :)
OMG, The first time I heard this song, it was by The Truthettes and Frank Williams did some ad libs at the end of their version. I had no idea these guys did it originally. This is cool.
this is a very good song is my be old but is a song when you are going through something or you do not have faith and you m=need it tell the lord to hole your hand so you can get through what ever the problem is BY:SIMONE AKA MOKAT AKA MONMON AKA MIMI
If memory is correct, Frank wrote this one, as he was Malaco's premier song writer and producer. But let me check it just to make sure. I do remember he discovered the truthettes and gave them a chance and the rest is history. lol.
Yes everybody's quartet group ahve sung this one here especailly the female groups. This was the song back in the day thanks for this!Great post PS29!5stars
