When I saw him at the Wang in Boston the entire theater was on their feet; there was no way the security could have gotten us to sit down even if they tried (which they didn't). I even saw (or smelled, rather) someone light up a joint at one point.

i saw the great man in birmingham england, i started dancing at the second song, it was i zimbra and some dickhead behind me told me to sit down, the cheek, i told him no, david byrnes a hero of mine and ive bin waitin my whole life to see him, im 26, and im dancing my arse off. security moved me to the front of the stage so i had the last laugh and i was right up front dancing the night away. unbelievable why come see david byrne with that attitude.

i saw him twice in massachusetts in winter... The Wang Theatre Halloween, the ushers kept asking everyone to sit down & Calvin theatre in Northhampton mass, same thing.

Both times it was for the beneift of the people "behind me"

Horrible policy... "now everyone sit pretty & dont fidget to the energetic music being played"
