I think miss executing ppl is terrible, but I agree that capital punishment should be kept, as it mostly protect the majority ppl. If you ever been to China then you should know how death penalty has helped keeping ppl safe.
What China need is better law system and improve justice, but not to remove capital punishment.

I think there are pros and cons for China's harsh law system.
Pros: real criminals can be punished seriously and easily. No tricks can be played by smart lawyers.
Cons: some innocient people are wrongly and unfairly sent to jail, as they are sentenced to be guilty easily.

The current title "China Human Rights Report" will give others a wrong idea that China is critized for human rights abuse simply because death penalty is allowed in China.
Death penalty is allowed in many non-communism country as well, such as USA and India.

No need to be so extreme on the view, either bashing china around or try to cover up her shame. The thing is with china's econimic booming, a new china's emerging and could possibly outdo many european nations in the future, but yet, there are problems need to be solved as well, such as human rights and stuffs, it's hard to find a balance point between economic stablity and democracy in china. And further more, there's no absolute unbiased journalism.

This is ridiculous because, even after the population growth, the overall population in Tibet in 2000 is 2.4 million.

First off all: BBC is a British Channel - THAT MEANS IT IS LOCATED IN EUROPE!! and by association cannot be anything close to resembeling anything with the US. So to all these people here (maybe Chinese Internet patriots?), who just try to cover up criticism with blind Americabashing: This time it won't work. And secondly - China has a damn poor human rights record and its a shame that the Olympic Games were even awarded to that country.
