Here's a silly but true story. In the late 40's GBS used to take his summer holidays in Sidmouth (Devon, England) where I was born. My Dad was taking me out for a walk in the pram when he encountered the great man strolling on the promenade. He looked into the pram at me and said 'that's a fine little fellow'. It's a bit tongue in cheek, but I can honestly say I actually met him !!
Bomberguy, this is an unusually good one. Particularly because of all the video and audio of George Bernard Shaw. Yes stuartthegrant tounge in cheek out the wazoo. Shaw is one of the kind who can speak to the most serious of human challenges (like governance) have you going one way, flip the perspective pancake to show a better idea and leave you laughing...
"this is a fake" "...I'm sure your glad to see me, and I'm extremely sorry that I can't see you."...

While at Oshkosh in'90 I saw several of the featured planes, and flew in a '31 Stinson Tri-Motor. You, sir, are a treasure.

Wasn't the SM-6000 a design Stinson bought from another outfit? This particular bird appears to belong to the San Francisco "Herald-Examiner,"
(or is that just a 'billboard?'Where do you suppose GBS was going? What field are they leaving? Great stuff. My hat's off to you, as ever!
