He put spacers on both sides and a 2" longer trail gear yoke in the rear as well as a spacer on the transfer case side of his front shaft to clear the cross-member. no issues with the shafts pulling apart but the rear angle isn't quite right...there are some vibes at times. he plans on getting stronger shafts, of course...but will probably run these till they break.
I think it will be...I know that he has the same xfer case with 4.56 gears and 33s - it seems to be just slightly over geared. Keep in mind that xfer case will give you a 1.12:1 high range...making your 5.38 equivelant to 6.025 and his 4.56 is equivalent to 5.11. In high range, of course (whether it be 2wd or 4wd). Hope this helps...
If he had stock xfercase gears then 4.16 gears should be just about right for 31s IIRC...
If you have xfercase gears then it may lower your high range as well as your low range giving you the desired 4.16 final ratio for the 31s. I know the kit he has on his (rocky-road but unsure of the actual manufacturer now) sets the high range 12% lower which is just right for 31s.
All depends on what tire size you want to run and if you're going to change xfer case gears. If you change xfer case gears they usually lower the high range along with it so you may not need as steep r&p gears in your 3rd members.
yea it does but only by 12% which really isn't much at all and his is an 87 which had the higher 5th too...a
also...for others, i accidentally removed my original reply (woops)
basically it said:
really well, slightly over-geared but it's really close to factory and the 4.16 xfer case gears are only for low range. i had forgotten to add that high is lower by 12% which i would consider 'nominal'.
did he need custom drive lines for this when it was lifted?

@evulution1337 so if he had the 4.16 gears and 31s, you think that would be better??
