arguably the best female singer/ song writer of the 20th century....been listening to her magic since the 60's and she never gets old only to be rediscovered each and every listen...love love love. there aren't words to describe her indelible impact on so many lives.
Another striking song from Laura Nyro. I've just found her in the last few months. I missed her somehow back then. My loss. Thanks Laura. You truly added to the richness of the human race.
I just turned 50 and her songs have been with me growing up but only now am I learning about Laura being behind all of those wonerful hit songs, and her own versions of them thanks to postings on youtube I'm rediscovering them with Fresh ears..
Laura was so awesome. She was way ahead of her time. Her songs are sensational. I remember listening to all of her wonderful masterpieces. Miss her so much! Thanks Laura
50 years from now this song will still resonate with people and that is what makes Laura Nyro's music so beautiful--because it is not tied to any particular time or place. LITESKINHONEY thanks again for posting the lyrics so we can follow along with her performance.
Laura Nyro was sooooo brilliant. Jackson Browne wrote a song about her. "That Girl Could Sing." That girl could write too. Three of her songs, And When I Die, Eli's Coming and Wedding Bell Blues were all in the top 10 at the same time for a few weeks in the fall of 1969. Very underrated artist. Thanks for posting this, LITESKINHONEY.

Todd Rundgren also mentions her on his first album with "Baby Let's Swing". "Laura, saw your act in LA. . . ."
