  • Check out "Quadratic Equation Solver!" on Android Market. It gives answers in exact form and is a great way to check your work. Here's the link (or search 'scapelitte' on Android, then select 'Quadratic Equation Solver!'):

  • lol u got A LOT of haters

  • Why are people so cruel... If you would read uploader comments you can see there used to be sound. And some people need to be able to see someone else do things (even if its just writing it out) for them to understand.

  • it would be nice for you to tag links to the different methods please since u already have made the vids... that would be way more helpful than having to look for them thanks :D

  • he is student i think and the the teacher is teaching him on board ths why there is no sound........,,,,

  • u should start talkin.

thats the most stupidest video ive ever seen.

  • @krashiyer Sorry Krashiyer, but the sound has gone. When I first put it up there was sound and now there is not. I will try to get it back or redo this. I must admit, without sound, it looks pretty stupid!!

  • @ashton485 hmm...I know that 3 is a factor of that huge string of 3's...

  • dude that what you did there was more than what my math teacher did for 1 term.

  • The 5 ways to LOVE a quadratic equation.:)

  • Might as well just took a picture for that __-

  • Unlike some people, I get that this is an introduction, and it actually helped!

  • No 2: Factorising

  • No:Factorising

  • Factoring is the best way! Nothing beats an equation that factors nicely.

  • There is a new method, called Diagonal Sum Method, that quickly and directly gives 2 roots in the form of 2 fractions, without having to factor the equation, whenever it is factorable. See book titled:" New methods for solving quadratic equations and inequalities". It is fast and convenient and is applicable whenever the equation can be factored. If this method fails, then the equation is not factorable, and consequently, the quadratic formula must be used.

  • Nice little clip but, mind me saying you say in your description "the 5 methods", you should actually say 5 methods without the "the". That implies there are only 5 ways when there exist many more algorithms and procedures to solving quadratic equations (or heck any polynomial degree n).

  • Thanks for the videos. None of my algebra teachers have ever broken things down so simply.

  • Thanks for the videos. None of my algebra teachers have ever broken things down so simply.

  • You should put annotation links on each one so we can click on it and go to that problem.

  • thanks i just got a 100 on my test i did not know those things but yha

  • This is helpful, I new to algelbra and this helps it more understanding, thanks.

  • wow that was pure shit... he did nothing, my lil brother couldve googled that up, just write quadratic solutions and u get them

  • @knighthawk767 No, you just don't understand that this is an introduction. It introduces the five methods, and explains why one method is more useful at a different time than another. The rest of the videos in the series explain, in more detail, each method. Be patient, grasshopper.

  • @minkusbc what happened to the sound

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for the nice summary. Appreciate it.

  • Pause at 2:26 to see all 5 methods.

  • How the fuck do you graph it ?

  • @LilBlacJac510 : If you only have a pencil and a sheet of paper, this method isn't really helpful. But if you use your computer, Maple can graph any equations.

  • Summary:

    1- Square root method

    2-Factorising

    3- Quadratic formula

    4- Graph equation

    5- Completing the square

    add

    &fmt=18

    for sound

  • did you really need to take that long to write 5 things!

  • This is a 2 minute (and 36 second) introduction to the 9 videos that follow. It is important to understand that there are different methods, and that some methods are better than others depending on the equation.

  • @minkusbc : Nice post!

Completing the square is the useless method I've learned to solve a quadratic equation.

The quadratic formula is the best one of all the methods, and easy to remember !

  • @minkusbc That didn't answer his question...

  • @minkusbc still, you did not have to write it down and film it at the same time, you could just write it down and take a picture of it! a tips for next time ;)

  • If you want sound, type this at the end of the web address;

    &fmt=18

    It only plays properly in a 480 x 360 resolution :)

  • needs sound!

  • to get sound play vid in HQ

  • If you want to get sound, add the code &fmt=18 to the end of your video and sound will play properly.

  • txh

  • @OhGodMyOpinion dude youre smarter than my math teacher.

  • No, it is an introduction to my videos on quadratic equations. It did have sound at one time, but the sound is now gone, and I have to find out how to get it back.

  • Add &fmt=18 to the end of the link...and you get sound

  • is it just me or is there no sound?

  • does anyone know how to find k in the h=-b/ fraction bar 2a anyone know please help me

  • are you talking about the quadratic formula?

    x = -b+or-the square root of bsquared -- 4ac

    all over 2a?

  • Ho!!! They are all question on my Math test!! you know... "Enumerate the 5 ways to solve quadratics equation" thingie??? Thanks a lot there!

  • I'm not sure what you mean by this comment. The video is an "introduction" to the series of videos I have on solving quadratic equations. It's sort of a check off list. Do you know each of the five and when to use which one? If not, then go to the other videos I have made about quadratics and watch a separate video on each one.

  • you just mentioned them :(*

  • Yes, and then I have a separate video on each one.

  • took you 2 1/2 minutes to right those?

  • i only know 3 of those........

  • I never heard of "completing the square" in my life :| I'm 16 now, and all the other methods sound familiar.

  • No, I believe that's someone who posts in all caps...

  • who swears on a maths video ?

  • LOL yoyo must be a nerd

  • No worries mate! It took me less than one maths lesson to get used to the concept -it's just repetition to make sure you don't forget it. I reckon it's easier than factorising (or factoring? Is that the American term?). If you wanted I could post a message explaining it, but just ask your maths teacher or even this guy (he seems to know his stuff). It's picked up easily enough.

  • thank you very much.

  • Great video 10/5 stars!

  • thanks, my homework wouyld be nothin without you

  • so glad i came to these videos. i have a test soon and these are a good review. your a life saver. * ten thumbs up*

  • Thank you.

  • Wow this came up first in the search engine... it just happened to be the video that I needed...

  • Thanks =D I've been watching your videos everything help! Your the Best!=D
