haha yeah. the application key is for camera. I saw this video and tried for like 10 minutes to set the button my droid to "messaging" but when you look close there is a small camara icon next to the button, at least for the original droid, idk if they changed it

I must say that I'm dissapointed. I could see people that would love this. People who want a blackberry but with the selection of the Android Market as opposed to App World from Blackberry. My issue is that compared to the droid 2, there really isn't a large improvment aside from the world phone feature. Plus starting at 299.99? It's not worth it to me. There's no increase in processor even. I'm honestly not seeing a large benifit to a typical retail consumer.

@SyphonFilterr I have a blackberry without keys or a touchpad. Yet, this one attracts me because of the keys. I can live w/o the pad, but it would certainly be a nice touch. Using the touch-screen requires 2 hands on a phone this big, mostly because the screen is on the top half of the phone, most people will use 2 hands when touching the screen... not so with a touch-pad, only 1 hand needed, and because of the physical location on the phone, it makes it easier to hold with 1 hand.

However, I have a pay-as-you-go blackberry 8520 (incidentally the most popular blackberry on campus due to its price, about 80% of the blackberries here are that model) just to BBM my friends. I'm pretty sure at least three quarters of the students here have a blackberry. If you don't have a lot of money for an expensive contract with unlimited texts, but want to stay connected, this is really the best option.

Before I even heard of the Torch I was like...they need to make a 3 inch (FIXED) touchscreen up top and a great keyboard at the bottom..but they didnt. BTW the Torch is a great phone!...its just the beginning. Its their "Tmobile G1"

@arcangel1994 If I were you I'd pick the G2 because it runs stock vanilla android(my pref). There are reports of a loose hinge but I'm sure you can get it replaced. Keyboards are also a factor to think about. Physical/touch vs touch only

@arcangel1994 I had a blackberry all my life--and recently upgraded to the Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S. It's as if I had upgraded from a 1990's brick to a phone from the future. I've never been so happy about a gadget purchase in my life. The screen is breath-taking--the phone is fast--and in general my phone makes iphone fanboys stop and stare. The soon-to-be upgrade to 2.2 will fix the issues with the GPS (which is my only gripe with the phone)
