I want to thank you, Mariza, for your extraordinary contribution to art in the modern era. I first heard you sing at a concert on the island of Hawaii, perhaps seven-years-ago, and I have never forgotton that evening! It amazes me that you voice has even improved since then! I don't know if you read in English - if so, you might like my novel, The Broken World. It has been well received in Potugal. B. H.
Thank you,Sally. When allowed to share these on my FB pages I want to do that. The interviews for educational information are priceless. I love the sound she chose to create by using what we in the United States called a file mike in the days I worked as a studio singer. This was a wonderful choice for her in recreating the proper ambience. Thank you Also for the English translation. This is the most fascinating for me, and most frustrating if not there for me to understand an artist's thoughts.
This is so marvelous. What a special moment in an artist's life, to have achieved so much that she is able to sing what she has always known, but feared that she wasn't yet ready to "live up to" what her people or culture expected. This is so courageous. I hope she knows now how fantastic this is. I have so much respect for her devotion to keeping Fado alive forever.
Thank you for posting this, and thank you, Mariza for this awesome body of work.
